To form the 5th Rank, one must first understand what the 5th Rank truly is.

Everyone had their own theories.

Some called it a mere gateway to the 6th Rank. Some called it the threshold where one leaves behind their mortality to transcend into a higher life form, a being of pure energy. Some claimed it was the ultimate state of true enlightenment. Others argued it was the harmonization with natural laws or the manifestation of a personal domain. A few even believed it was the exact point where a cultivator finally shed the weight of their karmic chains to become unbound.

But Grey knew the truth.

The 5th Rank was none of those grand illusions. It was a realm fundamentally equivalent to planting a seed in the world.

Origin Core... The Source.

Titles did not matter because they all held the exact same purpose and meaning. They were the anchor to the universe!

It was all about planting the Seed of Origin.

Grey sat cross-legged in his room as the insights of the 5th Rank came rushing into his mind like a tidal wave.

He had unexpectedly connected himself to a frequency channel which showed him the path to the 6th Rank.

A prototype had already materialized in his mind. But he was still confused about it.

"The first stage of the 5th Rank will have six levels. It involves creating six branches that connect directly to the origin. In my case, the Nexus."

That was when he became lost for words.

Connect to the Nexus?

How was he going to do that?

Although he was enlightened on the path, he could not take the next step forward.

To begin with, finding the Nexus energy was merely a coincidence.

For the energy sources of other Evolvers, they all shared one true origin. The Heavenly Dao.

It was the ultimate truth to them. Forming a connection with heaven and earth was something they had already done at the Law Transformation stage in the 2nd Rank. Hence, connecting themselves to the Heavenly Dao formed a resonance chain, which in turn created an anchor known as the Origin Core and granted them energy-to-matter synthesis capabilities.

But he had already comprehended the frequency for that capability. Meaning, he did not need the Heaven’s assistance.

However, the Heavens also granted them all sorts of buffs. Elemental immunity, elemental-related ability amplification, and trait amplification.

Each step taken by a 5th Ranker ensured they became incredibly strong with each new level.

But his unique path did not have those capabilities.

"Which Dao should I contract this time?" Grey had a thoughtful expression.

"Why not contract the Dao of Power?" The Fragment abruptly appeared beside Grey.

"The Dao of Power?" Grey was intrigued.

"Yep," the Fragment nodded. "It can do all the things that a normal Heavenly Dao buff can achieve, but better."

"And... considering how the Great Daos act around you, I doubt it will reject you."

"Hm. That is not a bad thought at all."

"But before that, I need to find a way to transfer my digital information into frequency, and also find a way to connect to the Nexus. I do not know where to start."

"I do not know either," the Fragment said with a defeated sigh. "The Nexus energy... it is something even I cannot remember anything about."

"It is, well... whenever you utilize Nexus energy, I feel a sense of oppression. Like a power that is going to devour all of the heavens."

"And this is me talking as the Heavenly Dao," the Fragment added.

It still vividly remembered the suffocating sense of oppression.

Grey was an unfathomable being, and his energy could dominate the world with a single thought.

He embodied perfection.

His mortal body was flawless in its own way. There was no room for errors, but these changes did not come from just his path.

All in all, the Fragment was certain. Once he reached the 5th Rank, he would be unstoppable.

Perhaps not even a 6th Ranker could do a thing to him by then.

Every accumulation of his mortal foundation up to the 4th Rank would be directly shown once he anchored himself into the universe.
