Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven-Chapter 447: The Family Meeting and the Supreme Pan-Cosmic Alliance Tournement
"For now, I will introduce you to your uncles and aunts," Angela said with a deep sigh. "You might want to officially meet your cousins too."
"Be nice to them, okay?" Angela instructed in a slightly worried tone.
She knew her son’s old personality very well. He actually used to get beat up by the local kids back on Earth strictly because he used to actively annoy them on purpose.
"I am always incredibly nice to people. What exactly are you saying, Mom?" Grey replied with violently twitching lips.
"Haa..." Angela simply continued affectionately ruffling Grey’s long hair exactly as if her literal life depended on it.
She was so incredibly happy that she finally got her beloved son back that she completely refused to let him go anywhere else out of her sight.
For starters, she was going to actively arrange a highly secure cultivation room for him right next to hers and Anderson’s. Her husband had just abruptly left to officially meet the Emperor. But before Grey could rest, she had to make him formally meet the ambitious uncles and his competitive cousins of the main household.
Swish!
She sharply snapped her elegant fingers. Instantly, they were transported right inside a massive, highly luxurious golden chamber. Inside the grand chamber, orderly rows of expensive seats were perfectly arranged, with two highly ornate, elevated seats placed directly in the middle.
Angela turned slightly to Grey. Her warm expression rapidly morphed, instantly turning vastly more serene, cold, and indifferent than the loving expression he was highly familiar with. She sharply swept her freezing gaze toward absolutely everyone already gathered in the grand room.
Then, she turned back to Grey and gently gestured for him to sit right next to her in the two elevated seats available.
"Sit here. Your father will not be back for quite a while," she said quietly to Grey.
Grey nodded in understanding and confidently sat down right next to her.
"Everyone. This is my son, Grey Arclight." Angela’s voice echoed with absolute authority as she turned to everyone in the room.
There were exactly eleven people sitting across the long, polished table. They all wore highly cold, completely indifferent expressions across their faces as they analyzed the newcomer.
"Greetings, Matriarch." The younger people in the room, who were without a single doubt Grey’s ambitious cousins, respectfully stood up one by one.
There were exactly seven of them in total. Two highly elegant girls and four sharp-eyed youths that actively gave off powerful, highly condensed auras. Absolutely all of them were solidly at the 5th Rank.
One person in particular actively gave off an even more powerful, suffocating aura. The said person was sitting there completely nonchalantly with his arms casually crossed and his sharp eyes fully closed. Unlike the others, he absolutely did not stand up to pay his respects to the Matriarch.
This highly arrogant youth was Jason Arclight, the second son of Angela and Grey’s older brother.
"Sit," Angela commanded sharply as she looked at each of them. "It clearly looks like everyone has been training incredibly hard. I definitely see significant improvement."
The youths’ tense expressions rapidly lit up upon hearing the rare praise directly from Angela.
"Yes, Matriarch!" the young elites of the Arclight family shouted in perfect unison as they sat back down.
"They have indeed been highly hard at work preparing for the grand tournament." Just then, a man with a highly average face, a small ponytail, and a neatly trimmed goatee spoke up proudly. "The supreme tournament of the Pan-Cosmic Human Alliance is rapidly approaching. Every single known genius will be there actively participating. Getting a high rank in the tournament alone is a truly huge, heaven-defying achievement for the young ones in the starry sky."
"Both my sons, Mark and Rodrick, have successfully managed to reach the second level of the Origin Manifestation Realm."
"And they only just turned seventeen." The man arrogantly rearranged his expensive necktie as he slightly eyed Grey, who simply smiled highly politely right back at him.
"Nice to formally meet you too, Uncle," Grey replied smoothly with a completely unbothered smile.
Angela’s lips immediately twitched violently when she heard Grey actively speak up.
Whenever he started casually speaking like that back on Earth, things absolutely did not end well.
"What exactly might your name be? You are incredibly fashionable, I might say. I honestly have not seen someone so well-kept like you in quite a while," Grey added cheerfully.
The arrogant man immediately coughed violently upon hearing this highly sarcastic reply. The bragging words he had just spoken were keenly targeted directly at Grey’s weak cultivation. But was this kid seriously dense enough to not understand that blatant insult?
"You may respectfully address me as Uncle David," he said with a completely indifferent, slightly annoyed look on his face.
"You should also meet my two highly talented sons. They are both your exact age and already solidly at the 5th Rank." David proudly gestured toward Rodrick and Mark.
Both Rodrick and Mark looked directly at Grey with a small, highly fake, polite smile. Grey effortlessly gave them the exact same fake smile right back.
