Chapter 65: Chapter Sixty-Five: The Fear Of What She Has Become.

" Don’t you think that it’s high time we start being honest with each other?" Marya asked Narika, after the silent treatment that lasted for about an hour between the both of them.

After what had happened outside, Narika has apologized about what she did. But Marya understood that her withdrawal from talking any further, was mainly because she was traumatized that she had nearly killed the both of them for asking about her grandma.

While it was obvious to her that her grandma, was keeping her space between them since after she had married her father, who was not Indian.

Narika understand her life history that well, her own very Grandma was a dictator and wouldn’t find it funny that her granddaughter was accused of murdering someone. But aswell, if they were in India, with her connections. Things wouldn’t have escalated to the point that she was fired from work.

No one would have messed with the granddaughter of the famous seer, Maraj. Nor would they accuse her of Killing a B- level medium who was basically nothing but a con at that.

Narika paused, washing the plate that she was washing after hearing her mother’s statement, but continued afterwards without giving her mother any reply. Until she couldn’t do it anymore.

She busted out into tears, the plates slipping from her hands and falling back into the sink while she bent her head down, the tears coming full time and that made her mother rush up to her, engulfing her into a hug.

"Im sorry mom. Im scared. I don’t know what to do because i think that he’s going to hurt you guys. That’s why i didn’t talk." She said amidst tears, before she couldn’t say anymore but hugged her mother tightly while sobbing on her shoulders.

"It’s okay, I’m here now. Mommy’s here now sweetheart. There’s nothing bad he can do to you anymore, because I’m going to stop this once and for all." Marua said, before extending her hands to her." Come. I want to show you something."

Narika looked up at her mom, cleaning her tears before she took her mother’s hands and followed her as they climbed the stairs, that led to her room before her mother went to a drawer, and tugged it open. She took out a box that looked ancient. Narika has never seen that since she was a kid.

"Sit down." Marya ordered her, as Narika sat on her bed while she sat down infront of her on a chair, and dropped the box beside them.

"What’s that?" Narika asked, her head poking out anxiously to know what was inside there. As long as it’s gonna to stop Adrik from coming to see her, she’s fine with anything her mother does.

Marya ignored her, before unsealing the box and tigged it open. The contents inside made Narika skeptical about coming up here, and trusting that she’s going to stop Adrik for good.

She’s scared.

She’s scared that he’s going to come back, much more angry than he was when he had killed Morgana. Then give her mother a cruel death, for what she’s about to do when her eyes fell upon a talisman.

But at the same time, she came from a family line full of witches and a lot more. So, why can’t you have a little faith in your mom?

Narika asked herself. She kept quiet watching her mother pull some items out before closing the box, the talisman followed with it and alongside a bead designed with evil eyes. It looked creepy, but not creepier than Adrik.

"Your dad doesn’t buy the idea of going back to India, so that your grandma would help ward off this demon. So i.." Marya spoke harshly of Adrik, but Narika interrupted her by defending what she thought Adrik was.

"He’s not a demon." She said, and before she knew it. She asked herself what has gotten into her, for her to think that her mother’s perception of what Adrik was, is going to change what’s going to happen unless he stops pestering her. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚

"Well whatever he is doesn’t matter, because if I’m familiar with his kind they do nothing but try to suck off the living energy in you and render you useless as dead. Don’t ask me why i know this, because i was once in your shoes, my love." Marya said, rubbing her hands nervously. She doesn’t even know the reason why she was bringing this up but she has to do that, for her daughter to stop fantasizing that Adrik has anything but had goodness in him.

"My grandma was once like that. She was fond of me when she was alive. That’s what prompted the obsession with me when she died. But she didn’t hurt me, that’s the difference between her and Adrik. He has no reasons whatsoever to come for you."

Marya said, before going for the evil eye talisman. She wrapped it around Narika’s left hand, a blue light giving out when it settled on around her arm, that made Narika hissed from the pain that followed with having such charm around her.

"It hurts," she said faintly, looking at her hand that was brushing from the bead around her wrists.

"No it doesn’t. " Marya said, trying to comprehend why it was hurting her. Until something dawned on her, and she stood up with wide eyes." It won’t hurt if he hasn’t let his essence inside you. Please tell me that you haven’t been intimate with him Sweetheart?"

Narika’s mouth went agape." Mom seriously?" She scoffed." Why would i want to do that with a dead man? it hurts." She complained one more time, before she yanked the bead from her hand when she couldn’t endure the pain any longer, and stepped away from it only to see her inflamed wrists.

"Let me see." Marya said, taking her hand up to her eyes as before their very eyes, the bruise around her wrist healed instantly.

When Marya looked up to talk to her, her eyes caught something glowing from Narika’s neck, as it reflected in the mirror.

"Mom, what’s wrong?" Narika asked her, but her mother was in a world of her own. " Mom, stop it you are scaring me." She shouted, but it was useless telling her mother to stop behaving so strangely because she pushed her to sit on the bed, and moved her head to the side only to see a mark on Narika’s neck that had her wishing that what she was seeing wasn’t real.

"No!" Marya yelled stepping away from her, fear written in her eyes. But what she didn’t know was that everything she was doing was scaring her daughter, and fear wasn’t something good for Narika because her powers always triggers whenever she’s scared. "Please, not my child." Marya cried.

"Mom, what’s happening" Narika asked.

She suddenly felt a strange sensation invading her body, it was just like the last time in her dreams when she encountered those red eyes.

She turned to the mirror, since her mother was still moving backwards as if she has seen a ghost. But when her eyes connected with her red fiery ones, she let out a bloody scream that shooked the whole house, and bursted every bulbs within. Disconnecting every light in the house.

"What am i?" She asked no one, not even her mother was able to answer her question. Narika used her powers insearch of where her mother was in the dark, only to see that her mother had passed out in fear of what she had become.

A monster!
