Myriad Devils-Chapter 331: How ludicrous, this life
The sea of flames was so vast that it was impossible to discern an end to it, no matter the direction one looked in.
Somewhere within the midst of this flaming ocean, Elshen appeared before the only cosmic treasure within this Nether Soul Realm Heaven, stretching out toward it.
The main treasure was a painting the size of two human heads. It depicted the current scenes within the Nether Soul Realm Heaven.
It did not attempt to resist his grasp, causing his lips to curl upwards.
"You... From now on, you are Heart Dominating Painting."
The painting trembled and suddenly shrank to the size of a fingernail.
It burst forth with speed, appearing before Elshen’s forehead in the blink of an eye, and seeped into his glabella.
But before it could completely enter, it was pushed out by another force.
The Heart Dominating Painting trembled in confusion.
After, it slowly approached his bottom lip before seeping into his lip. The color of his lips switched from a tender pinkish color to a pale purple.
His pale, purple lips sharply curled upwards.
"A great success."
The Nether Lake Realm Heaven began destabilizing with the disappearance of this treasure.
He replicated a sword’s movement with his right hand and made a vertical slashing motion.
It resulted in a large split that separated space and opened a pathway back to the Nether Lake outside the Realm Heaven.
Stepping out of the split, his foot landed on a terrified human face.
He casually walked atop the surface of the Nether Lake.
The two avatars and Maddison were still present.
The moment he stepped out of the Nether Soul Realm Heaven, their eyes lit up. Even though they were observing everything that occurred, their hearts were restless until this point.
Naturally, this was not their original natures.
Thereafter, they sent him quizzical gazes upon seeing him approach them.
Maddison could not resist asking, "So, how does the legendary Realm Father traverse between the Heavens? Do you have some unique inherent trait, or is it a cosmic treasure?"
He paused slightly and asked, "Or does it have something to do with the person behind Realm Father Elshen?"
When hearing his words, Elshen was immediately reminded of Astaria’s attitude toward his ’unprincipled acts’.
Suffering from the temptation of the ungodly nature, this was no fault of his.
A strange expression etched itself across his face, causing Maddison to flash a worrisome gaze upon seeing it.
He mistakenly believed that he had said something off-putting.
The two avatars also gave him subtle glances, making his heart drop slightly.
Elshen thought deeply for a moment.
How was he going to say that the person behind him was a little unreliable at times?
"Well, you see..."
His words had only just exited his mouth before his entire figure was embraced by a set of kaleidoscopic colors.
There was a sense of being elevated, as if being carried to a higher Heaven.
In truth, Mythralis was situated at the bottom of Elven creation, the very fundamental building block that supported the entire Elven territory.
However, this was the central planet of a prime region after all.
It was to be expected, when his abstract soul was pulled toward Mythralis, he felt a sense of being elevated.
Mythralis was inherently a higher-dimensional space. Comparatively speaking, Elshen had not reached the same level of existence.
Right after his departure, the Great Lord’s avatar dispersed into smoky tendrils of dark energy that returned to the ground.
The Boundless Light Empress’s avatar turned to Maddison and instructed, "He never mentioned how much time we have remaining, so you should use this time wisely."
The prince nodded his head in understanding.
Although the Empress was basically ordering him not to return to the Palace of Light, he thought that her reasoning was sound.
Thereafter, her avatar became more translucent, slowly disappearing from his perception.
He pursed his lips before sighing.
Taking a deep look around, a mocking smile tugged at his lips.
He was mocking no one else but himself.
"Oh, how ludicrous is this life? My youngest sister, it was here where he heartlessly ended your life, was it not?"
He observed the Nether Lake area with a meaningful gaze.
"Dear Maarsha, you will have to forgive this useless elder brother." He muttered.
"Even though you were wrongfully killed, your useless elder brother has been busy intermingling with your own murderer."
"Worst of all, I have retained mental clarity, but I do not hate him."
"I can’t even fathom, I can’t even fathom..." He released a helpless sigh.
The Dark Elf’s powers were not as vicious as Elshen’s means.
When the former controlled a creature’s heart, it would skew their reasoning and perception, and the Dark Elf’s power would alter their very core of thoughts.
Elshen held the means to achieve complete control over the heart, and yet, the creature maintained full clarity; their thoughts were not affected, and they would remain perfectly perceptive of their own actions.
Though Maddison, the Boundless Light Empress, the Great Lord, and the Lady of Dazzling Lights had all realized something awry, they were simply incapable of mustering any thoughts of resistance.
It was like an addiction to something harmful.
Even though one knew that it was harmful, and they wanted to stop, the urges were simply too strong, too irresistible.
Evidently, this comparison was not fully accurate.
This addiction was infinitely greater than any mortal addiction. Their bodies acted before their minds churned thoughts.
Their mouths opened and closed, and their tongues made promises outside of their control.
Every experience was horrifying; at least, they knew that this was a terrifying power, but they themselves did not feel the terror.
Even as he began departing from the Nether Lake region, he could not stop thinking of him.
"This is complete superiority. Realm Father Elshen, you are completely superior." Prince Maddison smiled, his eyes heated, and his tongue sang praises.
He did not retreat to the ancient cloud pathway, but made his way to the nearby regions.
If he was going to successfully fulfill Elshen’s intentions, a strenuous journey awaited him.
To unite the two Atavistic Empires, it first started with the people.
Everyone must be of one heart!
