Hao Ren walked up to the babies and picked them both in his arms. Xuanshen had fallen asleep, and Yanling was also, sleeping but it was as if she sensed the presence of her father and opened her eyes before she smiled at cooed at him.

Hao Ren also smiled back at the girl and asked, "Did you miss me?"

Yanling chuckled and cooed again, Hao Ren smiled and replied, "Yes, I missed you as well, my little darling. But look at your brother, he is sleeping like a log."

The father and daughter duo talked to each other about the things he had been doing, while he channeled the Yang Energy to Yanling. Then he fed the girl with some bottled milk. Han Lingshi had extracted it earlier and kept it in storage. After this was done, Hao Ren took his daughter for a bath, and changed her clothes.

Han Lingshi had prepared a lot of dresses and stuff for the children. They didn’t use the gifts that were sent by the people when they came to bless the kids on the naming ceremony. When he finished handling Hao Yanling and gave her a massage, Xuanshen woke up and Hao Ren took the little guy for a bath and massage. The whole scene was finished with great harmony. Xuanshen loved Han Lingshi more and so he would make a fuss from time to time, but Hao Ren had a lot of tricks under his sleeve, and coaxed the boy to stay calm.

Hao Mei entered the room, and she was surprised to see Hao Ren, and asked, "How did you come back from the battlefield?"

He smirked and replied, "I have my skills."

Hao Mei rolled her eyes and said, "Well, I am looking for Lingshi, there are some people from the Spirit Siphon Continent, who seek refuge."

Hao Ren raised his brow and asked, "Why refuge?"

Hao Mei sighed and replied, "Why else, the elders of their families went to the Eternal Battlefield with you, and now they don’t have the strength to deter the enemies from taking any actions. They are willing to sign spiritual contracts with us and such. They just wish to live. So, the cabinet wanted to ask for Lingshi’s advice."

Hao Ren nodded and after some thought he said, "How about you, let them enter the city, and have Xiao Mei monitor them? Though, make sure they don’t find out about it. Then leave them alone after signing the contracts, if they pose a threat kill them, if they are good, then let them be, but never take an eye off of them."

Hao Mei thought and said, "It aligns with what we all thought. Fine, I will need the royal decree to sign the contract with them."

Hao Ren took out the seal of the emperor and tossed it to Hao Mei who caught it and he said, "Keep it with you, when Lingshi is not around, and if you need to make an urgent decision, use this, but Big Sis, please don’t usurp my throne."

Hao Mei almost clenched her fists and shattered the jade seal before she said, "Humph, do you even know that my status as the Snow Saint of the Crescent Moon is higher than that of yours, you hands off Emperor? I would never want your shabby chair."

Hao Ren chuckled and shook his head as he said, "You know I am joking right?"

Hao Mei looked at him carefully and said, "It is because of that I have not taken out my sword to beat you up."

Hao Ren smiled as he watched her turn around and leave. He shook his head and turned to look at Xuanshen who was gazing at him and asked, "What are you looking at little one, that is my elder sister, if I don’t play with her, who would I play with?"

Then he gently nudged the cheeks of the young boy before he fed him the milk portion meant for him and rocked him to sleep. As he finished doing this, Yang walked over, and knocked the door gently. Hao Ren waved his hand to open the door and the young man was surprised but he knew Hao Ren was capable of many things so didn’t say much, and asked, "Baba, there is a young man from the Sunset Peak of the eastern province. This guy has just rising to the governor level, and is already creating chaos. The people don’t know how to react to him."

Hao Ren asked, "What did he do?"

He was curious as to what kind of chaos would there be after such a long time of peace and prosperity. Yang sighed and walked over before he sat down across Hao Ren and said, "He is claiming that the rulers have forgotten the lands and the people, because they don’t travel, and just rule them from the comfort of the Crescent Moon Palace.

He also stated that if the Empress and the Emperor have always been worried about the region, then given their strength, why don’t they come out for a tour and just wait to collect the revenue by sending over the Prime Minister subordinates."

Hao Ren frowned and asked, "Has it been confirmed that there is no evil trap set there?"

Yang nodded and replied, "I have personally led the check and patrols in the region and found that things are really fine, but I have no idea why this guy is even trying such moves. Many times, I have showed up their with the medallion from Ma, but this guy stills goes back to bad mouthing us all. This is not a good thing, what should we do? If the people really began to think that the crown had forgotten about them, they would rebel, no?"

Hao Ren frowned and said, "If the guy is good, then he doesn’t seem to be yelling and brainwashing the normal populace for something. He either has a different goal altogether or he is slowly trying to brew rebellion."

Yang nodded, and said, "This is what we all concluded, but Aunt Lingxue said that Ma should make the decision on how to handle this."

Hao Ren nodded and his fingers began to tap the surface of the armrest, after half an hour, he said, "I think, it would be nice if I go and take a look at this issue personally. All his goals would be laid bare."

Yang asked, "What if something goes wrong?"

Hao Ren thought and replied, "We will see what happens when we face it, don’t worry too much."
