Myriad Devils-Chapter 150: This must be a nightmare!
The battle between Seth and the short white beast man had already turned to the skies. Though it buzzed through the air with endless ferocity for the umpteenth time, Seth lightly waved his hand and manifested several shields of blood aura.
As it crashed into these shields that exploded into blood particles upon impact, these particles faintly glowed with a dark shimmer.
Seth smirked as he quickly made distance between him and the short white beast man.
On the bodies of these fine blood particles, intricate demonic characters were etched all around.
And so, before the short white beast man could react, already surrounded by these particles, it had fell into another one of Seth’s traps. The demonic runes faintly lit up, bringing forth a chaotic explosion!
Far away, Anon’s expressions darkened as he raised his hand in resistance to the remnants of the terrifying explosive energies that pervaded the skies.
’Seth is really just playing with that beast general?!’ Anon’s eyes showed both apprehension and unwillingness.
A massive shroom of debris manifested in the sky, obscuring vision in the hundreds of meters surrounding the battle. However, Seth had already retreated beyond this distance.
Though far away, his expression was incredibly solemn whilst he coldly surveyed the clouds of debris. And as he expected, the short white beast man shot out of the debris with ferocious intent.
Though its body was riddled with wounds, even revealing some of its bones, these wounds regenerated in the blink of an eye as it lunged toward Seth’s figure.
The fighting duo collided in the air tens and hundreds of times in a short period. They traversed the sky at such a speed that thunderous roars were left in their wake.
The residual aura of their collisions caused the lands beneath to change, and for the earth to implode beneath.
Anon chuckled lightly at this sight.
There was simply nothing that he could do. After all, to even earn the qualification to enter this battle, one first needed to be capable of flight.
With his spirit in a critical state, such an act was unfeasible.
He sighed and sat down on the ground, tightly clenching his cloud severing spear which rested on his lap.
He continued to observe the battle, in waiting.
The battle in the skies...
High above, the short white beast man stood motionless in the sky.
Around him was an innumerable amount of blood-colored droplets. In fact, in a radius of fifty meters, countless droplets could be seen!
Seth faintly chuckled and slowly stretched out his right hand.
His opened palm closed and the droplets of blood shimmered with a dangerous gleam as the demonic runes appeared again, shimmering on their bodies.
Endless explosions rung out as Seth casually retreated. His brows were tensed since appearing on this drifting rock, but at this moment, they finally relaxed.
’This beast is physically unmatchable. As a mere second worlder, neither I nor Anon can dare to confront it head on.’ Seth thought this with a mocking smile.
’But so what. Anon’s spirit may be injured, but why should I confront you in close quarters when I can attack from long-range?’
His spirit had recovered, so there was no reason to.
Honor?
Haha...
As he thought this, the smoke from the explosion slowly dispersed.
Hmm?
Where the short white beast man originally was, a false body, elusive in nature yet refusing to dissipate, remained.
Oh?
’This...’ Seth’s brows furrowed tightly.
Suddenly, his eyelids twitched.
A strange sensation came from his chest.
He slowly looked down, and what he saw were five claws wrapped around a pulsating heart.
This heart still thumped vibrantly for a time, and blood slowly slipped through the space between the creature’s claws.
Seeping through his lips, this blood.
Seth’s eyes lost their luster as an expression of confusion and doubt appeared on his face.
He turned his neck and glanced at the short white beast man behind.
The creature’s left shoulder twitched.
Under Seth’s strange gaze, the world slowed as the beast general brought its arm towards his skull.
’How confusing...’ Seth thought.
In that moment before death, it seemed as if the entire world had come to a stop.
’I clearly haven’t activated my eyes that sees, so how am I seeing a vision of my death?’ Seth thought this, and then his head exploded like a watermelon.
Anon’s pupils trembled violently, shrinking to the size of pins.
There was little hesitation in his actions.
He swiftly rose to his feet and rushed towards the edge of the drifting rock.
’How?’
He repeated that word countless times as the edge of the drifting rock came into sight.
But in this state of mind, he did not realize even then.
As he drew closer to the edge of the drifting rock, the distance between him and the edge simultaneously grew larger.
By the time he returned to his sense, Anon was standing in the same spot he previously sat to observe the battle.
Right next to him, the short white beast man sat with crossed legs, grinning as its observed Anon’s desperate actions.
"N-No... No, that’s not... that’s not possible?!"
Upon glimpsing at this creature, Anon’s heart was plunged into the depths of despair.
