No Substitutes for the Bigshots' Dream Girl Anymore!-Chapter 1789: Daily Life After Marriage (17)
The world of children is truly peculiar.
"Of course I did! I even made fun of it for shedding fur and going bald!"
Evelyn Winter muttered all the way, and Arnold Simmons occasionally responded without showing any annoyance.
He felt deeply touched.
As they got out of the car, he even took the initiative to say, "I think you’re a pretty nice person. Let’s be friends from now on." 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
Arnold Simmons was quite surprised but still reached out to shake the small hand extended to him.
Right after, Evelyn Winter added, "Since we’re friends now, we’re the same. From now on, you’d better call her Sister Hannah too."
Arnold Simmons: "..."
A child’s secret little thoughts.
...
In June, Evelyn Winter finally returned to his long-cherished little Golden Lotus appearance—a black poodle with natural curls.
It seemed to have grown a bit since before; it could no longer ride atop Big Round’s head and had to settle for his neck instead.
Big Round was thrilled that his friend had returned to his original form.
Together, they ran around the yard, chased butterflies, and foolishly opened their mouths to catch water from the sprinkler.
No longer needing to play with the kids, Hannah finally had some free time again.
Coincidentally, Jack Stewart was returning to the country today. She changed into a fresh outfit to meet him at the airport, stopping along the way to buy him a bouquet of flowers.
The airport was packed with people; it was the weekend, and there were even more waiting to greet arrivals. Apparently, there was a celebrity landing today as well, with plenty of fans holding up light boards in anticipation.
The airport buzzed with activity. Even security guards had come out to manage the crowd.
Paparazzi and freelance photographers were stationed at the entrance.
Hannah glanced at the names on the light boards—none of them rang a bell.
Having left the entertainment circle for a year, the industry had undergone so much change. New faces replaced the old ones, and the sheer volume of newcomers made it impossible to keep track.
Some chased dreams; others enjoyed admiration.
Hannah politely made way for the excited fans and moved to a slightly quieter corner, lowering her head to check the messages on her phone.
She wore a mask and kept her outfit simple—a white T-shirt, jeans, and a bundle of baby’s breath in her hands. She looked like a student who hadn’t yet graduated.
Standing amidst the crowd, her presence was strikingly noticeable.
Even some fans who were solely there to photograph their idol couldn’t help but turn their cameras toward her, snapping a side-profile shot.
Compared to their hazy field of vision, the camera photo was much clearer. "Why does she look so familiar? Doesn’t she resemble that..."
That who?
For now, no one could recall the name.
She was undeniably beautiful.
Her companion, engrossed in searching for their favorite celebrity, barely glanced at her. "You must be mistaken. Brother Payne will be coming out soon, and you’ll want to lock down a spot before someone else takes it!"
"You’re right, let’s go secure a place!"
The girl snapped back to reality, hurriedly stowing her camera before squeezing her way forward again.
A few minutes later, amidst the excited cheers of fans, a tall young man wearing a mask emerged at the exit, surrounded by at least eight or nine staff members.
Paparazzi and fans alike crowded together, vying for the closest spots.
The calls of "Brother Payne" grew louder and louder, each shout drowning out the one before it.
Hannah, still replying to messages, instinctively looked up.
Before her was a sea of faces, stretching as far as the eye could see, with even more people pushing forward from behind—some curious onlookers simply there for the spectacle.
"Could you please move aside? Don’t block the path,"
A frustrated voice barked from behind; the chain reaction that followed sent people shoving one another until Hannah, who had been standing quietly in her corner, was jostled to the front.
Then, unexpectedly, someone bumped straight into her...
