Chapter 86: Chapter 86: Targeted

Perhaps it was due to the stress of the recent laugh provoked by Hannah Winter, that Jenny King began to crack under the pressure.

The moment their eyes met, one was incredibly guilty while the other was calmly smiling.

The silence was like the aftermath of gunfire.

Before long, the teacher arrived. She frowned at the sight of the students scattered throughout the classroom and demanded everyone to take their seats.

Someone raised their hand and said, "Teacher, none of us want to sit next to Hannah Winter."

After this statement, everyone nodded in agreement.

Some even laughed rudely.

The teacher fell silent for a moment, then frowned and said sternly, "Do you think this is your home? You’re 20 years old yet you still act like kindergartners. Everyone sit down immediately, understood?"

They just keep causing trouble day in and day out.

The teacher cursed silently to herself and turned around to write on the board.

Of course, no one dared to argue with the teacher and reluctantly returned to their seats.

However, Hannah was still intentionally avoided by everyone, with a seat intentionally kept empty around her.

When the teacher finished writing and turned around, she saw this scene. She adjusted the glasses on her face and looked displeased but said nothing.

The classroom was restless, a sign of a classroom filled with immature people.

The period passed like this. As soon as the bell rang at the end of the class, the teacher couldn’t wait to leave, without even a word more.

Hannah received a phone call and was about to leave, but she was stopped at the door by Ethan Evans and his friends.

Ethan’s appearance was nothing like it had been the other night at the bar. He looked pleased with himself and his smug smile widened when he saw Hannah, "I told you Hannah Winter, crossing me was a bad idea."

Hannah, holding her books, had no intention of engaging in conversation with him, "Excuse me."

She spoke politely, but her distracted and lazy eyes showed she could care less.

This wounded Ethan’s pride.

All he wanted was to claim Hannah Winter, the most desirable woman in the Film Studies department, for himself.

To show her how wrong she was for not accepting him in the first place.

It seemed like she still didn’t understand his true strength.

"Hannah Winter." Ethan stepped forward, lowering his voice. "Do you know why you have fallen so far?"

Hannah lazily looked up and gave Ethan a rare attention,"I know."

Ethan was caught off guard, "I advise you to consider what I said earlier. Otherwise, I can’t guarantee what I might do...maybe..."

He spoke, his smile becoming more arrogant as he extended his hand to touch Hannah’s fair cheek. But before he could touch her face, a sharp pain surged through his wrist.

Hannah skillfully twisted his wrist and shoved him away, finally annoyed, "If you want to talk, talk. Why are you so close to me? Do you not realize you have bad breath?"

Ethan’s face flushed bright red, his hand on his painful wrist.

Several boys nearby asked him what happened, but he couldn’t muster a single word, leaving them helplessly worried.

They quickly turned their aggression towards Hannah.

"Hannah Winter, Brother Ethan showing interest in you was a favour to you, don’t be ungrateful."

"We’ve seen plenty of women like you. Acting high and mighty just to earn more money, right?"

"Do you really think you’re incredibly beautiful? Take off your makeup, and you’re just another ugly girl."

Hannah didn’t react to the initial insults, but her temper flared at that last comment.
