No Substitutes for the Bigshots' Dream Girl Anymore!-Chapter 72: Campus Forum
Of all people, why did she have to fall for George River, such a fickle and unfaithful man.
Not only did she harbor such a crush, but she also annoyed his sweetheart, Hannah.
A stand-in?
Pretending to be so affectionate, if he had time for these silly games, why didn’t he win her back? What’s the point in tormenting other girls?
Pffft, he’s just looking for excuses for his playboy lifestyle.
He despises this man.
Hannah didn’t seem to care though, she’d heard worse.
While Jack Stewart was still sulking, she decided to check for herself.
The post was made in the wee hours.
Looking at the timestamp, it must’ve been posted immediately after she and Arnold left the bar. The poster was clearly in a rush.
Our school forum is most active at night. When the post came out, even though there were no clear face shots, from the poster’s words and the mention of ’school beauty’, everyone suspected it was Hannah.
After all, the original Hannah Winter was genuinely naïve, and genuinely beautiful.
’Dumb beauty’, ’dumb beauty’, but she’s still a beauty, isn’t she?
The poster only stirred up trouble and shaped opinions, the real malice came from the comments underneath.
— Holy crap, isn’t this totally Hannah Winter? What a bombshell!
— If I’d known earlier that our school beauty was up for sale, I would have made a move.
— Does anyone know the price? She may be second-hand goods, but I don’t mind a spin.
— You guys are disgusting, Hannah is just like that because of men like you.
— That’s really revolting, she’s lowered all us girls’ status, that wild horse should go off and be promiscuous far, far away!
— I heard from Hannah’s roommates that she’s always out at night. Before, she was kept by a wealthy guy for years, and even had several kids. But she got rid of them, pretty dirty stuff.
These were the more moderate comments, there were some that were so offensive Hannah didn’t really understand them.
But she got the gist.
The girl was sitting by the glass window, the sun shone through casting a sprawl of shadows that crept up to her feet, resting on her shoulders.
She lowered her head, partly closing her eyes, her curled eyelashes fluttering, eyes slightly lifted at the corners. Her pale skin turned a soft pink at the cheeks, like the color on flower petals, incredibly subtle but inescapably captivating. Beneath her delicate neck, the lustrous skin was eye-catching, her prominent collarbones slightly revealed, and very alluring.
This scene was like a painting, too beautiful to disturb.
A boy outside the window held his phone with a QR code, blushing. But Hannah didn’t notice.
Jack Stewart did. He playfully winked, and silently mouthed, "Date? Handsome?" Which scared the kid off.
Jack Stewart turned his attention back to Hannah sitting across him. After contemplating, he snatched the phone from her hand, putting it into his pocket, "Stop looking. They’re a bunch of short-lived monsters. They might look human, but inside they’re rotting and moulding. I can smell their nauseating acidic stench from here. Those women are simply jealous of my little beauty, right? Let them say it to your face, not behind your back."
"Tsk! What do you expect from such people!"
No doubt about it, when Jack Stewart curses someone, even Hannah had to bow down. Especially when his sharp, biting tone isn’t seen as derogatory, rather it made him charming. No wonder the girls in the shop couldn’t help but sneak a few glances.
Such a waste, they’ve set their hearts on the wrong person.
