Myriad Devils-Chapter 154: Beneficial separation
"Since you know how to deal with the remnant souls, there’s no reason for us to descend into the same abyss. We’ll only be getting in each other’s way." Seth said coldly.
On the other hand, he thought inwardly, ’Just seeing those eyes is like seeing the Human Lord’s. Who knows what’ll happen if I lose control of my demonic nature.’
’I’m not supposed to be here, so if I lost control and attack him with killing intent, the laws would use that opportunity to directly get rid of the incarnations in this world and even bless him with fortune in adversity.’
’Instead of wasting this opportunity, it’s much simpler to separate from Anon for a time and vent in another abyss. Once I’m back in complete control, it wouldn’t be too late to reunite.’
’Though the lost land is vast, it is, after all, the territory of my new world order. No matter what happens, he wouldn’t be able to simply disappear.’ Seth’s thoughts flashed rapidly.

Anon remained silent for a while before nodding his head, "Indeed, I also had such a thought. But I didn’t expect that you would actively wish to separate from me." Anon teased.
"Oh? Do I look like your father?" Seth replied, brushing past Anon with a flash and heading toward another abyss some miles away.
As he distanced himself from Anon, the latter observed his figure and spoke softly, "No, it’s because I know that the devil wishes to observe me at all times."
Seeing as Seth truly left him, Anon remained in silence, not moving from that spot for some time. He quickly replayed the past events in his mind.
’Willpower? The soul...’ Anon’s eyes revealed traces of amusement, ’It appears that, in this mind swallowing abyss, an opportunity is waiting. An advantage? I’ll certainly spare no effort to devour any advantage I can get my hands on!’
The bloodlust in Seth’s eyes, and the fluctuations of demonic aura as he learned of Anon’s intentions in entering the mind swallowing abyss... these things did not slip Anon’s perception.
Now that his body was in the third world, his perception had returned to a stage almost comparable to the time when his spirit was in its peak state.
The spirit nurtures the body, and in turn, the body nurtures the spirit.
For example, when the spirit reaches a higher world, the body also evolved. A third world spirit would have a body at the second world as a base level.
The same logic applied here.
Although his spirit was injured, it was actually recovering thanks to his body’s evolution. So his senses were also returning.
To boot, his five senses were even more heightened than his sixth sense back then. He could physically feel the bloodlust and demonic aura when he had revealed his intentions to Seth, so it wasn’t hard for him to put two and two together.
’If I’m not careful, even against the weakest remnant souls, by combatting them with my own soul, it makes me susceptible to losing myself within the mind swallowing abyss.’ Anon solemnly pondered.
’However, if I can instead swallow them, it will stimulate the growth of my soul, and also directly strengthen my willpower at the most fundamental level.’ His eyes glowed with resolve.

With the recovery of his spirit, though he could not will stellar cosmic energy as yet, at the very least, his thoughts flowed much more rapidly.
And after his knowledge expanded, and he became more experienced, Anon also grew, not just in battle power, but in the more delicate areas of life as well.
His deduction abilities might not be the best, but it had certainly grown, so it was not the worst.
Anon smiled.
’Willpower is important yes, but in the five worlds of magic cultivation, it isn’t so important that he’d have such a reaction.’ Anon’s smile grew wider.
If this was the case...
’It can only mean that it has a more important role to play outside these worlds!’

