Chapter 73: Chapter 73: Bok Choy and Enoki Mushrooms

Only after Jack Stewart finished cursing, did he feel the lump in his throat subside. He looked at Hannah, "When are you breaking up with that scoundrel?"

Hannah was taken aback, "Who?"

Jack Stewart was frustrated, "Who else could it be! It’s none other than George River, who secretly harbors his true love but dares to fake deep feelings and only sees you as a substitute!"

"That guy is definitely a living enoki mushroom. You’re such a beauty, and yet he is not moved. I really don’t understand. What’s so good about his bok choy first love? But then again, they fit each other perfectly. One’s an enoki mushroom, and the other’s a bok choy. Perfect for a meal. Just let them stir-fry in their pot. Why are you still involved, making a fool of yourself, and even lowering your value?"

Enoki mushroom?

Bok choy?

Stir-fry in a pot?

Lol——

Hannah couldn’t hold it in and sprayed her lemon water across the table, straight into Jack Stewart’s face.

Jack Stewart gritted his teeth, "Hannah Winter! You messed up my makeup!"

"I couldn’t hold it in, sorry." Hannah handed Jack Stewart a tissue, coughing several times before she regained her voice. "I’ve broken up with George River."

As Jack Stewart was wiping off the water from his face, he didn’t hear it clearly, "What break up?"

"Me and George River." Hannah’s tone was indifferently casual. After finishing her sentence, she even chuckled a few times.

Her voice was gentle and soft, as playful and tinkling as a child’s giggle combined with a young girl’s crisp coquettishness.

Jack Stewart was shocked this time around. Luckily, he did not have a mouthful of water. He dropped his tissue and held Hannah’s hand, looking excited, "Sweetheart, look into my eyes. You’re not lying to me, right?"

Hannah looked slightly helpless, "Really, why would I lie to you? We’re over... Why...why are you crying?"

"I’m moved." Jack Stewart sniffled.

He has always cared about his image, and never losing his composure in public. But this news moved him.

He was moved.

It was the kind of moved where a mother sees her daughter finally breaking up with a jerk.

His loving gaze almost drowned Hannah like an ocean wave.

Hannah took a deep breath, but didn’t say anything.

George River had always taken good care of their relationship, so nearly no one knew.

Jack Stewart’s family has some connections and wealth but are not at George River’s level.

The only reason he knew about all this was because of... his magical sixth sense.

Something unique to women.

As for the affairs of George River’s first love, he had hired a private detective to investigate.

Back then, the sons and daughters of the River and Lynch families coupling up was no secret in their social circle. After all, the families were both well-matched, creating a sweet campus romance story.

If not for an incident causing the Lynch family downfall, things wouldn’t have come to this.

Although Jack Stewart had a girlish heart, he was a man. Once he saw Tiffany Lynch’s photo, he instantly understood George River’s intention.

Finding a replacement?

What a joke.

But Hannah had to pretend to be completely smitten with George River because of her mission at the time. This really irritated Jack Stewart.

Although he despised his bestie’s love-struck brain, when things went bad, no one protected the "baby" more fiercely than Jack Stewart did.

Unable to withstand Jack Stewart’s nagging, Hannah had to reveal her break up with George River, and how he unilaterally cancelled their contract.

Jack Stewart fumed, "Indeed a shameless jerk. For Hannah to fancy him was an honor that he failed to acknowledge. How dare he cancel the contract!"
