Necropolis Immortal-Chapter 2208.2: Halberd
Chapter 2208.2: Halberd
“Senior brothers, since senior brother Helian is already sparring with Brother Sui, why don’t the three of us stretch our legs as well?” Nalan Tu smiled warmly. He sent his sword light to Luo Yi and Zhan Taixuan before they had a chance to respond.
……
“Kill!” Crown Prince Wang Song gave the order to charge as soon as he saw the combatants locked in combat in the air. Several million rays of sword light stitched into one massive pillar that rammed the boundary around Dark City.
BAM!
The ponderous boundary shook as frightening ripples undulated over it.
“We fight.” Lu Tianling and Situ Wenxian smiled at each other. “KILL!”
The capital’s city doors swung open to make way for an army that streamed out like an azure flood.
The Azure Dragons, one of Lu Tianling’s three trump cards!
One hundred and eight thousand Azure Dragons who were all at least latter nascent soul! Their core of two thousand elites were all soul separation powerhouses. Lu Tianling had quietly raised thousands of soul separation heavyweights in just two hundred years, and this was just one of his trump cards!
The azure flood transformed into an azure dragon as soon as it exited the city and soared into the sky. Dark Orchid’s one million strong army was nothing in its eyes.
“Lu Tianling!” Some Origin Sect powerhouses hidden within the Dark Orchid army jumped with shock when they saw the Azure Dragons.
“It looks like he’s gone to a great deal of effort over the years. He’ll be heartbroken if they’re wiped out, won’t he?” One of them licked his lips and shot into the sky. He flung a large mountain-like seal at the azure tide.
Bam!
A crimson halberd appeared in the air and stood between heaven and earth. It solidly rebuffed the seal.
“A true immortal from the Origin Sect? I, Lu Tianling, will bear witness to the strength of such a being!”
BOOM!
Lu Tianling took a step forward and arrived in front of his weapon, gripping it with one hand. He currently stood at nearly three meters tall and presented a hulking sight. Bathed in crimson flame with the weapon in hand, he resembled a war god of fire.
Initial awakened cultivation level, Lu Tianling faced a true immortal of the Origin Sect with just his halberd!
Whoosh!
He rushed the true immortal without further word and swept his halberd across the sky. The true immortal resisted for only the briefest of seconds before he was thrown backward.
Lu Yun swallowed hard on the city walls. “It looks like my own trump cards are nothing compared to grandpa’s…”
He’d known that Lu Tianling was strong, but not this strong. A true immortal couldn’t take even one hit from his grandfather! The man was only initial awakened realm, but he was deploying the might of an august immortal.
“It’s the treasure in grandpa’s hand… its aura…” Golden light sparkled in Lu Yun’s eyes, but the omnipotent Eye of Nullification couldn’t see through the crimson halberd! In fact, the Lus’ lower spirit rank weapon Brightfire Slayer seemed to be a copy of the halberd.
“The Origin Sect hunts grandpa likely because of this treasure… Its core origin is more frightening than the Seal of the Multitude!”
The seal was a gift from the heavenly dao and it was very high level among connate treasures. However, the halberd was still superior to it! What level did that make the weapon?
Connate spirit treasure? Connate peerless treasure?
At the same time, Lu Yun’s keen senses also perceived that as domineering as the halberd was, it was missing something that it should have possessed—vitality.𝗶𝐧𝐧𝗿𝐞𝐚𝗱.𝗰𝗼𝐦
It was once alive, but was just a corpse now. Just like… the sword pagoda.
However, it also seemed different from the sword pagoda. The latter was something that the past him had created, and he kept wanting to call it the Sugato Sword Pagoda.
But that couldn’t exist in this time and age, only the sword pagoda could.
BAM!
An enormous collision echoed outside the city as the flaming halberd nailed the true immortal to the ground. His immortal soul didn’t even have the time to flee!
……
The fight’s swift ending stunned everyone into frozen shock. Sui Wuzhou, Nalan Tu, Helian Shan, Luo Yi, and Zhan Taixuan stilled their movements and stared dumbly at Lu Tianling.
That was a true immortal, and an elite that the Origin Sect had raised with painstaking care. Lu Tianling nailed him to the ground in plain view after just a few moves!
Pinpricks of horror traveled down everyone’s backs. Wang Song paled at the sight of the magnificent figure in the air.
