Chapter 103: Colliding worlds, altering landscapes

Runic characters painted black and carrying a dark red hue etched themselves into the real world.

They appeared right in front of Seth’s indifferent face, and, at the same time, appeared before the incoming blood beam, the beast general’s magical attack.

When the two forces made contact, though the blood beam was as large as half of Seth’s body, whilst each of the runic characters were instead, even smaller than Seth’s eyes individually, the blood beam continuously shrank as the characters expanded in size.

It appeared as if the characters were devouring the beast general’s magical attack, and when the entire attack was devoured, the characters then disappeared from this world.

Seth’s expression didn’t appear even the slightest bit flustered as a booming explosion resounded behind him.

The entirety of the cave shook violently as the beast general’s attack crashed against the cave’s walls.

The ceiling began caving in as the jagged rocks fell from above. The earth around the two entities crumbled under their strength as they rushed in towards the other with nothing but malevolent auras circulating through their glowing eyes.

As the two drew closer towards each other, the falling rocks were suspended mid-air. More than that, time within the entire cave came to a halt as false bodies were left in their wake.

Seth bit his bottom lip, bursting it and producing a dark droplet of glistening blood.

"Blood River!"

What followed was the sound of a flowing river.

The beast general saw Seth’s actions and reacted accordingly, coming to a halt before creating distance between them.

But Seth’s magical attack was much faster than his own physical movement, causing a gushing river to manifest in the air out of nowhere.

Akin to a divine decree, the blood river arced through the air and lunged towards the beast general’s towering body.

Whilst its four paws rapidly attempted to evade the river to no avail, its upper body though, carried out a peculiar set of movements.

The red water beneath them churned chaotically, and as the blood river approached the beast general, appearing before its path was a wall of red water.

At first, this wall was small in size, and short in height, but the ankle-height red water under Anon and Seth was seemingly drained, and by the time the blood river met with it, the wall of red water was touching the cave’s highest point.

Once meeting, the two forces entered a stalemate for a time.

This moment between the collision of two magical attacks was the usual calm before an incoming storm.

And just then, the mighty river of blood solidified before shattering into fragments of crimson light which then dispersed in the air whilst the gigantic wall of red water remained standing tall.

Chi! Chi! Chi!

Shooting out of the red water were hundreds of pieces of flesh that squirmed and twitched uncontrollably as they darted towards Seth.

There was a slight change in the emotions he expressed, but it was very subtle.

He reacted instantly toward the pieces of flesh rushing towards him, running across the cave and even on the cave’s walls, evading these fleshy pieces that shot into the earth and imploded into bloody messes.

Seth’s eyes focused on the massive wall of red water which hindered his view of the beast general, thinking to himself, ’To kill this beast general in the current situation would be improbable. Inside of this cave, my chance of victory is very slim.’

’Breaching into the third world to kill a beast general?’ Seth thought this and smiled.

It was naturally an arrogant thought, an ignorant one too.

Ignorant though, only if the person that thought of it was someone other than Seth Constantin.

As his thoughts swirled at a rapid pace, he gently exhaled a dark crimson breath of air.

This air unassumingly yet swiftly covered his entire body before expanding outwards.

In the blink of an eye, it wafted through the air of the cave, spreading into the small cracks and crevices.

As far as the eye could see, the blood fog was present.

Anon couldn’t be seen, neither could Seth, nor the wall of red water and the beast general.

But the monster’s furious roars caused the already crumbling cave to tremble even more violently, causing the once-stable earth to crack open and release plumes of steam that melded with the blood fog, and a cacophony of groans from the stone.

The walls buckled under the pressure of the beast’s roars, and the falling pieces of rocks intensified in number, like a rocky rain of daggers.

Beyond the cave, the entire mountain, once a silent sentinel for who knows how long, was now succumbing to the chaos ensued by the magical ability of Seth and the beast general.

It was widely acclaimed that a battle between two third world stellar fighters, or two beast generals could reshape the very landscape, bringing great destruction.

Naturally, it would be the same if a beast general fought with a third world stellar fighter, or even with a stellar fighter who had touched upon a similar power level...

As Seth and the beast general confronted each other, it was definitely no ordinary battle, but instead, was akin to two worlds colliding. The repercussions was beyond the imagination of the ignorant soul.

