Nine Nether Dragon Emperor-Chapter 173: Tell him, he’s been dumped by this old lady!
In a small alley in Junlan City, several masked men blocked Ning Xuan and Ning Sanwu.
Scanning them over, Ning Xuan shook his head and sighed, "Women. They really shouldn’t be so narrow-minded."
The men looked at each other, not understanding what he was talking about.
"Did Jun Hongyan send you?" he asked. The men were momentarily stunned, and in that instant, Ning Xuan moved.
BANG! SPLAT! SWISH!
His fist, the Tianli Sword, and his Sword Pill were unleashed simultaneously.
The men were instantly slain.
Ning Sanwu, standing at his side, was stunned. The first time Ning Xuan had killed in front of her, she hadn’t even clearly seen what weapon he used. This time, she saw everything.
He’s a Sword Cultivator! And so strong!
Brilliant light shone in her beautiful eyes as she stared intently at him, so much so that she didn’t even notice how he disposed of the bodies.
By the time she snapped out of her daze, there was nothing left in the alley but flecks of blood and floating ash.
"Where are they?" she asked.
"They’re gone."
"Oh... alright."
"Hey, Big Baddie, will you teach me how to use a sword?"
Ning Xuan didn’t respond.
"You’re not scared I’ll learn the Way of the Sword and beat you, are you? I’m actually doing this for your own good! Just think, I could send you on your way with one clean sword strike. You wouldn’t feel a thing!" Ning Sanwu declared confidently, her hands clasped behind her back.
"With reasoning like that, how could I possibly refuse?"
"Hehe, thank you, Master Big Baddie!"
The two of them gradually walked away.
Shortly after they disappeared, Jun Tianyong and Jun Tianchen appeared at the very spot where the men had fallen, their faces etched with anxiety. When they didn’t see Ning Xuan, Jun Tianchen prepared to dash off again.
"Wait!" Jun Tianyong’s command stopped him in his tracks.
The next moment, the two examined the blood on the ground, brushed a finger through the ash, and fell silent.
Suddenly, Qian Yourong’s voice rang out from behind them. "Where is Ning Xuan?!"
Following her were Qian Duoduo and Jun Hongyan.
"He’s gone."
After Jun Tianyong answered, the aunt and nephew duo visibly breathed a sigh of relief.
Jun Hongyan, however, stared with wide eyes. The men she sent were all experts. How could Ning Xuan possibly have escaped? Refusing to believe it, she rushed forward.
"Don’t bother looking. They’re all dead," Jun Tianyong said in a low voice.
"Impossible, I—"
SMACK!
Qian Yourong stepped forward and slapped her across the face.
Jun Hongyan clutched her cheek, her expression one of utter disbelief. "Third Sister-in-law, you—"
"Shut up! I am not your Third Sister-in-law! There isn’t a single decent person in the Jun Family! Jun Wuya is an impotent fool who actually tried to give me to Lin Xihua! And you—I didn’t even know you, so why should I try to curry your favor? You’re nothing but an arrogant simpleton with a pretty face!" Qian Yourong was furious, unleashing her full anger.
Jun Tianyong was about to speak, but Qian Yourong shoved a Divorce Letter into his hands. "Please give this to Jun Wuya and tell him he’s been divorced by this lady! Duoduo, let’s go!"
"O-Okay, Aunt! Excuse us..." Qian Duoduo squeezed past the others and scurried after her.
The three people left behind stared, dumbfounded.
"Eldest Uncle... you have to do something!" Jun Hongyan, coming to her senses, was on the verge of tears. She had never imagined things would escalate this far.
"When Yourong makes a decision, no one can change it. There’s nothing to be done. Let’s go back," Jun Tianyong said, dejected. He seemed to have aged a decade in an instant.
Jun Hongyan then turned to Jun Tianchen, her eyes pleading. "Third Uncle..."
Jun Tianchen simply flicked his sleeve and snorted coldly. "Don’t call me Third Uncle! Look at the mess you’ve made!"
Jun Hongyan was left standing there, stunned. After a long pause, she clutched her cheek and roared, "Ning Xuan! You deserve to die! I will have my revenge for this slap!"