He hadn’t recovered from the shock of Seth’s death.
Simply put, it was too sudden.
In one moment, Seth was still at an advantage, controlling the battle from afar, and then in the next instance, he was already dead...
This!
It made no sense.
Anon doubted his eyes.
This must be a nightmare.
"Y-Yea-Yes, yes!" Anon suddenly smiled.
"Hahaha, of course. It’s been a while since I got one. So it was like this." Anon’s laughter resounded in the surroundings.
For the entirety of his life, he hadn’t gotten a nightmare that scared him.
It was either a nightmare of unimaginable pain and suffering, or one that was simply too incomprehensible and confusing.
This was the first time he acquired one that caught him off-guard like this. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
He didn’t even remember when he had fallen asleep.
Fallen asleep...
Fallen asleep?
’When did I fall asleep? I’ve been actively keeping myself awake for some time now.’ Anon frowned.
Seeing this,
Hehehehe!!
The short white beast man slapped its thigh and cackled madly. Bloody tears trickled down its cheek as it laughed boisterously.
Unconsciously, Anon stepped away, retreating from the beast’s figure.
However, as he stepped away, instead of creating distance, the space between the short white beast man and Anon closed.
Leisurely stretching out its hand, Anon’s left arm was grabbed tightly by five claws.
The beastly man yanked gently, and akin to pristine meat, Anon’s flesh was torn apart with ease. His forearm bone exposed to the world.
"Ah... Ah Ah..."
This pain did not greatly impact Anon’s mind. But he could not keep fooling himself.
The current situation.
Seth’s death.
His impending own...
"This shouldn’t be possible." Anon’s voice reclaimed a semblance of calm. A wave of hatred flashed in the depths of his eyes.
"Curse you, Seth. I only wish that, even in death, you suffer eternally." Anon’s eyes fumed for some time.
But after a while, he chuckled lightly.
He stared at the short white beast man with an indifferent gaze.
The cloud severing spear manifested and though his left arm was gone, with his right hand, he wielded the spear without any visible discomfort.
"I have many attachments to this world. After all, I walked on the path of seeking knowledge, and vengeance... Yet, before I could even reach the first checkpoint, I’ve met with death." Anon words resounded in the air as his spear stabbed at the false body of the beast general.
"However, I have no one to blame except myself. I only ask that you stop stare at me as if you’re watching an insignificant character. In the end, I am still the son of your lord, the human lord, this world’s lord."
Saying so, the short white beast man appeared some distance away, and Anon lunged toward it once more.
His veins immediately begun to bulge through his skin. The blood vessels in his eyes burst, causing his eyes to turn bloodshot.
As his blood seeped out of his body, dowsing his figure into the image of a spear-wielding blood fiend, a dazzling picture was painted.
The light of his spear soul was almost blinding in his last moments.
It had never shone this brightly.
Upon seeing this, the short white beast man grinned even wider.
Indeed.
This human.
He was still growing.
No...
One can say that, only now, in the face of death, did he start to grow.
As its grin reached either side of its head, the creature that had transformed into a truly frightening mid-level beast general, finally moved.
Its physical strength was mind-boggling.
Truthfully, the creatures of the drifting rock territory had no other aspect to them besides their unbridled physicality.
It was why, when separated, the different colored beasts had an aspect related to physicality that was several notches above other aspects.
In a way, this was their very own principle, however, the blue creature with immense speed did not have a speed-related principle, and the black creature with immense strength, did not have a strength-related principle, and so on...
As for the reason.
Pure physicality!
It could be said to be a principle in and of itself.
This beast’s body was powerful to the point that space bent to its will.
Low-level beast generals usually struggled against third worlders. And even mid-stage beast generals did not have an easy time.
It was why Anon and Seth, along with being anomalies themselves, could cross a world barrier and battle beast generals.
However, this short white beast man.
Just like before, when it was only a low-level beast general, yet touching upon the stage of a mid-level beast general.
Yes...
At this moment, it was certainly touching the boundaries of a High-level beast general.
High-level beast general.
Even amongst third world entities, these were creatures that could rival the most powerful amongst them.
And this short white beast man was drawing near to such a state!
The short white beast man right now, was truly in an entirely different world compared to Anon and Seth.
It wanted to play with the blood-wielding human too, but he kept running away, and so it got bored.
But this one, with dark gold eyes, akin to a sun star tainted by demonic light.
This one that did not run away from it...
It wanted to play with this human even more...
