Chapter 53: Chapter Fifty-Three: We Have Found The Child.

That night Narika wasn’t able to sleep, how could she do so when her mind had failed to do anything but wander off to dwell in Adrik’s proposal?

Just like all times, it was just her alone in the house. Her mother had gone to the hospital for the night shift, and her dad was obviously not coming home tonight.

She was glad that Adrik had given her a breathing space tonight, unlike the very first time that he had followed her to her house.

But the loneliness was on another level. Her mind went off to the good old times, when she would have gone to Zoe’s place for a sleepover, or when she would come to her place and then they would talk about anything, until they fell asleep.

But that good memory, and the person in it was no longer a friend. Right now, there was a deep hollow space in her heart, a dark room where Zoe and everything that has to do with her, had been locked up in her heart.

If there was a heart to love, definitely there is still a way for hate to creep in once that love had been questioned and taken for granted.

With Zoe being the last thing in her mind, the young girl wrapped her hands around the big teddy that served as a sort of comfort to her burdened soul.

Before she knew it, she was out like a light into another dimension called the Dreamland. But she wasn’t so sure that this was any dream, because it certainly seemed like she was lost in space.

It was just her alone in a red room that gave off creepy vibes, it had goosebumps trailing up her arms and her survival instincts kicked in when she saw what seemed like an odd creature, from a far distance walking her way.

She wondered how exactly she was able to see that from where she stood, and able to notice that it wasn’t human with the odd form it took. But she didn’t give a damn care whatever it was, all she wanted was to get out.

So when she turned to search for the door, she was shocked to see that there was no door nor any window. She was just locked up with no way out.

Narika whimpered when she heard an eerie cackle coming from the creature’s part. She wasn’t a fan of horror movies, and what she’s hearing right now was definitely horror itself.

"Adrik, if this is a joke please let me out," Narika pleaded, this was no time to start acting so coy with him. She needed rest but rather he had pulled her into one of his mind games, but it felt all too real.

With the closeness of the uncanny creature getting near, Narika backed away to the wall and called for Adrik, for what seemed like ten consecutive times but got no answer from him.

" This isn’t real," She closed her eyes, mumbling to herself while praying that the next moment she opened her eyes let all this be as she suspected it to be, nothing but all a prank of Adrik.

Well that’s what she thought, until she opened her eyes and let out a loud scream when her eyes got stuck on red fiery ones that belonged to the unshaped creature that took the form of a human in front of her.

She was yanked up against the wall when she tried to run, and her hands gave out, dragging the hands of the creature so she could release herself from the grip of the beast in front of her.

It was huge, with spikes coming out of its body that felt all too real for something that she imagined it to be from how horror movies were.

"Let..me go!" She cussed, and luck was suddenly on her side because her hand moved out to pop at the eyes of the creature, making her fall to the ground when it moved away from her.

Her legs betrayed her by not moving , and she felt the hold of something against her. It was just as if she was being hexed or something.

" No no..not now,"She said in fear, trying to crawl if possible only to be slammed to the wall again, she was face to face with the creature again. But this time, it did something outrageous by jerking her head forcefully to the side, to expose her neck to its red eyes.

"Wha...t are ..you doing?" She asked, stuttering when she felt its talons gliding around a spot on her neck. Was it trying to drink her blood?

It groaned when she struggled against its hold, and when its eyes connected with her brown ones. Narina felt some pull, it felt as if she knew those eyes from somewhere but where exactly?

"Please let me go," she pleaded again, when it looked away from her and back to her neck, to the same spot that its talon was rubbing at, until she shook with force when something sharp pierced into the side of her neck.

"Noo!" She screamed, feeling the wet dripping of blood against her neck, sliding down to her clothes. What is this thing?

What is happening to her?

What does this creature want from her?

That was a whole lot of questions that needed answers to, but she felt her eyes closing. She felt drowsy only to hear the creature speak. It’s rough voice awakening something that was asleep in her.

"Ostende te paululum." The demon commanded in a griff latin tone, he commanded the soul lying within her to come to life, and with that it felt her body convulsing against its hold.

( Show yourself, little one.)

He looked right back at her, to notice the way her white eyes shot back at him in anger. In heightened anger that it was too late for him to curtail what exactly was happening, before he was flung away from her into the wall.

He tried to stand up, but she had used her powers to hold him down just like he had done a few hours ago. She’s strong!

He took notice of that, but that doesn’t mean that she’s the one they were searching for.

She hoisted him up in the air, but her power was still new to her and that gave him the upper hand to knock himself off her hex, and before she could tell what’s happening. He struck an ancient looking knife that was dripping with blood into her neck.

An ear piercing scream left her lips, as she fell to the ground roaring in pain. Narika rolled on the floor while trying to get the knife from her neck, she wondered how exactly she was still alive.

"This would all be over soon," The creature said with a satisfied smirk hanging on its face, it derived joy seeing her this way and that ticked off something in her, before she let out a loud banshee-like scream that sent him flying back with her hovering in the air.

It cried in pain and before her watchful eyes, it burst into a puff of black smoke that made Narika cringed, but before she could do anything else, a palm from nowhere touched the area on her neck where a streak of red light was coming from.

"Sleep, little witch." The voice said before everything went dark, but not without her hearing a voice that said.

"She’s the one, we have found the child."
