Myriad Devils-Chapter 320: Rebirth
Kaleidoscopic colors enveloped the Boundless Light Empress. These colors intertwined and collided against each other, swallowing the entire throne for countless miles high.
They appeared alive, slithering like snakes at all times.
Their movements, which had not stopped for many years, suddenly began slowing down visibly.
Before Margaret’s eyes, a humanoid figure much smaller than the throne, shrouded in breathtaking lights for billions of miles, stepped out of the lightshow.
She was dressed in a golden gown that glittered with gold dust.
Margaret had a halo above her head, but the Boundless Light Empress had a much larger and more intricate halo of light behind her figure.
Her yellow, gold hair appeared to be at neck length, but it actually cascaded down her back, hanging below her knees.
The moment her delicate feet landed on the ground, she appeared less than a step away from her daughter, who did not dare to raise her head.
Boundless Light Empress silently assessed her eldest daughter.
At the same time, a smoky green wind began slowly assimilating within the throne room, causing her observing gaze to shift slightly away from her daughter.
Materializing in the air was the frozen image of a familiar silhouette. Thereafter, he elegantly walked out of the frozen image.
The prince had an endearing smile on his beautiful face.
He glanced around with intrigue.
There was the pillar of light that contained the remnant soul of the Fourth princess.
There was the figure of the eldest daughter.
There was the true body of the Boundless Light Empress.
"Mother, is this the great fortune that her destiny attracted?" His lips were already curved upwards, and he teased.
Unlike the Lady of Dazzling Light, he was much more casual when speaking to the Empress.
The respect in his tone was not obvious, nor was he particularly disrespectful either.
Like a son speaking to his mother, rather than an entity at the Secondary-Level speaking to a creature at the Primary-Level.
Margaret thought exactly this, causing her to turn toward him with a scowling face.
Nevertheless, he acted as if he did not see her expression.
Even though they may be more powerful than he, it was almost as if he did not fear either of these two.
The Boundless Light Empress remained silent at her son’s words.
She stepped past Margaret and approached the beacon of light containing Maarsha’s remnant soul.
A smile tugged at her lips, and she suddenly chuckled.
"I always wonder why my own children question my decisions. Each of your lives is an example to the other, but you all still fail to see." 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
"When have I ever been wrong?" She placed her hand against the light pillar. Immediately, it trembled, and a complex aura escaped the remnant soul within.
This was not an unfathomable aura, but something even more incomprehensible.
"Margaret, answer me this. What is more valuable to a Realm Mother such as Maarsha? A Supreme Top-Tier cosmic treasure, or an abstract soul?"
A Realm Mother such as Maarsha.
Maarsha was the fourth princess of the Celestial Heart Atavistic Empire.
Even though a Supreme Top-Tier cosmic treasure was a great fortuity, it paled in comparison to a mere Realm Mother who was able to nurture an abstract soul.
More strikingly, this Supreme Top-Tier cosmic treasure was nurtured in the nightscape forbidden land where the secrets of Heaven & Earth were obscured.
Who knew what type of Realm Heaven this was, or what Supreme Top-Tier cosmic treasure resided within?
Supreme Top-Tier cosmic treasures could be acquired with some effort, but nurturing an abstract soul as a mere Realm Mother was not something attained through effort alone.
How many Realm Fathers/Mothers with abstract souls have appeared throughout the Elven race’s history?
Less than two handfuls!
And now, there was another.
Prince Maddison knitted his brows slightly.
Just then, the trembling increased, and several spider-webbed splits began to take shape on the surface of the beacon of light.
Crack...!!
An opening appeared, and from it, a murky gathering of swirling golden essence slowly exited the light pillar.
Seemingly drawn toward the Empress, the golden essence drifted to her open right palm.
The Empress assessed the essence of her Fourth daughter’s existence. The golden essence took on the many ever-changing shapes.
It was as if it contained infinite mysteries.
Sometimes it appeared to be a swirling mass of energy, and other times it manifested as droplets of golden liquid.
The rotating essence contained Maarsha’s consciousness, will, thoughts, perception, and existential self.
These things were all intertwined, and it was not easy to deduce what was what.
After spending a moment to observe Maarsha’s essence, the Empress smiled.
She was very pleased by the transformation that had taken place, but it did not mean that she would easily overlook the matter.
There was a reason why Realm Father Elshen was titled ’the incomprehensible realm father’.
Even the Dimension Lords could not deduce much about him.
’Who really knows if he has the means to assume Maarsha’s appearance?’ The Empress silently thought.
Obviously, she had made certain that this was not the case before she had healed Maarsha’s soul, and she only made sure once again.
Thereafter, she parted her tender lips and gently blew into the essence.
After facing near annihilation, Maarsha had fallen into an unconscious state.
Thankfully, with the breath of the Empress, her consciousness was stirred, and her perception recovered at an exaggerated pace.
Before the three distinct gazes, the swirling golden essence released waves of realm power.
This was an aura that was much more complex compared to the previous Maarsha.
This aura solidified, materializing into the form of a girl adorned in golden armor. She had pale blue skin, silvery hair, and violet eyes.
She had a cold, expressionless face that released a much darker light than before.
This girl!
Her eyes radiated an intensity unlike the previous Maarsha.
No.
Was this even Maarsha?
Maddison and Margaret simultaneously squinted their eyes; however, the Empress’s smile continued to grow wider.
Maarsha ignored her siblings and bowed toward her mother, "High Mother, your foresight is unparalleled, and your means are boundless."
After her words fell, she dropped a knee and looked at her mother’s feet. The wisps of aura that escaped her figure manifested a faintly discernible imagery.
"I pray that the World Tree blesses the High Mother with paradisical success!"