If it weren’t for Ning Xuan, she would still be the family’s adored jewel.
「The Jun Residence」
Jun Wuya stared blankly at the Divorce Letter in his hand.
Jun Tianchen asked, "Wuya, what are you going to do?"
"I’m going to kill that damned pair!" Jun Wuya snarled, his face twisting with rage as he crumpled the letter into a ball and crushed it into dust.
Jun Tianyong frowned.
Jun Tianchen glanced at him and said, "Eldest Brother, we can’t air our dirty laundry in public. If this gets out, the Jun Family’s reputation will be ruined!"
Jun Tianyong looked at him in astonishment. "Are you sure?" he asked gravely.
"Certain! We can’t touch Qian Yourong; who knows how many bizarre trinkets she’s carrying? The same goes for that fatty. Ning Xuan is extremely strong. Our opening is with that little girl!" Jun Tianchen’s eyes flashed with a vicious light.
Jun Tianyong still hesitated. "If our previous speculations are correct..."
"If he can frame others, so can we!" Jun Tianchen urged. "Eldest Brother, we can’t afford to be sentimental any longer! Any later and it will be too late!"
"Alright!" Jun Tianyong agreed through gritted teeth. "What do you propose?"
Jun Tianchen looked toward Jun Wuya, who nodded in understanding.
「An hour later」
The sky had grown dim, and the city’s lanterns were being lit.
「Junlan Inn」
Ning Sanwu had just finished washing up in the room. Ning Xuan, who had been standing guard, had only just returned when there was a knock at the door.
"Who is it?" he asked in a deep voice.
"Young Master Ning, it’s me."
Qian Yourong’s voice came from outside.
The tension in Ning Sanwu’s body instantly vanished. A smile spread across her face as she moved to open the door, but Ning Xuan shook his head, stopping her.
Then, he trotted to the door with a look of joyful excitement, exclaiming, "You’re here!"
Behind him, Ning Sanwu’s expression darkened. Pouting, she stomped her foot, then sat down at the table and turned away in a sulk.
"Why are you here?" When he saw Qian Yourong, Ning Xuan paused in surprise for a moment before asking with a smile.
Qian Yourong’s gaze, however, passed over him to Ning Sanwu. "What’s wrong with her?" she asked curiously.
"It’s nothing," Ning Xuan said, shaking his head. As Qian Yourong moved past him toward Ning Sanwu, he added, "By the way, I have something for you."
Qian Yourong instinctively turned her head.
The next moment, Ning Xuan’s hand clamped around her neck like an iron vise.
Before she could utter a sound...
CRACK!
Ning Xuan snapped her neck.
Sensing something was wrong, Ning Sanwu turned her head. Her beautiful eyes went wide, and she was left speechless.
"You..."
Just as she was about to speak, Ning Xuan covered her mouth and gestured for her to be quiet. "It’s a fake. Don’t speak. Listen carefully to what I say," he sent via voice transmission.
Hearing Ning Xuan’s transmitted words, Ning Sanwu breathed a sigh of relief and nodded repeatedly.
A moment later, Ning Sanwu let out a shriek. It was immediately followed by Ning Xuan’s furious roar, "What are you doing?!"
Outside, Jun Tianyong and Jun Tianchen, who were lying in ambush, both let out a sigh of relief.
Jun Tianchen laughed triumphantly. "Haha, see? I told you my plan was the right one!"
Jun Tianyong chuckled along with him. "Wuya’s Face-Changing Technique truly is remarkable. Even we couldn’t see through it at first glance!"
Laughing and talking, the two of them pushed open the door.
What greeted them was a blinding flash of sword light.
Two heads tumbled to the floor, their eyes wide with shock. Before they lost consciousness entirely, they saw a flash of multicolored light.
This time, Ning Sanwu finally understood how those people from before had disappeared.
Strange Fire!
Blinking, she looked at Ning Xuan, her eyes full of amazement.
"Master Big Baddie," she said, voicing her thoughts aloud, "how many other skills do you have that I don’t know about?"
