Mario has been busy at work since last night, he had an important deal that needed urgent supervision by Hendrix. Whereas, he wasn’t able to make back home yesterday night.
But that didn’t made him not to drop a message for Marya, who he knew was not on her best attitude these days ever since they figured out that their daughter got fired from work.
Mario has being fighting with the decision, to permanently relocate with his family back to the city. But he’s afraid of what that decision would bring. That would only endanger their life and bring them a foot closer to his father’s grasp.
One can’t be too careful and that was why, they had stayed in Tomorrow town. Mario knew his father too well, and knew that he wouldn’t let him off the hook that easily and he was probably searching for him.
If it was true that his dad was searching for his family, then the only place he wouldn’t search was his city, Suncity. The city belonged to the politician Alex Singh. That includes everything going on, including he illegal dealings of the underworld was all under his control. So nothing escapes his notice here.
The say keep your friends close, but your enemy much closer. That’s why he was still in the city, working under a different name just so he could keep his tabs on him.
But whereas, the town wasn’t really conducive for his child who had been wrongly framed for murder by a ghost. A ghost who he doesn’t even know why he’s out for his daughter, when he could go torture the life of the man who killed him.
So, here he was battling with the urgent need to do something before Narika loses her mind, that wouldn’t be good as Marya wouldn’t give him a breathing space if anything happens to their daughter.
At some point, he was really pushed to give in by allowing them to go back to India. To see Marya’s mother, but that would mean believing in the stupid superstition about their daughter being a special child, but a curse to them.
What sort of parents would go back to the same place for help, where their child was almost killed?
No one! Absolutely no one.
A knock on his office door interrupted Mario’s thoughts, making him jump back to reality and allowed his secretary inside his office.
"I don’t recall calling for your attention, I clearly said that i was busy. So what is it Sandra?" He asked, a little bit harshness lacing his tone but Sandra could understand that he was stressed up.
On a normal day he wasn’t that much of a nag, she did nothing but come forward to relay the news to her boss because it seems he has forgotten so soon.
"I’m sorry to interrupt sir, but I’m here to remind you that the investors from the international stock market would be coming over in ten minutes, and the CEO has requested for your presence at his office." The young girl was right afterwards, because Mario sighed tiredly when he realized that he had forgotten so soon about that.
"Okay, I will be there in a minute. You can leave." Mario excused her, as he stood up from his chair, Taking his blazer from atop of his table and some needed files before going to the elevator headed for Hendrix’s office.
He wasn’t that much in the open about what the investors coming over today, because he has been occupied with work and Hendrix took it upon himself to handle this himself.
"Mr. Singh. I have being waiting for you, they would be arriving soon. You don’t actually know how important this is for me. Did you search them up for me?" Hendrix stood up from his seat, walking over to take his hands out for a handshake before welcoming him to sit down.
Hendrix sounded overexcited for this investors that were coming over, fanning Mario’s interest about who they were because he never really looked into their company.
"I’m sorry, I didn’t..." He tried apologizing, but Hendrix patted his shoulder, smiling at him." It’s okay, I understand."
"Good luck on your new deal though," Mario congratulated him.
"Well the deal isn’t sealed yet, they might change their mind so soon..." Hendrix said, falling back on the seat, but was interrupted by Mario’s ringing phone.
Mario looked to see that it was Marya, he cussed lowly when he realized that he hadn’t called her this morning, and decided not to pick the calls until they were done with the investors, they barely had time.
"Any problem? Is it Narika?" Hendrix’s asked him as he put his cell phone back into his pocket, before smiling at Hendrix. He was right about his boss having a thing for his child.
"Not exactly." He replied with a smile, before Hendrix moved closer to him, he was suddenly shy about what he was about to say.
"Actually i was thinking about inviting you all over for dinner, at the family house. What do you think?" Hendrix scratched the back of his hair, a repetitive action whenever he was nervous.
Mario smiled at his ridiculous way of trying to woo his child, but he couldn’t say that the idea wasn’t good. Afterall, this would give him the time to speak with Hendrix’s mother that had being calling for him.
"I think that’s a good idea. Narika would love that so much." Mario ended the last part, emphasizing much on his daughter loving the last part which made Hendrix smile.
He wanted to say something, but again was interupted by a knock on the door. " They are here." Hendrix announced, standing up and fixing his tie before the door swung open.
"It seems we are right on time Mr. Qing?" A man asked, making way for the sole investor to come closer to engulf Hendrix’s hand in a handshake.
"No, I don’t think so. But you do look different from the pictures." Hendrix said, and he meant that. His appearance was totally different today.
" I like being diverse." Came the reply from the other side, before Hendrix invited them to come closer so that he could introduce them to his assistant.
"Please meet Mario Singh. The director newly incharge of the ASC project." Hendrix said doing his part, by introducing them but the moment Mario looked up to see who their guest was, time stopped for a bit.
There...
There standing infront of him was no other than his stepbrother, Adrian Singh, smirking right at him knowing fully well who he was.
"It’s nice to meet you, Mr. Singh. The name is Adrian Singh. A coincidence on the surname part i think." Killa said, staring right into the shocked face of Adrian’s step brother. The man who is going to die soon.
Oh! His father would be so please today.
