Chapter 319: Weighty silence

The Great Lord stared at Mystifying Jade Fantasy in a stunned silence.

"You, you... Are you saying, Realm Father controls your heart!?"

Mystifying Jade Fantasy dropped her head when the words of the Great Lord fell. This was indeed a very shameful matter.

Dark Elves, even if they could sway the hearts of men and control their minds through temptation, were unable to control their own kind so easily.

And since only the Dark Elf Lineage manipulated and controlled the hearts of others, it was practically impossible for a Dimension Lord with an abstract soul like the Mystifying Jade Fantasy to see her own heart of desires out of her control.

But the Great Lord was standing before her, and these were her words...

"Hehe... didn’t you come here because you thought he had died?" Mystifying Jade Fantasy had a heavy voice when she said this.

"Now, I’ve clarified that he isn’t dead, but you’re focusing on other things."

She was very embarrassed by the entire scenario.

She was essentially begging the Great Lord to overlook this matter, or at least, never mention it again.

The Great Lord also saw through the meaning behind her words, smiling stiffly. The more she thought about this, the more disbelief filled her mind. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

"Can he manifest an avatar from as far as the 15th Heaven through the connection between you two?" The Great Lord suddenly questioned.

She didn’t care much about the Mystifying Jade Fantasy’s feelings.

After all, upon hearing this, beyond the shock of it all, she was greatly intrigued. Her words caused Mystifying Jade Fantasy to lower her head even more.

Her voice was akin to a faint whisper, "He has never manifested an avatar through our connection before. However, I don’t doubt his capability of doing so."

The woman dressed in white frowned.

"He has not appeared before you in what, seventy or so years, but your heart still has not escaped his control?"

It was already one thing for a Dark Elf with an abstract soul to lose control over their own heart of desires, but seventy years had gone by, and Elshen had never stimulated her soul during this time, yet she was still unable to regain control.

The Great Lord looked at her with a peculiar gaze.

If her head could’ve lowered any further, at this moment, it would’ve.

"You would not understand until you understand." Mystifying Jade Fantasy shook her head, saying helplessly.

"But if you do understand, it will be too late."

Hmph!

The Great Lord scoffed lightly.

"For how long had I warned all my sisters?"

"Before nurturing an abstract soul, it’s important for your Willpower to reach the cusp of the Fourth Level."

"You would not be in this situation with a Level Four willpower!"

As these words escaped her lips, her body slowly turned translucent, disappearing from the room.

"I don’t think so..." Mystifying Jade Fantasy frowned, about to say something.

But when she looked toward the Great Lord, she was already gone. By the time the Great Lord’s words were complete, she had completely disappeared.

This was the Great Lord.

Amongst the many members of the Dark Elf Lineage, the Great Lord was simply the most powerful.

It was said that she had a connection to each member of the Dark Elf Lineage.

Through this connection, she could manifest herself as an avatar even across vast distances.

This was her physique’s inherent trait, but that was speculation.

From the moment of Elshen’s disappearance, Mystifying Jade Fantasy had remembered his easily forgettable jest and begun fathoming a possibility.

This was how the Great Lord came to know of Elshen’s approaching appearance.

With such knowledge backing her deductions, she was able to deduce even more deeply than the Boundless Light Empress.

There were millions and millions of possibilities for the future of the World Space, and Elshen existed in a minimal number of them.

The Boundless Light Empress still deduced this much without prior knowledge. It showed her capabilities.

She then began weaving destiny, effectively raising the chances of Elshen’s appearance to assist her in whatever she schemed.

At the same time, the Great Lord had her own schemes.

Due to the Mystifying Jade Fantasy, she had much more in-depth knowledge of Elshen. With the backing of her knowledge, she believed that she was in control of the situation.

With her setting up such a scenario, there was no way Elshen would’ve messed that up. At least, according to the knowledge Mystifying Jade Fantasy had given her.

He was apparently a shrewd person.

What was so shrewd about getting himself killed in a situation that was initially so favorable for him?

This was why she had immediately manifested before Mystifying Jade Fantasy.

.....

"So, High Mother, I do wonder, what exactly was the reason behind all of this?" Margaret observed a massive column of resplendent energy.

This multicolored column was situated within the bounds of the throne room, and it reached up into the endless infinite space above.

The throne alone was trillions of miles tall, and this column stood erect, its true height indiscernible as well.

Within this column was Maarsha’s soul.

She was only alive thanks to Margaret’s decisiveness and, thereafter, her great speed.

To maneuver from the palace of light to the nightscape forbidden land through the ancient cloud pathway had taken several minutes for Maarsha and Protector Relief.

But Margaret was much, much faster.

Without the ancient cloud pathway, this would not be possible.

It would’ve taken several decades to cross the distance separating the Palace of Light and the nightscape forbidden land through usual means.

The Boundless Light Empress was enveloped by endless light.

Her silence was weighty.

Finally, she voiced her thoughts to the First princess, "This is her fortune."

Her emotionless voice shook Margaret’s body, but this was something that she had experienced more times than once.

"High Mother, you say this is for us, but with all due respect, I would like to know how her death is more fortuitous than the Realm Heaven soon to appear in the Nether Lake?"

Margaret did not dare lift her head when she said this.

Gritting her teeth, she continued, "There is nothing so fortuitous about her soul almost dissipating in her elder sister’s hands."

When her words fell, a familiar weighty silence followed.

This silence felt to Margaret like the weight of a dimension pressing against her mind.

"Is that so?" The Empress’s voice was icy and unfeeling.