Then, another middle-aged man chimed in smoothly. "I am your third uncle, Grey. You can simply call me Uncle Steven."
"And these are your two cousins, Susan and Heather." Uncle Steven gestured warmly toward the two highly above-average girls his age sitting in the room. They were both at the 5th Rank, and they both smiled incredibly brightly at Grey.
"Nice to formally meet you, Brother Grey. I truly hope you have been doing well until now," Susan, a highly well-kept, elegant girl with a small, calculated smile spoke softly.
"If you ever feel like actively sparring or strictly need deep advice in basic cultivation, please feel free to give us a friendly visit. Us sisters will gladly help you out," Heather, who was sitting not too far from her, said with a likewise highly energetic, slightly condescending smile.
"Okay," Grey nodded back with his flawless, professional, polite smile.
"These two are your aunties," Angela spoke swiftly, clearly wanting to end this. "Deborah and Patricia."
His two aunties turned to look at him completely indifferently and gave a tiny, highly dismissive nod.
’They are certainly an incredibly interesting pair,’ Grey thought to himself with a small, highly amused laughter echoing inside his mind.
He would not even have to actively move a single muscle to completely defeat absolutely every single one of them, but their blatant arrogance could be sensed clearly. They openly looked down on him for seemingly being a weak 4th Ranker.
But actively hiding his true strength was absolutely not a bad thing at all. It truly shows people’s true colors, does it not?
Raw strength clearly defined absolutely everything in this cosmic world. If you did not actively possess it, then you better get ready to get heavily looked down upon by everyone.
Then, his sharp gaze casually swept toward the powerful man who was silently sitting there until now. He possessed a highly similar facial appearance to Anderson in one way or another.
This arrogant youth must be Jason.
Soon, the tense family meeting came to an abrupt end, and all that was left in the grand chamber were Jason, Angela, and Grey.
Then, Jason also smoothly stood up without saying a single word and began to walk directly toward the exit.
"Are you not going to say anything to your younger brother, Jason?" Angela shook her head in deep disapproval seeing this cold behavior.
"I already saw him," Jason replied completely indifferently as he seamlessly left the golden place.
"You... Jason, stop right there!" Angela was highly angered seeing this blatant disrespect.
Why were her children so incredibly difficult to deal with? It honestly gave her a massive headache.
"Do not mind your brother, Grey. He is exactly like that most of the time," Angela sighed, turning to Grey and affectionately ruffling his hair once again to calm herself down.
-----
After that brief meeting, Angela securely took Grey directly to his private room. She knew he had been actively traveling through spatial jumps for three whole days, and hence strictly told him to get some proper rest and wait for his father to come back before they made another major move. She left by saying that a grand family dinner was in a few short hours and his younger sister and eldest brother would be back very soon.
Right now, he was standing alone inside his newly arranged quarters. It was incredibly spacious and heavily guarded.
"It really reminds me of my old room," Grey’s expression rapidly twitched as he looked around.
The specific wooden table placed on the side, the huge, clear window positioned to the right, and his comfortable bed... it all heavily resembled his highly mundane room in his previous life. He knew without a doubt that this specific layout was something his nostalgic parents had carefully made in deep remembrance of him.
"But for now, the top priority should be flawlessly reaching the 5th Rank."
Grey’s eyes crinkled as he chuckled softly. Now that he had officially entered the highly competitive starry sky, being physically weak was considered an absolute sin. And he firmly planned on completely washing away those perceived sins in just a few short days.
He was finally going to officially step into the 5th Rank and also successfully become a full-fledged Saint!
"We are going to strictly enter deep seclusion, Fragment," Grey chuckled darkly as he sat cross-legged directly on the plush bed.
The glowing Fragment smoothly came out of his soul and revolved rapidly around him.
[Your family is a real piece of work, Grey.]
"Sure they are," Grey commented casually.
Then, he actively called out to someone else.
"Eterna, how are things coming along?"
A flawless digital being, which was none other than Eterna, seamlessly manifested right beside Grey. "Things are coming along incredibly nicely. I will be able to actively take complete, untraceable control of the Aeonic Galaxy’s information network in exactly one day."
"Good. We have some major things to do right after that," Grey smiled.
Eterna silently nodded in perfect obedience and then vanished back into the digital ether.
Then, Grey completely shut his active mind off from the physical outside world and sent his divine consciousness straight down into the depths of the Chaos Source Codex.
He would not come out for quite a while. He would be deeply adventuring through the vast, incomprehensible space of the 12th-dimensional construct, hungrily searching for the endless, supreme secrets of true evolution.