“The real fight is upon us.” As Lu Yun took in the brief respite, he waved a ray of green light into his hands from the Lu residence.
“You do not disappoint us, Lu Tianling.” Another five figures appeared in the sky and surrounded the man. Their auras were far stronger than true immortal—they were august immortals!
Hate flashed through Lu Tianling’s eyes as he recalled the halberd. It had been these five who destroyed the Great Xia Lu Clan. The family only had three awakened cultivators then—the poor souls immediately turned to dust when faced with five august immortals.
He had been a young boy at the time and escaped only because of the halberd that he grasped. After fleeing by the skin of his teeth, he then spent a good deal of time scurrying from hiding place to hiding place.
“Gentlemen, I will seek from you some of what the Origin Sect rendered to the Lu Clan!” Lu Tianling declared coldly and swept his halberd around, filling the air with unbounded flames that churned toward the immortals.
“Lu Tianling, everything that you are is a function of that immortal weapon. Without it, you’re just a regular awakened cultivator!” One of the five barked with laughter and summoned his own immortal weapon, ready for a bitter fight.
Bam!
The two collided and bounced back at the same time, completely evenly matched.
“Kill Lu Tianling as soon as possible and take the halberd!” Another person with a remote expression brandished his sword, joining his brethren in attacking the Lu patriarch.
Lu Tianling took a deep breath and transformed his weapon into a dragon of flame. It wreathed protectively around him and firmly blocked the five.
“Aouuu!” A long croon sounded from Dark City, followed shortly by a long black shadow from somewhere in the metropolis.
“Finally!” A relieved smile appeared on Lu Yun’s face. There was no place for him in this kind of battle. It’d be one thing if it was only one august immortal—he could use his methods to set up some obstacles and traps.
However, it was five august immortals and there were certainly more hidden within the Dark orchid army. Knowing how formidable Lu Tianling’s halberd was, it wasn’t impossible that Marquis Origin himself would take the field.
“My deepest thanks to you, little fellow.” An exceedingly melodious, yet very dispassionate voice sounded in Lu Yun’s ears.
Startled, he jerked back to see a young woman of sixteen years old in a long black dress and hair down to her waist. Her form was lithe and shapely, her face worth cities and nearly rivaling that of Fengxian Wu. Her only flaw was that her expression was too unemotional. Even Lu Yun didn’t wish to draw closer to her.
“Are you… senior gray jiao?” he quickly realized.
“Gray jiao?” The girl tilted her face. “My name is Mu Ge. You are permitted to call me that.”
“Very well, Mu Ge.” Lu Yun tugged up the corner of his lips. Never in his wildest dreams had he thought that the fearsome gray jiao would be such an eye-catching young woman.
If only the look in her eyes wasn’t so frosty.
“My injuries were healed due to your Shennong Life Restoring Pill. Therefore, I will take care of this trouble for you.” A tiny smile crossed Mu Ge’s face. It was like an ice flower within a world of snow. Beautiful, but cuttingly cold.
Whoosh!
She appeared in front of an august immortal and gently reached forward. Her tender little hand easily passed through his body.
Puff!
The august immortal exploded into bloody mist before he had a chance to react.
“What?!” Those assembled were flabbergasted by the sudden appearance of a young woman who could kill an august immortal with one move.
“I finally understand why the law enforcers protect Darklake Empire so,” Sui Wuzhou said with resignation as he looked at the young woman. The five awakened cultivators had long stopped their fight.
Helian Shan and the others were likewise dumbfounded by Mu Ge’s way of introducing herself.
“Who are you?! Are you going to interfere in Origin Sect business?!” Another august immortal immediately stopped his attacks when he saw one of his companions go down.
“You talk too much.” Mu Ge furrowed her brow. Black light rose from a hand that she pushed at the speaker.
Shocked, the august immortal found that the delicately wrought hand bore down inexorably like a looming world in his eyes. He couldn’t move at all!
Bam!
Golden light flashed by just before Mu Ge’s hand pressed down on the immortal’s head, taking the four with it.
“Aether immortal?” Mu Ge looked at a man slowly rising from the ground.
“Your strength is the equivalent of one and I am an aether immortal. If the two of us fight, the city behind you will be completely leveled. Why don’t both of us stay out of this?” he said slowly as he fixed his eyes on Mu Ge.