Though their surroundings were shrouded by a bloody fog, the natural energies pulsed with vigor as the landscape reshaped itself.

Dispersing Seth’s blood fog was the winds of the outside world as the light from the cosmic sky pierced through it, landing on his face.

Taking a deep breath in, Seth, standing on a piece of shattered rock that floated atop the pond’s water, began lightly chuckling.

Leaning against his right leg, Anon’s unconscious figure rested.

The wounds across his body neither healed nor deteriorated at a noticeable pace.

Seth though, did not seem to sense, nor care, about Anon’s disastrous state.

’Though it is a dumb creature, thinking of a way to defeat it still counts as thinking. How long has it been since I needed to outthink an opponent?’ Seth had a wide grin plastered on his face as his eyes transformed into a pair of crescent moons.

However, just as quickly as he revealed that smile, it was replaced by his unreadable expression which had become the norm.

Seth mused silently, ’Indeed, fighting like this is not as enjoyable. Releasing an endless fury of might, with each stroke of might containing infinite power, not caring about anything else besides fighting, spilling blood, and killing... Now, that is the best form of battle.’

’A battle to the death, simultaneously not caring about death. Only something like that can be enjoyable and cause the blood of this King to boil.’ Seth concluded.

As the dust and debris settled, and the fog dispersed into the air, the wall of red water had dissolved into the pond water that was once connected to the waterfall.

Within the cave, the red water was immensely condensed, however, after the cave’s disappearance, and as the red water merged with its new body, a pond connecting to a seemingly infinitely expanding river, the wall of red water weakened immensely, to the point that its previous height was detrimental to itself, breaking apart instantly.

The beast general stood atop the shattered remains of the mountain, its gaze focusing on Seth intently.

To it, the red water was its property, and the cave was its home, but two humans suddenly trespassed into its house, laying waste to its possession, and ruining its abode.

The anger it felt towards these two lifeforms couldn’t be described.

"Roar!!!"

Instead, it was properly felt through a fear-inducing growl.

Following which, a ripple of power extended in all directions, twisting the world as it traversed the air, and causing the atmosphere to tremble in fear.

Its upper body began growing even larger as the swirling flesh and blood slowed their rotations, drawing closer and closer towards each other before...

Boom!

Veiny lines ran across its fleshy body as its empty eye sockets flickered with a demonic aura.

Its upper body assumed a solid appearance, of a creature that appeared to be either a burly human, or maybe a furless bear.

It had three arms, two of which had paws whilst one had a hand that grasped tightly in its palm, a massive great axe ten meters large and forged from flesh and blood.

The axe’s sharp blade dripped crimson fluid, with each droplet that fell to the broken earth, causing the ground to sink, as if these droplets of blood contained within a terrifying weight!

’And here I thought that this damnable thing had already gone all out.’ Seth smiled whilst thinking this, but interestingly enough, this smile did not seem very convincing.

He slightly bent over and grabbed Anon’s neck before, without any visible care in his actions, flinging Anon’s body a distance away from his location.

As if picked up by a mysterious force, Anon’s body was covered in a crimson breeze that pushed it through the air.

On the other hand, as Seth’s gaze returned to the beast general, he mentally prepared himself for a much more difficult battle.

But all of his mental preparations soon proved to be utterly useless as his gaze fixated on the towering figure of the beast general, or more accurately, the lack thereof.

Soundlessly, the monstrosity had disappeared from his perception. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

’Huh?!’ Seth’s expressions turned dark as he immediately thought of Anon.

No matter if it was a dumb beast or not, it was almost instinctive to weed out the pest before focusing on the stronger foes.

In fact, the beast general had already did this once.

Before it even fought against Seth, it had eradicated any possibility of Anon uniting alongside Seth.

’Damn!’ Seth growled internally as he turned towards Anon and saw him on the ground over a hundred meters into the forest, perfectly fine.

In fact, nowhere in his vicinity was there a towering and imposing beast general looking to extinguish his life...

’Ah shit!’ Seth’s thoughts were severed as his perception finally picked up on the beast general’s haunting presence.

Such a presence was unbelievably uncomforting!
