Chapter 1781: Chapter 1781: Daily Life After Marriage (9)

The lights went out, and there was the sound of wind outside the window.

"Arnold?" She tilted her head up, her face faintly adorned with two rosy blushes.

He responded in a low voice, his gaze darkening as he leaned in to seek that tender flush.

The night wind swirled the clouds, veiling the moonlight, leaving only starry specks dotted across the lake’s surface, where pure white swans playfully swam amidst the galaxy’s shimmer.

...

Evelyn Winter’s energy was a bit too excessive—even Big Round, the husky, started to tire of him.

So he turned to Hannah instead.

But every time he went to find Hannah, Arnold would be there too.

Evelyn Winter felt like Hannah was prioritizing romance over friendship.

Hannah just pinched his cheek and laughed, "What do you mean prioritizing romance over friendship? You’re just a little rascal right now."

"I can grow up!" Evelyn Winter said indignantly.

Since the day he first became aware, the most prominent beings in his memories were Big Lang and Hannah.

He loved being with Hannah.

But nowadays, Hannah was always with Arnold, and they were even planning to ditch him and go out together.

"I don’t care, wherever you go, you have to take me along." Evelyn Winter latched onto Hannah’s leg and refused to let go.

Hannah kept playing her game, utterly unaffected, "Don’t you usually enjoy being with Big Round?"

"I don’t like him anymore!"

From his spot in the dog bed, Big Round let out a howl, as if to voice his agreement.

Hannah said, "If I bring you along, I’ll be trending on social media tomorrow—everyone will think I’ve become a mom."

"What’s wrong with being a mom?" Evelyn Winter lifted his head to look at her, his round eyes wide open, "Isn’t it great to have such an adorable son like me?"

He was extraordinarily cute—his round cheeks, his round eyes, even the kindergarten kids all scrambled to be his friends. The teachers proclaimed him as the most handsome boy in kindergarten.

Hannah said it wasn’t great, "I don’t like kids."

Evelyn Winter fretted, "What if I grow up a bit more?"

"I still wouldn’t like older kids either."

"Then what do you like?" Evelyn Winter asked, "I’ll turn into whatever you like!"

He was super capable!

Hannah thought for a moment, "What about turning into a cat?"

Evelyn Winter scrunched up his eyebrows into little waves.

A cat?

Like Big Lang, that annoyingly finicky cat?

He didn’t like it—not one bit—but if it was for Hannah...

"Just wait, I’ll turn into one for you right now!"

With that, Evelyn Winter shot up, patted off his pants, and dashed upstairs with a "splat-splat-splat."

Hannah watched his little figure retreat, unable to hold back a laugh.

Right at that moment, Arnold came out of the kitchen holding a plate of fruit, "Do you really think he can turn into a cat?"

Hannah shook her head, stabbed a slice of watermelon, and popped it into her mouth, "I don’t know, I’m just teasing him for fun."

From a certain perspective, Big Lang and Hannah shared similar personalities.

It’s probably what they call "pets resembling their owners."

After successfully teasing Evelyn Winter, Hannah headed out with Arnold.

They didn’t go far—just took Big Round out for a walk.

Today was a special day. Big Round had just reached the lakeside when he saw his "dream girl," Little Belle.

She was a Samoyed with snow-white fur, glowing as though bathed in sunlight—every move seemed slowed down, even the curve of her ears exuded extra cuteness.

Big Round fell for her completely at first sight.

Grinning from ear to ear, he couldn’t stop himself from laughing silly. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺

Little Belle’s owners were an elderly couple—the dog was initially brought home joyfully by their child, only to soon realize they didn’t have the energy to care for her.