Anon’s heart began beating rapidly.
What did it mean by ’outside the world’?
’I always wanted to know what it’s like as an Otherworldly Knight. It seems that I’m beginning to understand a little more... about things incomprehensible to mortals.’ Anon mused internally, finally concluding his analysis.
’Maybe I’m wrong,’ He thought.
Then, his eyes turned toward the nearby mind swallowing abyss.
He approached the abyss, standing at the edge as he looked down, ’But if I’m right, then I’ll make sure that this isn’t a flaw in endgame!’
Evidently, both his father and the devil knew that he’d cover this aspect now that he was aware of it, and since they knew, he couldn’t secretly strengthen his will. It simply couldn’t be used as a trump card, however he would make sure it wouldn’t be used against him either.
’But if it is useful, then it would’ve been True father who revealed this knowledge to me, not father himself. Unless, of course, this is the human lord’s scheme. After all, the human lord must also have his own plans, and he knows that I wish to sever his head from his shoulders.’
Sigh...
Anon closed his eyes and took a deep breath in.
As he exhaled, he reopened his eyes. The two small suns spun rapidly, shining with a divine light that desired to embrace the world.
The mouth of the mind swallowing abyss had a radius spanning over a dozen miles. It was incredibly large.
As he stepped into the empty void before him, Anon walked on an invisible platform, step by step, descending the flight of unseen stairs.
What laid before his eyes was a dark aura that could not be penetrated even by his radiant gaze.
On the walls of the abyss were deep cavities.
He could not see the interior, however he was decently knowledgeable about the mind swallowing abyss, so he approached the closest cavity.
As he did so, his eyes abruptly widened as realization dawned on him.
’It was the same thing with the drifting rock territory.’
’For some reason, I just so happened to gloss over the contents of this mind swallowing abyss, a special region within the lost lands. This must be his doing...’
’I know very well that the human lord’s power is incomprehensible, but it does not feel good knowing that I’m running around in the palm of his hands, moving along with his whim.’ Anon couldn’t help but sigh at this.
Simply put, he did not have the strength to realize, much less resist.
So weak that it was despairing!
’The deeper one descends into the mind swallowing abyss, the more terrifying the spirit one may encounter.’ Anon recalled the contents in the books he previously glossed over.
’I have not experienced the power of remnant souls, much less the wraiths residing deeper in this mind swallowing abyss, so its best to start of with the weaker ones.’ Anon mused to himself as he stepped foot into one of the cavities in the wall of the abyss.
’After all, if I’m going to reach the bottom of the mind swallowing abyss, I’ll need to be more cautious than usual. There’s no Seth to save my tail this time, and at the same time, I must also hone my willpower to the utmost.’ A trace of determined light shone in his radiant gold eyes.
’I can’t let that devil be above me in realm, battle techniques, knowledge, and willpower too!’

Within the cavity, darkness reigned supreme. If an ordinary person was present, the darkness would make them genuinely question whether their eyes were open or closed.
However, as someone physically in the third world, Anon’s sight was so powerful that even in the darkest environment, he saw clearly.
In the darkness, his fiery eyes were like two golden torches lighting up the path.
The path forward within was quite spacious. At least seven or eight humans wide, and over a dozen humans tall, it was not cramped whatsoever.
Anon was quite relaxed with his hands crossed over his chest. His clothing failed to hide his exceptionally toned build, whilst his face appeared to’ve been crafted by divinity.
It was no secret that he was attractive, however after entering the third world in the physical aspect, his allure had entered a new world.
It was a pity, he wasn’t asexual, at least he thought so... and yet, no one made him feel desire.
Though the closest one was Elizabeth, even then, he had only thought that he would not mind settling down with her if he was an ordinary person.
He had not crossed paths with anyone capable enough.
Though Catharina was a beauty, and her talent was exceptional, it was only that.
If one desired to interest him, then they could only start with talent beyond mortal comprehension, and even then, it was the minimum requirement.
How many earthlings matched that requirement?
Besides the human lord, and the human generals, then there was only Seth.
It wasn’t that he was prejudice or sexually inflexible...
Firstly, Seth was destined to be slayed by Anon, or vice-versa.
And secondly, no matter how hard he tried, the devil would be incapable... No, on second thought, who knew what powers existed in this world?
Anyways, maybe when he was free some time in the future, he could search the universe for the mother of his progeny.

’Look at the state of my thoughts.’ Anon almost wanted to chuckle.
However, before his radiant eyes, a strange aura could not remain hidden. Following which, an ear-piercing scream resounded.
