Chapter 54: Chapter Fifty- Four: He’s Not His Biological Father.

The underworld.

Adrik’s palace.

Finally he was in a good mood, it was very obvious with the way he was humming along to his favorite song, when he appeared back into his room.

It was rare to see him this happy, if anything the only time he was ever this happy has been the first time he found out that Narika was Polina’s blood.

That was mainly because of his plan to avenge the death of Polina, who he thought was dead but right now, his theory had changed and he vowed to find out what exactly Oregon was hiding from him.

He wasn’t dumb. Whatever it was is the reason why he isn’t allowed yet to hurt, or appear before Alex Singh only meant that it was a significant matter.

It was just a matter of time before he goes against his wishes, and does away with the man who is the reason why he’s here in the first place.

But as of now, he’s making do with the possession in his hands. A very precious possession at that, he couldn’t wait to see the look of dread on Alex’s face when he finds out about Narika.

Would he be happy that he has a granddaughter?

That question certainly deserved an answer, but Adrik knew that there’s a strong chance of Alex trying to kill Narika. Afterall, she’s nothing but the offspring of a disowned child.

But not on his watch, Narika can’t die. He’s the only one to end this all, and until then nobody is allowed to hurt her, the only person entitled to do so is him alone. Her owner.

With that being said, the ghost went further to his wine cellar to bring out one of his prized collection. Adrik was a heavy drinker, and he loved his wine as much as he loved Polina.

He drowned the first glass down his patched throat, feeling the contents burn along his tongue. He gushed in the feeling, closing his eyes to enjoy the peace he had now.

With his favorite song by One direction’ End of the day’ playing, coupled with his favorite drink always at his beck and call. Was life not good?

The young man put on a fake show, as if he didn’t know this lovely evening would have been far more lovely, if Tagon was here to keep him company.

Speaking of Tagon, he heard a rumor a few days ago about him going to the pit of hell to serve Lucifer. Not that it did bother him since he had no responsibility here, he wasn’t a recognized Definite like him, but leaving without saying goodbye. That sure hurt him.

But whereas he was the one who hurt him first, by bringing a woman between their friendship, and punching him too. Adrik you aren’t all that Innocent.

His mind chastised him, and he looked unhappy and guilty before he knew it. He dropped the cup of wine back down, and tried drowning his thoughts by taking out the bag of coke that he was hiding in the drawers.

Adrik was a full time addict, and this had brought up a lot of problems between him and Polina when they were alive. But she doesn’t understand that this was his escape from the problem of the world.

When he’s high, he’s free of his father’s antagonization. His father hasn’t been the best father since he was born. At some point, he had to suspect that he wasn’t his real dad after hearing the argument between him and his mother.

He was just ten, but he fully heard everything. Jason wasn’t his real dad and her mother had a one night stand during the first year of marriage with some unknown stranger.

At first, he was fascinated about the fact that Jason, his imposter father, didn’t divorce his mother. But when he grew up to age to understand how the family business ran. He understood the reason for that, and that was simply because his mother was the one who calls the shots.

Jason Ivanov was a nobody until he met Marilyn Monroe. Their love story was a really complicated one, due to the fact that his mother’s family were against a nobody like Jason marrying their daughter.

That was until she showed up pregnant with him, Jason isn’t his biological father but due to his love for his mother, and his obsession to be on the top of the food chain. He succeeded to keep this to himself, and treated him as his son till now.

Nobody knows about this, not even Vanessa, his real child and he appreciates the fact that he had kept this secret to himself till now. But at this point of time, Adrik had finally gotten to understand that it was just a scope. Everything was just an act so he could still be the king in Country Z.

But until when would he keep up with the act?

According to his last conversation with Vanessa, he had learned that their father isn’t planning on giving up yet until Alex Singh pays for the pain he had caused him, especially his mother.

He hasn’t thought about showing up in front of his father, but who knows if he can’t handle this, and ends up going crazy. It’s not everyday that your dead son, who was buried five years ago shows up suddenly?

Waving the thoughts of his father aside when a knock was heard on his door, a maid appeared in front of him with her head bowed down in fear.

"The overlord requests your presence immediately," The servant relayed the message which had Adrik frowning his face.

What does he want?

The last time he remembered he wasn’t among the Grand Alliance, so what exactly does he want from him?

He thought until he remembered Sakura, so much for Narina being on his mind twenty four seven. He didn’t remember any longer that Sakura still needed to be put in place for threatening to hurt Narika.

He dismissed the servant, before he put back the coke inside the drawer. Since his night of rest had been disturbed.

Maybe this was Polina’s way of not letting him take it?

Was she watching over him?

Is she in the heavens?

With a snap of his hands, he was dressed in his all black attire. Just like his black heart. His hair in a quiff before he took one last look at himself in the mirror.

"Polina baby, where are you?"

He asked no one in particular, before taking his golden cane that was somewhat his entrance through Oregon’s palace, and before a twinkle of an eye. He disappeared in a puff of black smoke.
