Chapter 1939: Chapter 1939 Hayes Edwards Extra (96)

A few minutes later, Hayes Edwards came out of the room wearing a loose sweatshirt, his hair a bit messy, but it didn’t affect his good looks at all.

They had agreed to buy fireworks together today.

Actually, Hayes never liked this kind of childish stuff, but Grace Winter loved it.

She loved it at eight years old, and she still loved it at eighteen.

Hayes could only patiently accompany her to buy them, following her all the way, afraid she might get lost.

The streets during the holidays were bustling, decorated with lights, and even the trees on the roadside were adorned. It was said that on Chinese New Year’s Eve, there would be a lantern festival in the city center.

Hayes followed Grace with two big bags full of things, "What else do we need to buy?"

He was more patient than before, but only with Grace.

Grace said, "I want to buy flowers."

Then Hayes took her to a nearby flower and bird market.

Compared to the streets outside, the flower and bird market was even more crowded, with shops on both sides selling flowers and fish.

Hayes glanced down at his phone, and when he looked up again, Grace was gone.

After searching around, he found her standing inside a fish shop, watching the goldfish wagging their tails in a tank, accompanied by several children.

She looked perfectly at home among them.

One of the kids couldn’t take his eyes off the beautiful guppies and turned to ask his mother, "Mom, can I buy this?"

He asked very earnestly.

The child’s mother smiled and ruffled his hair, "Sure, but you have to promise to take good care of it."

The child nodded happily.

Grace was a bit envious and instinctively turned to look for Hayes.

But there were too many people around, and it was noisy, so she couldn’t see him at first. Just as she was about to step out anxiously, someone pulled her back.

It was Hayes who had just walked over.

She sighed in relief, "I thought you disappeared."

Hayes held her hand and told her, "Grace Winter, don’t wander off."

She nodded obediently and then looked at the tank, "Hayes Edwards, I want to buy goldfish too."

Hayes said, "... Don’t call me Hayes Edwards outside."

Grace turned to look at him, puzzled and said, "Ah."

Hayes was silent for a few seconds, "Never mind." He walked over, picked up a net for catching fish, and said, "Which ones?"

Grace happily pointed them out to him, "This one, this one, and that one..."

Hayes caught six according to her instructions and had the shopkeeper pack them up.

After that, they went on to buy flowers and decorative plants. The heavy ones were left to be delivered back to their address, while Grace held the few goldfish she bought close, occasionally looking down at them.

She worriedly asked, "Will they feel uncomfortable staying in the bag all the time?"

Hayes fastened her seatbelt, "If you hurry home, they won’t."

Indeed, with those words, Grace had no desire to stroll around anymore.

When they got home, the first thing Grace did was place her little goldfish in the tank. The six goldfish were divided into two tanks, three in each.

Grace gave one of the tanks to Hayes.

"You have to take good care of them, remember to feed them, but don’t feed them too much."

Hayes could only accept this gift, "Got it."

Grace was still a bit worried, "Can you really take care of them?"

Hayes laughed, pinching her cheek.
