Myriad Devils-Chapter 134: Demonic nature

"If he crushes the beast, wouldn’t its heart be destroyed too?" Anon frowned the instance he saw the humanoid beast get trapped within Seth’s blood tower.

Indeed, he was worried about the loot residing within the beast. But soon, his worries were proven to be unwarranted.

Seth, still standing with an air of aloofness surrounding him high in the sky, had a silvery hue that coated his eyes.

Like in the battle with the Fleshy Bear King, inspirations of the future played out before him. What Seth opted reality to be, is what it would be.

And just as he expected, ripples of power generated within the tower, broke past the tower’s defenses and spilled into the outer world.

These ripples spread out, causing space to grow chaotic.

"Its body is incredibly strong. As expected of a beast general born in this drifting rock terrain." Seth whispered to himself.

Although the creature had face a constant corrosive attack within the tower via his blood-principles, its body not only resisted these attacks, but also drew even greater strength and began straining the blood tower.

Seth observed as the blood tower, and the flowing blood that stabilized the blood tower slowly began crystalizing. Then, cracks began forming across the tower.

His spirit naturally stopped its act of summoning stellar cosmic energies to fuel the blood tower, causing the sturdiness of the construct to take a noticeable hit.

Almost immediately, the tower was destroyed by the beast general, and exploded into endless blood light that permeated the sky.

’Though it’s uncomfortable to admit, battling beast generals without Anon’s assistance is a pain. The fleshy bear king, although a low-level beast general like this one, did not have such a robust body due to the nature it was brought up in. Whilst I would not have needed Anon to slay the red ape by my lonesome, it was already severely injured.’ Seth assessed inwardly.

’Though I have these eyes, each second that passes, is a second more of my spirit constantly drawing stellar cosmic energy. Utilizing these eyes along with my blood principle isn’t suited for drawn out battles. This world’s self of mine greatest weakness remains this spirit.’ Seth thought this, yet there was a subtle grin playing on his lips.

The body of this humanoid beast was covered in a thick, gooey blood that had a corrosive nature, causing hot steam to rise from its flesh.

But unbothered, the beast’s middle face showed expression for the first time.

It had four eyes, two mouths, and a large nose. It was ugly, but both of its mouths showed disturbing grins as it looked at Seth.

’Looking down on me?’ Seth saw the beast’s gloating expression and the index and middle fingers on his left hand began twitching.

The silvery hue that coated his eyes began crystalizing, and at the same time, dark, unrecognizable runic characters began forming in the depths of his eyes.

They caused an unfamiliar aura to radiate from Seth. First, it began with his eyes, but this aura quickly expanded, escaping from his entire worldly flesh.

’Utilizing my demonic nature along with the eyes is an impossible task. This spirit isn’t quite yet capable of completing such an act. But I need not see the outcome when I know it very well.’ Seth thought.

Rather than the blood-colored aura visible due to his blood principle, it was like a dark wind that shrouded his figure.

Though a humanoid figure could be made out from within this dark veil, rather than a human, it was instead of the image of a foreign creature.

’Demonic!’ Anon thought to himself.

Although he was miles away, the skies had grown overcast, and the faint sounds of cackles began resounding throughout.

The echoes of maddening laughter entered the ears of the beast general as Seth, covered by this dark aura, pointed towards the creature suggestively.

The beast was quickly infuriated.

Its mouths across all of its faces opened wide, and it rocked its heads back, bellowing towards the heavens!

But from within Seth’s dark aura, runic characters shot out like dim stars, covering the sky. And the invisible wave of energy that had been brought about by the creature instead became visible.

Seth’s figure, shrouded in a dark aura, rushed straight into this incoming wave, causing it to shatter as if it was glass.

He continued his path towards the beast general.

Seeing this, the beast growled angrily and rushed to meet up with Seth who was daring enough to compete with it in close quarters.

When they were within touching distance of each other, the creature lifted its four mighty arms above its body before slamming it towards Seth.

At the same time, the runic characters once again shot out of Seth’s aura and swirled around him at rapid speeds. Then, protruding from Seth’s back were four monstrous arms that appeared to have been formed from dark energy.

Stellar cosmic energy, appearing as multi-colored starlight above Seth’s head transformed into dark dots that fueled these four arms as they collided with the beast’s arms.

Boom!

