No Substitutes for the Bigshots' Dream Girl Anymore!-Chapter 107: You Must Be More Beautiful Than Me
Hannah was so thrilled at Arnold’s concession that she was over the moon. Holding onto Arnold, she implored him to swear, "If someday you stop liking me or get tired of me and want to replace me, you must find someone prettier than me."
Arnold frowned and muttered, "What kind of oath is this?"
She playfully shook his arm, cooing sweetly with her soft, petite voice, "Will you say it?"
After a moment of silence, Arnold caved into Hannah’s gentle persuasion, and in his first-ever promise, he acceded to her bizarre and laughable request.
To Hannah, this vow was a treasure, and she cozied up to Arnold, her arms, as white and delicate as lily roots, tightly wrapped around his waist.
Her loose, fine hair grazed his neck, sending a tingling sensation down his spine as her warm breath brushed past his earlobe while she spoke.
She stated, "Mr. Simmons, it’s not easy to find a woman more beautiful than me. So if one day you no longer want me, you may end up all alone for the rest of your life."
He reached over to lightly stroke her fine, silky hair while casually catching and holding her naughty hand. The tender and helpless hand nestled in his as he advised, "So, be good. You never know, I may decide to keep you for life."
"Can’t I be your official one?" she grumbled, acting upset.
With Arnold, she was always straightforward about her intent to charm him.
Pure and clear, yet not annoying at all.
But Arnold just chuckled softly, his touch on her dark hair incredibly gentle, his gaze deep as he stared at the top of her head, not answering Hannah’s question.
Fortunately, Hannah didn’t push it.
She was always like this: disarmingly sweet when being flirty, like a spoiled little lady. Yet she also knew her limits, never dwelling on certain topics.
She was carefree and open-minded.
But that was okay as well.
If they eventually went their separate ways, at least their parting wouldn’t be awkward.
They would part on good terms. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
The green cheongsam and dark suit clashed stylistically, and yet complimented each other perfectly.
The tall man, detached and cool in his dark suit, bent to hold the petite lady. His shadow enveloped her completely, leaving only a sliver of the hand-painted landscape on the edge of her skirt visible.
With a breeze, the painting of a small boat, seemingly aimless, found temporary anchorage in the dark shade.
Hannah and Arnold stayed together for quite a while until a call from the student council asking for her whereabouts reminded her of her duties for the day.
She frowned, unwilling to part with the man in front of her, "Mr. Simmons, I have to go."
Arnold responded calmly, "Mm."
His voice was calm and composed, revealing no hint of longing. The depth in his peach blossom eyes resembled a sea under the night sky. Though it appeared calm on the surface, it concealed uncharted depths and imminent threats.
Watching Hannah, he brushed a fallen leaf off the top of her head.
Batting Arnold’s hand away, Hannah grumbled again, "Mr. Simmons, I said I have to go."
He acknowledged, "Yeah, I know."
"Don’t you have something you want to say to me?" She crossed her arms and stared at him wide-eyed.
