Chapter 1863: Chapter 1863: Hayes Edwards Side Story (20)

Grace Winter cautiously looked up at him and softly said, "I’m sorry, I’ll be more careful in the future. Please don’t be angry, okay?"

Her temperament was too soft, like cotton, but more like cotton candy — not only soft but also sweet.

Even when she was bullied, she always remained innocently naive.

Hayes Edwards looked at her, unable to stay angry, and scoffed, "Fine, fine, I won’t get angry with a child."

Grace Winter smiled, "I knew Hayes Edwards has a good heart."

Hayes snorted, "Says who?"

He was, of course, very good.

His eyes fell on the bag in Grace Winter’s arms, and he asked, "What gift did you bring me?"

He told himself he wasn’t interested at all, just casually asking.

"It’s candied fruit my grandma made, sweet. Do you want to try one?" Grace Winter pulled over a small chair and placed the bag on it.

Inside the bag was a glass jar.

The amber-colored candied fruits were nestled next to each other, coated in sugar, just looking at them made one feel sweet, and they tasted great.

Hayes Edwards had a little secret.

He really liked eating sweet things.

He especially liked them.

He was almost drooling at this point but still tried to keep his composure, pretending with a reluctant attitude, "Then I guess I’ll try one."

Grace Winter quickly opened the glass jar and handed one over.

Watching Hayes Edwards eat it, she took one for herself too.

The sweet taste lifted the mood, "Hayes Edwards, isn’t it delicious?" 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

Since it was made for kids, the candied fruit had been pitted beforehand.

Hayes Edwards’ eyes lit up, it was really delicious, "Not...bad."

He said this, but the next second, he took the glass jar, "Since it’s a gift for me, you can’t have any more."

Grace Winter actually wanted to eat another one, but she held back, "Okay, I won’t eat anymore."

She swallowed hard again.

"There are plenty at my house."

But Mother Winter wouldn’t let her daughter eat too much, only a little each day.

A few days before school started, Dawn Light Middle School deliberately opened its gates, allowing the newly admitted freshmen this year to visit the campus with their parents’ company.

Father Winter and Mother Winter brought Grace Winter to visit too.

On the day they went, they ran into many of their kindergarten classmates at the school gate.

Everyone was choosing to enroll.

Dawn Light Middle School wasn’t very large, and being an old school, the teaching buildings looked a bit aged, but the facilities and teaching standards were excellent.

The school was divided into a primary and a junior high division, separated by an administration building, each with its sports grounds, making it convenient for later advancement.

The school opened only ten classes for each grade, with a class size of around thirty-five students.

Mother Winter watched for a while, feeling quite satisfied, then asked Grace Winter, "How about studying here in the future, Grace?"

Grace Winter thought for a moment, "Will Hayes Edwards be going to school here too?"

Father Winter laughed and said, "Yes, Hayes will be going to school here."

Only then did Grace Winter nod, "Then I also want to study here."

Hayes Edwards: "..." After all, he still couldn’t escape.

Oh well, it’s still two years until the little tag-along starts school.

Halfway through the visit, the parents started to disperse and toured on their own.

Halfway through, Mother Edwards suddenly looked in surprise at a spot near the fence.