They met, causing a grand light to cover the entire heavens. Following this light was a great explosion that shook the earth!

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Countless explosions followed.

Anon, somewhere in the distance stared on. His body trembled as he saw the scenes playing out before him.

Truthfully speaking, he did not expect this creature to be this powerful.

’Is that really a low-level beast general?’ Anon grimaced.

Although this hadn’t really been taught to them by the instructors of the academy, in fact, he didn’t even know about the difference amongst beast generals until he reviewed such information, using his past experience in Blood-Drip Jungle, he was confident in his ability to identify these beasts.

But from the energy originating from this beast general which he had sensed earlier, to now compare that to the strength which it was displaying, it did not match up.

Against such a beast, Anon couldn’t think of any ways he had of defeating it.

’Such a powerful body!’ He thought.

At the same time, he clenched his fists tightly.

In the skies above, a spectacle of light had taken shape.

As Seth and the humanoid beast swam through the sky, they collided with each other all across the heavenly sea!

And as each collision brought about tremors in the sky, and caused the earth to buckle under the immense pressure, what was currently taking place was beyond just a natural disaster.

Indeed, a battle of this level could be said to be capable of changing the landscape itself.

As the intensity continued to increase, the humanoid beast started to release cries of war more regularly.

At the same time, beyond the dark veil, Seth’s already pale skin grew more sickly pale as dark circles formed under his eyes and his breathing became rigid.

’The capabilities of my demonic nature is only limited by this feeble spirit.’ Seth shook his head, coughing up a mouthful of blood.

’One on one, I can still keep my life against a mid-level beast general, and yet, this lowly beast is forcing me to this extent just to reap its life?!’ Seth growled inwardly.

Verily, being killed, keeping one’s life, fighting on equal terms, defeating, and slaying.

These five terms were all very different.

Similar to the time Anon and Seth forced the Dreadwing creature into escape.

That mid-level beast general was able to keep its life with relative ease, and for a time, was even able to fight on equal terms with them.

Although it was forced into retreat, on not one occasion was it close to being defeated, much less dying.

Similarly, against a mid-level beast general, even by himself, Seth was confident of keeping his life.

And depending on the type of beast general it was, even fighting on equal terms was feasible.

Naturally, the two of them slaying a mid-level beast general like the Red Ape was only a possibility due to its injuries.

And as for a high-level beast general...

Using the Cinder Fiend as an example, it was pretty obvious that working together did not matter.

In the face of such a monstrosity, even keeping their life was unlikely. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

Of the five, against this single low-level beast general, Seth was able to easily defeat it.

But when it came to slaying it, and to also slay it whist keeping its heart in tact, was extraordinarily difficult.

So does the strength of beasts grow the higher the drifting rock?

Since he had slayed the previous beast general that attacked Anon, one could ask this question.

Naturally, this was the case, but even more than that...

’At the time, I was able to attack it unsuspectingly.’ Seth summarized. The moment he appeared near Anon, he caught the beast off-guard.

Seeing it about to kill an unconscious Anon, he naturally did not hold back.

Presently, even after utilizing demonic nature, things was still difficult.

As the humanoid beast was tossed back, blood began trickling down Seth’s nose.

"Anon, I only hope you remember the things I’ve done for you." Seth shook his head and said this with a tone that lacked any emotional depth.

Still, his voice carried a strange power that caused his words to resound throughout the sky and echo across the landscape of the drifting rock.

Hearing his words, Anon adorned a deadpan expression.

He was not the least bit grateful.

At the same time, the dark aura that expanded from Seth’s worldly form became a shade darker.

But such a change was not easily noticeable.

At least, Anon was too far away to see such a subtilty, and the beast general rocketing towards Seth was not perceptible enough.

Trickling down his cheeks, two streams of blood tears fell from Seth’s eyes.

’Pushing this spirit is a risk indeed. However, compared to other humans who do this, it isn’t that great of a risk.’ Seth said this to himself, almost as if to lift his own mood.

But as he saw the humanoid beast approaching with irresistible might, his eyes that had become a much darker shade was swallowed by a light of anger.

’Who am I kidding?! Anon Xerxes, Xerxes! I really, really hate you!’ Seth growled inwardly as the four gigantic arms protruding from his back began transforming.

From his back, these four arms morphed into two dark wings that began expanding across the skies with great ferocity!
