No Substitutes for the Bigshots' Dream Girl Anymore!-Chapter 1862: Hayes Edwards Side Story (19)
On the fifth day of Grace Winter’s return to her hometown, Hayes Edwards arranged to play downstairs with Chubby.
During the holiday, the neighborhood was quite lively, with the sound of children playing heard everywhere. The basketball court was never empty throughout the day.
Hayes Edwards also wanted to play basketball, but Father Edwards said he was still too young, and only bought a small children’s basketball for him, installing a small hoop in his room.
He often wished he could grow up and get taller as soon as he woke up.
Chubby didn’t quite like sports; before and after the holiday, his hands never parted from snacks, and his belly was rounding into a little ball.
"My grandma says that eating well is a blessing. Hayes Edwards, do you want one?"
He extended the small cookie in his hand.
Hayes Edwards was not very interested, "You eat it yourself." 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
"Alright." Chubby nodded, munching away, then looked around while asking, "Hayes Edwards, why haven’t I seen your sister today?"
The area with gym equipment was specifically for kids, with slides and colorful soft mats on the ground, and several children climbing up and down.
There were boys and girls, but Grace Winter was not among them.
A little annoyed, Hayes Edwards replied, "She went back to her hometown with her mom and dad."
"Oh, I see." Chubby seemed a bit disappointed, "I even brought some snacks for Grace."
It was the cookie in his hand, which was almost completely eaten by himself.
"Hayes Edwards, can you tell me when Grace comes back?"
Hayes Edwards asked, "Why?"
Chubby scratched his head, "I want to come play with her. Otherwise, there won’t be a chance once school starts."
Once school starts, they’ll report to Dawn Light Middle School. It’s right next to the kindergarten, but they won’t be able to play games together during breaks like before.
Thinking about this, it’s a bit sad.
However, Hayes Edwards couldn’t really relate to this sadness because Grace lived next door to him. He saw her every day, and there was no escaping it.
This little tag-along!
Annoying!
After most of the summer vacation had passed, Grace Winter returned from her hometown with her mom and dad, bringing many local specialties.
The first thing Grace did when she got home was to find Hayes Edwards.
Children seem to grow particularly fast; in just over a month, there were visible changes.
Mother Edwards opened the door, pleasantly surprised to see Grace.
She was wearing a straw hat woven by her grandmother, her little face round, and she raised her hands to present gifts as she looked up, "Aunt Edwards, gifts."
Her little voice was soft and tender, and her smile was sweet.
"Thank you, Grace." Mother Edwards quickly accepted the gifts and called inside, "Hayes, Grace is here."
Playing with the game console in his room, Hayes Edwards suddenly jolted, and the character on the screen fell into a pit.
Before he could find a place to hide, Grace Winter had already rushed in, "Hayes Edwards, I brought you a gift!"
Hayes Edwards felt annoyed.
Whenever Grace Winter was around him, she was like a chirping sparrow, unable to be quiet.
"Why didn’t you knock before coming in?" Hayes Edwards scolded her.
Grace Winter paused, explaining, "I saw the door was open."
"Just because it’s open doesn’t mean you can skip knocking."
Actually, they never used to knock before; it’s just that Hayes Edwards lost in the game and was feeling frustrated.
"Hayes Edwards, are you angry?"
