North American Detective: I am Proficient in All Kinds of Gun Quick Draws-Chapter 550 - 318: The Fall of Lucifer Part 1 (Additional for the Glorious Silver Pact at Night)_1
"Attack!" someone roared furiously.
Only then did the crowd snap out of their fear of the two brutes' bloodthirsty gaze. Gripped by horror, they grabbed the steel pipes in their hands and smashed them down in unison, just as they had with two of their companions before.
The dull thuds of solid steel pipes striking flesh and bone resounded continuously.
In the blink of an eye, dark bruises and bloody marks appeared all over the bodies of the two brutes. Streaks of blood slid down their heads and dripped onto their bodies, emitting a pungent, metallic smell.
But to everyone's disbelief, these two men didn't even groan. They let the blood flow past their eyes and down their cheeks, their gazes still bloodthirstily sweeping over the crowd, like savage beasts whose predatory instincts were slowly awakening.
"How is this possible!" A skinny expert gamer, looking at the two eerie figures, subconsciously shuffled backward, retreating behind the others.
After all, the two companions beaten to death earlier had only lasted one round before succumbing. What followed was simply an expression of their bloodlust, a chance to vent and desecrate the corpses.
But these two men... they hadn't even frowned.
Just as he turned, intending to quietly hide, a woman's high-pitched scream, mixed with men's wails of terror, came from ahead.
The skinny expert gamer couldn't help but look back, wanting to see what had happened. Just then, a foul-smelling liquid rained down, staining his pale face a ghastly red and white.
Through the shower of blood, the skinny expert gamer stood petrified, as if turned into a statue. He saw the male player who had been closest to the two brutes; his throat looked as if it had been ripped open. One half was exposed to the air, gushing blood like a fountain, while the other half barely supported his lolling head, which swayed, still attached to his spine.
What was more terrifying was that the two men with half-torn necks had not yet perished; the expressions on their lolling heads were twisted in agony, their mouths agape in silent howls, unable to utter a sound.
This scene petrified everyone. They instinctively screamed to vent their terror, forgetting to flee.
If they survived, this scene would undoubtedly become a lifelong nightmare.
But the two brutes clearly weren't planning on giving them a chance.
Grabbing the chunks of flesh they had torn off, the two brutes, now free from the distracting electronic chip noise in their brains, transformed into bloodthirsty beasts. They charged into the crowd, their arms as thick as a man's thigh, smashing and battering. Their sheer brute force killed or injured several people on the spot.
The crowd finally snapped to their senses. Some fled, while others swung their steel pipes in resistance.
But this didn't change their fate.
The two brutes, faced with the sporadic steel pipes hitting them again, showed no intention of defending themselves. They absorbed the blows, grabbed their attackers by the neck, and effortlessly snapped them. Then, like tanks, they scattered to chase down the fleeing players.
All at once, screams and wails melded together.
The pristine white deck of the cruise ship was stained with blood, which formed small rivulets flowing towards the gutters, spilling into the ocean...
「In the distance.」
Dean and his party had already climbed to the top of the cabin and hidden while the brutes were standing motionless.
Black Widow furrowed her brows tightly, causing the spider tattoo on her cheek to ripple. A few of its fearsome claws seemed to lift and twitch with the movement of her skin, unsettlingly lifelike.
She turned her head to Dean, who seemed to be watching the spectacle. "Don't you think those two guys are a lot like my mutated teammates from before?"
"It's not that they're similar; they're the same kind of thing. But these two seem more stable, probably more mature test subjects."
As Dean spoke, his gaze shifted to Black Widow's abdomen. "Although those guys seem to lack intelligence, they could probably live for a very long time—long enough for us to starve to death. So, we must wait for them to be lured away, then move that water and food up here!"
According to Little Mike, invisible fluctuations constantly emanated from Black Widow's body, transmitting to several satellites passing overhead. Dean mulled it over. The only places she could have hidden things were her pelvic cavity and a few other internal spots. Like the 'sewage system,' for example. He was curious how she had managed to evade the security checks. An inside job? If so, Black Widow's identity just became very interesting. But he couldn't ask. Not yet. His upcoming 'fall into the water' needed witnesses. And if those witnesses included people from United States special agencies, all the better.
Thus, Dean needed to make sure Black Widow and her companions all survived.
Black Widow and her team, hearing the screams below become increasingly scattered, were tempted.
She looked at Dean. "This is dangerous. We need someone to be bait, someone to lure them away if those two return to the deck. And that person must be nimble, so they can last a little longer!"
As soon as she spoke, the two teammates behind Black Widow immediately looked at Dean.
This guy had survived being hunted by her mutated teammate before; he was undoubtedly the most suitable candidate. And there were three of them, while Dean only had one companion. The advantage was theirs!
"What do you mean?" Cheston En sensed trouble. He clenched the steel pipe in his hand and looked anxiously towards his boss, Dean.
The top of the cabin wasn't very large. If a real fight broke out... He worried the two of them would be thrown off. Then, their survival would be uncertain.
But to Cheston En's surprise, Dean, who in his eyes never accepted a disadvantage, simply nodded decisively. "No time to dawdle. I'll watch from the sidelines. You two go move the supplies. My companion stays up here to lend a hand."
