No Substitutes for the Bigshots' Dream Girl Anymore!-Chapter 71: My Beauty, I Will Protect
When Hannah rushed to the agreed-upon dessert shop, Jack Stewart was already waiting for her.
He sat in the spot by the window, dressed in a floral shirt and jeans. His hair, stiff with styling gel, was neatly combed and rest on his forehead. His face was so fair that many girls would feel self-conscious in comparison. His facial features were quite delicate. When quiet, he looked like a clean-cut and handsome young man.
He was sitting in his chair with two frosty cups of lemon water in front of him. One hand was resting on his waist, with his other fanning himself beside his head.
Upon seeing Hannah walk in, he sauntered over. "Oh my, my little beauty, under such a blazing sun, you didn’t even think to use an umbrella. If your skin were to get damaged by the sun, it would hurt me so much."
As he spoke, he started to apply his own sunscreen on Hannah’s face.
Hannah swatted away his hand. "God of Three Eyes, don’t create such a fuss. I walked all the way here without any problems."
Jack wailed in pity, "You’re really asking for trouble. It’s fine if your skin is only tanned, I have thousands of ways to bring your fairness back. But, if it ages your skin then what can we do?"
Jack spoke as if it’s heartbreaking, acting as if it was his face under the blazing sun.
It was clear Hannah had grown accustomed to Jack’s dramatic personality. The few young women seated at the neighboring table quickly turned their attention away, the surprise and disappointment evident on their faces. "Let’s get serious, I applied sunscreen before I came."
"Your sunscreen is useless, use mine instead. I just bought it from a daigou. Including delivery charge, it cost almost a thousand. " Jack said as he thrust his sunscreen into Hannah’s bag.
Without a hint of hesitation.
Naturally, he had to protect his little beauty’s skin.
The two sat facing each other, and Jack pushed a glass of lemon water towards Hannah, "Lemon water, it lightens skin tone. Drink more."
Hannah: "..."
Jack had an obsession with skin whitening. It made Hannah feel that if Jack didn’t become a director after graduation, he could consider selling skincare products.
His glowing skin would serve as an excellent billboard.
Hannah took a sip of the lemon water and addressed Jack, still fiddling with makeup, "Get on with it. What did you want to tell me when you called?"
Jack applied some powder while looking in the mirror, "It’s about the school forum. It’s blowing up. Didn’t you check it before you came?"
When he finished speaking, he put down the mirror to look at Hannah. Seeing her shake her head, he breathed a small sigh of relief, "It’s better that you didn’t see. It’s just a bunch of gossips spreading rumors behind our backs. You let them yap themselves into a blister, so their tongues would rot to make us feel better."
After Jack finished speaking, he opened the school forum on his phone, but didn’t let Hannah view the comments. Instead, he clicked on one of the photos.
He pointed to the slender girl in the photo, asking, "Is this you?"
Hannah glanced at it.
From the angle and clothes, it looked like a snapshot of her and Arnold Simmons leaving a bar the night before.
When Jack asked, Hannah didn’t deny it.
Getting Hannah’s answer, Jack groaned, rolling his eyes at her, "You know what? There’s nothing good about that guy. You’re throwing yourself at him, either cooking or washing clothes. I bet if he asked you to clean the toilet, you’d do it willingly, wouldn’t you?"
Jack muttered, counting on his fingers, "Look at how they are tarnishing your reputation on this forum. The headlines are saying ’#film school beauty willingly falling to become someone else’s money draw*#’ and the comment section below is full of...."
He was about to explode with anger, but was also upset at Hannah’s self-deprecation.
