Chapter 1790: Chapter 1790: Daily Life After Marriage (18)

The staff beside Payne Johnson naturally treated her as a crazed fan. They didn’t even wait for Hannah to steady herself before stepping forward to block her.

"Sorry, miss, please step back."

"I’m not..." Hannah was just about to explain when she heard the fans screaming behind her and shook her head. "Forget it."

Explaining wouldn’t make any difference; in situations like this, it’s hard not to be misunderstood.

Protected by his entourage, Payne Johnson seemed to notice the commotion over here and turned his head to glance.

Among the crowd, Hannah holding a bouquet of baby’s breath was indeed too eye-catching.

That unmistakably direct gaze even made his manager whisper, "Payne, do you know her?"

Could she be his girlfriend?

For idols like them who emerged from talent shows and were still in their ascendant phase, the last thing they needed was "dating scandals."

Payne retracted his gaze and shook his head. "Just feels like I’ve seen her somewhere."

Seen her somewhere?

The manager looked over as well.

But Hannah had already left her original spot.

Right now, he didn’t care about recognizing her or not—he was more worried about how this "little accident" might get fabricated by gossip blogs. Even if they didn’t spin a "romance scandal," crafting a story about the "team clashing with fans" would still be enough to give them a headache.

Finally breaking free from the crowd, Hannah spotted Jack Stewart waiting nearby.

After a year of absence, he seemed to have completely changed his style—standing close to six-foot-three, dressed in a simple sportswear set, wearing a baseball cap. His skin looked slightly tanned, which tempered the delicate charm on his face.

From a distance, he saw Hannah approaching, put away the phone in his hand, and couldn’t help teasing her. "What’s this? You’re into chasing celebs now?"

Hannah stuffed the bouquet of baby’s breath directly into his arms. "The fans were too wild; they pushed me forward." 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

"They pushed you?" Jack frowned and grabbed Hannah’s shoulders, turning her around to check.

Hannah slapped his hand away. "I’m not hurt."

"Who said anything about you being hurt?" A year apart hadn’t changed their dynamic at all. "I was wondering if you bumped into someone’s arms just now—maybe you’d get a romantic story out of it or something."

Hannah looked at him, helplessly smiling. "I’m already married."

Jack paused briefly, then lowered his head to look at Hannah, who wasn’t wearing heels and only reached his chin. His lips curled slightly. "Oh right, if you hadn’t mentioned it, I’d almost forgotten."

As soon as he finished speaking, he flipped the conversation. "Why didn’t Arnold Simmons come with you?"

Hannah replied, "He’s busy with the company’s transition affairs."

Over this past year, they hadn’t lost touch. As Hannah’s former manager and close friend for several years, Jack still knew her quite well.

"So, you both—one stepping out of the spotlight, the other stepping behind the scenes—are planning to just enjoy life now?"

Hannah looked up at him. "Didn’t you also quit?"

He was so tall, and the backlight made his face almost indistinguishable—only an impression of his transformed demeanor lingered.

He seemed more relaxed, more nonchalant. Leaving behind the fame-seeking world of the entertainment industry truly had softened him a lot.

"My only artist already left the scene; naturally, I had no more reason to stay in the entertainment world." Walking side by side with Hannah, Jack spoke casually, like they were just chatting as usual. "After all, I became a manager in the first place because of you."

At heart, he wasn’t someone with grand ambitions. Meeting Hannah and spending five years advancing and retreating with her in the entertainment circle had already consumed all his enthusiasm.

What remained after that, was just the desire to wander and explore.

After all, isn’t the world big enough for that?
