Chapter 149: Overwhelmed

Anon’s situation was at a breaking point. There were countless wounds throughout his body, and blood continuously spilled from his orifices.

One of his arms had been reduced to a state where most of it was torn off, and the rest revealed his bones. It barely hung onto the rest of his flesh.

Warm tears of blood streamed down his cheeks uncontrollably as he retreated.

But the short white beast man had seen this human retreat like this on multiple occasions and then utilize the gourd on his waist to mystically recover from his injuries.

The short white beast man might be a beast, but as a mid-level beast general, even with its low intellect, it wasn’t to the point that it moved solely on instinct.

Anon did not have the necessary time. As he was about to remove the longevity healing gourd from his waist, the short white beast man attacked.

The short white beast man’s arms came from both sides, but just as Anon was about to evade, a second pair of arms came from behind, penetrating his flesh.

As Anon’s false body exploded, he had already jumped into the sky. The muscles all over his body tensed tightly as he resisted for as long as he physically could, remaining suspended in the air for some time.

However, the illusory pull gravity had, inevitably encompassed his entire body, pulling him towards the earth. At the same time, the short white beast man flew into the air and attacked from above.

In the blink of an eye, six pairs of arms were approaching him from all directions. Though Anon dodged as best as he could for as long as possible, he truly could not keep up.

It did not take long for an arm to crash into his frame. Anon’s flesh caved in as the force contained within this one arm traveled through Anon’s body, causing a violent shock internally.

Simultaneously, it picked his body up and forcefully dragged him across the landscape of the drifting rock.

Anon faced little resistance as he collided with the earth at times whilst skidding across the land without any ability to bring himself to a halt.

The short white beast man was callous. Its eyes only had a ruthless light as it appeared above Anon and attacked him without restraint.

How could he resist?

Anon was pummeled into the earth.

His flesh caved in and burst. His bones cracked and shattered. His insides were crushed and a blood pool formed under his body.

The short white beast man didn’t attack Anon for long before there was a change in its expression as a dangerous aura in the distance slowly formed.

Bloodthirst flashed in its eyes as its focused returned to Anon’s pathetic state. Its murderous intent culminated into its claws as it attacked for a final time.

Spear Soul

Although his body suffered from extraordinary weakness, the grip on his spear hadn’t loosened once. Even as his spear felt as heavy as a mountain, it did not mean that his means of attack had been completely squandered.

The spear in his hand trembled slightly as a beautiful and dazzling white glow shone on the spear’s body.

At the same time, the short white beast man sensed danger!

The distance between Anon and the short white beast man was too close. By the time the short white beast man reacted, the light of the spear had already appeared before it, and ruthlessly lashed against the beast’s chest.

Anon grinned as the blood of the short white beast man splattered against his body and face. For Anon, it almost seemed to contain properties that gave him a boost in energy.

Finding strength from deep within, Anon groaned with ferociousness.

One of his arms was amputated, and there were gaping holes in his abdomen and chest, but momentarily after the short white beast man stumbled backwards, Anon mustered strength and rose to his feet.

This was the first time he had landed such a deep wound on the short white beast man, but instead of quickly following up with a barrage of attacks, Anon used the opportunity to create even more distance between himself and the beast man.

At the same time, Anon lifted the longevity healing gourd over his head. A magical liquid fell from the gourd and onto his body. The mystical aura was encompassing and the wounds throughout his body healed at a rate visible to the naked eye.

Almost instantly, Anon returned to a physically peak state. The longevity healing gourd was like this, and something that he certainly valued greatly.

Indeed, he did not even have a thought of selling this back then, and now he was truly rewarded.

Still, even though he was physically healed, the longevity healing gourd could not heal his spirit, nor could it recover his mental energy that had been expended.

Evidently, not just this battle, but the battles before, even though Anon hadn’t exhausted his spirit using stellar cosmic energy and principle power, naturally because he could not, it still took a great deal of mental energy to produce willpower to complete these physical activities.

Anon had long grown exhausted mentally.

His skin might not show it, but this was how he felt.

Yet, the short white beast man was uncaring.

