No Substitutes for the Bigshots' Dream Girl Anymore!-Chapter 29: Onlookers
"It’s over." Tiffany Lynch said, seemingly aware of George River’s fatigue and sorrow that lurked in his eyes. Recalling the scene she had just witnessed, she couldn’t help herself.
She chuckled, casually mentioning the event, "George, I ran into a girl in the banquet hall just now. Guess what amusing discovery I made?"
The sweetness in her voice, the voice that George had yearned for nearly a decade, was particularly pleasant to hear.
However, hearing her words, he had an inkling of what she was getting at, but he feigned ignorance and asked, "What is it?"
Tiffany’s gaze lingered on George’s face for a moment. She slightly lowered her eyes to hide her emotions, her voice remained unchanged, "I found that she resembles me a little. Unfortunately, I did not get to ask her name. I saw her heading this way just now; did she not run into you, George?"
After speaking, Tiffany raised her head to look into George’s eyes, trying to find something in them.
However, George, who had long been accustomed to adversity, didn’t change his expression, "No."
Tiffany saw nothing in his eyes and felt a bit disappointed, but her intuition told her that things were not that simple.
However, she laughed again and said, "Really, that’s a pity. If I had known, I would have stopped her. After all, looking alike is a sort of fate too in this world."
Her last sentence held deep meaning.
He pushed down the discomfort within him, removed his jacket, and draped it over Tiffany’s shoulders. His voice remained gentle, "Alright, it’s getting cold at night; let’s go home. You have an interview coming up; don’t ruin your eyesight by staying up late."
"Oh, right!" Tiffany clapped her hands, her entire being radiating joy, her voice teasing, "George, when I’m on the show, don’t forget to vote for me."
"Alright, I will." George smiled and playfully tapped her nose, "My Tiffany can definitely be the center of the group; I believe in you."
Tiffany laughed shyly, "Don’t say that, the other girls are really good too."
George laughed, "No matter how great they are, in my eyes, I only see you."
A man like George River may show such gentleness and indulgence only to the woman he loves.
She was the only one he had eyes for.
The entire space seemed to be filled with pink bubbles, while the tears shattered on the ground were forgotten in the deepest part of her mind.
"Tsk tsk tsk." Hannah walked out from a corner, her arms crossed, her gaze on the couple in the distance, "Sure enough, all men have the same forgetfulness."
He could be comforted by your sorrow one moment, and then he could be enjoying another girl’s laughter the next.
Golden Lotus, a rare visitor, took a breath of fresh air and turned into a puppy, asking weakly, lying on Hannah’s shoulder, "Master, what did the female lead mean by those words? Why don’t I remember that you met her?"
"Of course, I didn’t meet her." Hannah curled her lips into a smile, "Because from beginning to end, she was a mere spectator to the dramatic play I was performing."
Golden Lotus was speechless, aghast, "Wha...What?"
"Tsk." Hannah let out a light laugh, "She watched the show for free and didn’t even give a gift, what a bargain."
