Narika: The Ghost Bride-Chapter 64 - Sixty-Four: It’s Nice To Finally Meet You, Dear Brother.
The underworld.
Adrik’s palace.
~~~
Soon enough, Adrik was slowly regaining his consciousness as he heard some movements around him as his eyes instantly opened. His hands moved up to grab at the neck of the intruder, inside his room and slammed them on the wall in anger.
The overwhelming feeling that rode through him, as the events that went through his mind at Oregon’s palace had his sanity going astray. I’m a demon.
That was the only thing he could understand from what happened, and he didn’t want to believe that. He rather blamed it on Oregon, concluding that the motherfucker had done something to punish him for not listening to him and the Grand Alliance’s order.
"Ma..ster." a feminine voice gave out in pain. She managed to call out to Adrik, who’s attention switched instantly to face the servant that was at his mercy, and held up against the wall. The color drained from her face, as he used his power to strangle her.
He looked into her eyes, and saw the innocence that flashed through her eyes before he pulled away from her, breathing hard before he sat on top of his bed and noticed the nursing equipment beside his bed.
"What happened here?" Adrik asked the young ghost, who was massaging her neck and trying to regain her voice. But she stood up instantly, and faced Adrik not knowing the exact answer for his question.
She knew nothing, the only order she had received from the royal specialist was to make sure that Adrik was okay, and he wasn’t in any pain once he woke up.
"I.. was just ordered to check if you are okay, master. I swear that’s all i know " she blurted out, in fear of her life as Adrik looked up at her, showing that he wasn’t quite satisfied with her answer.
He looked around his room, and then towards the mirror as he took in his appearance. A lot of things had changed about him. His jet black hair had turned silver, and this was nothing a dye could do because it looked natural. Then his normal green eyes that have a streak of red circling the black iris. In short, he looked like some vampire that was locked up in a silver cage for a long time, only to see the world after he had been released from his cage by his beloved.
He wouldn’t say that he didn’t love his new look, if anything he didn’t look like a ghost any more. No, he was far from being a ghost. When his eyes settled upon his hands that were burning up in flames earlier. He shuddered when the scene flashed across his eyes. He was still sensitive about what happened and then this, about his look.
He needed answers!
He didn’t do anything else to jeopardize the girl’s safety, rather he turned to face her and asked in a calm voice." Who sent you here?"
"The Royal specialist. All i know is that you passed out at the lord’s Palace, and then the rest you were transported back here with the Royal Specialist trailing behind Lord Oregon and..." she paused in fear when she realized that she almost said another name so casually.
On a normal day, one would be severely punished for speaking about him like any normal person. When he’s nothing but the ancient ruler of the underworld.
"Who else was here?" Adrik demanded a little bit forceful this time around, leaving the girl with no other option than to confess what she has seen.
"I was..was ordered not to say what i have seen or else my family would be punished." The girl confessed, a trail of tears escaping her eyes when she realized that she was in danger right here.
"What’s your name?" Adrik asked her, he grabbed his black blazer that was hanging around on top of the cushion before he draped it over here before turning to the girl. " I can’t promise to keep your family safe, until you open up and tell me what your name is. As you can see I’m at loose ends here and i want answers, and not just a threat to your life would stop me from getting the answers i need. So you can tell me what i want or you can..."
" Aurora. The name is Aurora. I was forced down here to keep my eyes on you. I’m not a ghost, I’m a witch from the southern part of hell." Aurora said, her hands were fidgeting with what she was doing but it was either this, or she doesn’t know who else to run to for help.
"It’s a promise Aurora. I will protect you and your family as long as you are on my side. I won’t force you to do anything against your wish, but to exist here in my palace. You will have to fully submit to me. I can’t trust so blindly. So tell me one reasons why i should trust you?"
Adrik said, covering the space between them, as she looked between him and the ground. But his hands moved and tilted her head up so that her eyes could be on his own.
"Tell me what i want, Aurora?" He said, without knowing that he might have used his powers and compelled her to tell him what was on her mind.
"You don’t want to trust me, because you can’t see any other ways of getting answers aside from me, because of our connection." Aurora said, making Adrik’s face scrunch up in confusion.
"What sort of connection?"
"Because where we come from, a link ties us all together." Aurora said, before closing the few remaining spaces between them. Her hands moved up to rest atop of his open chest. Her hands moving up to caress his chest in a loving manner, a smirk covering her face as her eyes finally changed its color to that of his.
When Adrik finally understood what was happening, it was too late. She stepped up on her games before placing her lips on his own, and pulled away. A coy smiled on his face before she finally said.
"It’s nice to finally meet you, dear brother. I have heard so much about you from our father."