The gash across its chest was deep, yet blood swiftly stopped spilling from its wounds. And though the light of the spear soul resisted healing properties, the beast’s flesh refused to be limited, and instead relentlessly wriggled towards each other.

It saw Anon healing once again and visibly grew annoyed. Veins popped on its forehead as it growled deeply and exploded with speed toward Anon.

The latter had stopped bothering putting up any pretense. Anon’s face was dark as he stopped holding back. Though he acted weak, obviously it was not to probe the short white beast man’s strength.

From the beginning, it was obvious how much more powerful this creature was.

But he had successfully wasted as much time as possible whilst focusing more on surviving, rather than attacking with the intent to kill.

He had unknowingly influenced the beast general, or more precisely, the strength it used to deal with this weakling, allowing him to somewhat control this battle.

However, at this point, the short white beast man was clearly angered. The moment it appeared within striking distance, a dazzling light of spear soul shone in the surroundings, but the short white beast man showed little care towards it.

It retracted its arms as they instantaneously grew several times more bulky. Veins protruded its skin as it approached Anon with overwhelming might.

Anon’s spear glowed brightly as it rushed to meet this imposing force. As the two forces collided, the short white beast man frowned as it was sent several steps back, but without any surprises, Anon was sent flying.

Several snapping sounds occurred as the bones in his forearms shattered. His grip over the spear loosened whilst he collided against the earth.

The short white beast man quickly stabilized itself with a flap of its wings before flapping once more and almost immediately appearing before Anon’s flying body.

Sensing this incoming danger, the veins all across Anon’s body bulged.

Top-Tier Spear Technique- Breathless Suppression!

Anon swallowed deeply and found strength. Some veins burst and blood began oozing from his orifices, but he stomped his foot deep into the earth and stabilized himself.

Spear light shone as he countered the incoming assault of the short white beast man which attacked him from above.

But his face quickly changed.

The bony wings on the beast’s back suddenly grew at rapid pace, becoming long rods and spears that pierced through the air and penetrated Anon’s flesh.

His pupils shook and his mouth formed an O shape.

’So fast?!’ Anon’s spear maneuvered through the air as he clashed against and resisted several incoming bone rods. But even more penetrated his flesh and exited the other side before curving upwards.

There were several bone rods that impaled each of his arms, and even more pierced his abdomen and chest.

Blood seeped from his lips as the short white beast man slowly lifted Anon’s body into the air.

Anon’s eyes were wide open.

The bright luster that it previously contained slowly began dissipating.

In his vision, although he stared at the short white beast man, the image of the beast general had suddenly been replaced by that of a door.

A dark aura seeped from this door.

Such a dark aura that no light could be cultivated in.

And as it seeped out, this aura drew closer to Anon before beginning to devour him. The dark aura was deathly cold and it seeped into Anon’s skin.

’This must be death.’ Anon guessed.

His heart was thumping violently.

The beast had not killed him yet, but Anon’s end was inevitable. Toward such a human that was so weak yet gave it such a difficult time, it wanted to slowly devour its flesh and savor its blood.

The dark aura swiftly covered a piece of his left leg, and then some of his right arm, followed by a chunk of his shoulder.

Bolts of pain assaulted his senses, but Anon’s expression was not that of pain.

’Beastly creatures are truly too dumb.’ Anon casually thought of this as his flesh was ruthlessly torn apart and devoured.

At the same time, the darkness that overwhelmed him abruptly shattered, and the door before him was swiftly severed by a burst of crimson aura.

The putrid scent of blood filled the air, but Anon thought that it was rather pleasant at this current moment. As rays of blood-colored light shone brilliantly, for a time, his vision became obscured.

’Instead of getting rid of an obstruction before going on to sneak attack a slumbering threat, it was blinded by anger and a desire to torment its prey.’ Anon shook his head as the bone rods and spears were shattered under the force of principle power.

"Such a pity, a real pity." Seth’s voice loudly resounded in the surroundings.

It carried a hint of disappointment. Clearly, he actually wanted the beast general to make a genuine attempt at ending Anon’s life.
