Chapter 1876: Chapter 1876: Hayes Edwards Side Story (33)

The elementary school department was at the smaller basketball court, while the middle school department was at the larger soccer field.

Today’s physical education class took place on the upper basketball court.

Several other classes were also having lessons at the same time.

Grace Winter stood in the first row, right in the middle, following the teacher’s movements, raising her hands, kicking her feet. Her movements were a bit clumsy, but she was learning seriously.

The class lasted forty minutes, with half for learning broadcast gymnastics and the other half for free activities, limited to the two playgrounds up and down.

The PE teacher probably knew it was everyone’s first day of school and not too familiar yet, so he took the initiative to organize a game.

After playing games, everyone became a bit more familiar with each other.

But it would still take some time to accurately remember everyone’s names.

After class, Grace Winter hugged her backpack and sat on the steps down the building, waiting for Hayes Edwards to come down.

The corridor was most crowded right after school, with many people coming out. Grace Winter had to stand up, tiptoe, and try her best to find someone.

After a few minutes of waiting, she finally saw Hayes Edwards in the crowd.

This time, Hayes Edwards didn’t say much. He walked over before she could call his name.

"I waited for you to go home together."

"Let’s go."

Today, Father Edwards and Father Winter came to pick them up from school.

The two just happened to meet at the school gate, and Hayes Edwards and Grace Winter also emerged from the school.

They went to school together, went home together, and days like these felt like they were back in kindergarten—not that anyone asked anymore. Everyone assumed Grace Winter was Hayes Edwards’ sister.

Only the closest friends knew they had a "childhood sweetheart" relationship.

Toward the end of September, the school organized a fun sports day for the elementary department and a sports day for the middle school department.

The fun sports day for the elementary department allowed students from the third grade and above to participate, scheduled two days before the middle school sports day.

Even though first and second graders were not allowed to participate, they could still watch and didn’t have to attend classes.

After school in the afternoon, Grace Winter’s first task was to run and ask Hayes Edwards which events he signed up for in the fun sports day.

Hayes Edwards had an empty backpack slung over his shoulder, glanced at her, "Why do you have to be so nosy?"

Grace Winter thought for a moment and smiled, "I want to cheer for you!"

Hayes Edwards snorted but still said nothing.

Little Fatty next to them jumped in to help him speak, "Grace, Hayes signed up for ball dribbling, ball bouncing, and ball throwing. I’ll come find you, and we can cheer him together."

"Okay," Grace Winter agreed happily and nodded.

The two were still discussing whether to shout some slogans or make some flags on that day.

Hayes Edwards was too lazy to bother with their childish plans.

Of course, besides the competition, there was one more thing for the fun sports day: snacks.

It was like a spring outing; many people would bring snacks to school that day, munching as they watched the events.

Just before the fun sports day was a weekend, Grace Winter ran off on her own to find Mother Edwards, saying she wanted to bake some cakes to bring to school.

Mother Edwards crouched down, rubbed Grace Winter’s little head, "Cakes might be inconvenient to carry. How about we make bread and cookies?"

Grace Winter thought for a moment and nodded, "Okay, Grace wants to help make them too."

Mother Edwards stood up, "Of course, with Grace’s help, they’ll be made even better."
