My Young Husband, The Assasin-Chapter 71: Hiroshi Okada’s Downfall (1)
Chapter 71 - Hiroshi Okada’s Downfall (1)
In the crowded streets of Tokyo, a high-speed chase was taking place between two black cars. Fortunately, no civilians were injured in the incident. Though many were startled, no major commotion ensued—just confusion, especially since there was no gunfire as often seen in movie scenes when criminals clash.
The police soon descended upon the area to chase after the two cars following reports of a reckless chase from several residents. The suspects were already gone when they arrived, making it hard for the police officers to arrest them.
One of the cars carried Kaito's subordinates, who were sent on an assignment. However, upon discovering Kaito's plan, Tetsuya had his men lay an ambush. His goal was to ensure the car never reached the hospital, and his plan worked.
The two cars were chased relentlessly for nearly half an hour until one of them intentionally headed towards a dock area on the city's outskirts. The place was relatively isolated and mainly used as a harbor for freighters. Of course, the chasing car followed not far behind.
As they entered the dock area, the scene became more serious when bullets were suddenly being shot at the car ahead. One of the bullets struck the right rear tire, and the vehicle swerved wildly before hitting a barrier.
A wide grin spread across the face of the man who had fired the shot, glad that his shooting had not gone to waste.
"Good shot," one of his friends complimented, winning their supposed triumph.
But their celebration was brief. Someone suddenly killed the driver with a shot. The car, out of control, kept going forward. When another man in the passenger seat tried to bring the vehicle to a halt, he too was shot—along with two other men in the backseat.
One of them, however, managed to jump out just in time, narrowly escaping death. He tumbled onto the dock, injuring his right arm in the process, while his three companions plunged into the sea along with the car.
Badly wounded, he quickly hid, convinced that the sniper was still watching from afar. And he was right. In the distance, a man with long, braided hair observed the scene through a high-powered scope while holding a sniper rifle.
The weapon in his hands was no ordinary gun—it was a tool frequently used by professional snipers to eliminate their targets. It required specialized training to master, but such a challenge was trivial for a member of Hayabusa. Despite the approaching car, his precision was flawless. His reputation as the "Death Sniper" was not a joke.
Three targets had been well looked after, but one slipped away. That wasn't acceptable. Wherever he was hiding, he would be found.
At that time, his phone rang. Reading the screen, the name "Tetsuya Ishikawa" appeared in bold letters.
"What is it?" he asked coldly, scanning the area through his scope.

(Is it done?) Tetsuya asked in return.
"One rat managed to escape," he replied, irritated by the situation.
(Let him live to report back.) Tetsuya deliberately allowed the survivor to return and inform Kaito of what had happened.
"Alright, then, the matter here is settled."
(Good job.) Tetsuya replied happily, not mistakenly assigning this task to the young man.
The man sighed softly, "So you called me down from the mountain just for this?" he asked, slightly disappointed at being given such an easy task, as he had thought something major had happened to warrant calling him back to work while the big boss was still punishing him.
(Relax, it's just a small matter. I've prepared a bigger party for you, Hayate.) Tetsuya smiled over the phone, calling the young man by his name.
The young man named Hayate smiled happily, "Where do you want me to cause chaos?" Hayate was very enthusiastic, his urge to kill boiling over after being punished by Renji for so long for slaughtering an entire family, leaving no survivors, as they were believed to have betrayed the Hayabusa group.
(Hiroshi Okada's headquarters.)
A wide smile spread across Hayate's face, "What a coincidence. I have a personal grudge against someone there."

A gray kimono-clad servant was running with frantic steps as if chasing after something. That was not all because on his face was a mixture of panic and worry as he rushed towards the private room of the master located at the end of the hallway in the mansion. But when he arrived, the master was not there.
"Have you seen Master Kaito?" he asked a few servants as he passed them in the hallway outside Kaito's private room.
"He's in the backyard garden," one of them replied, informing him.
"Thank you," he said, bowing slightly before hurrying off with quick steps.
Without meetings or work, Kaito would always relax in the backyard garden, enjoying his time while feeding his decades-old Koi fish. Feeding the Koi fish brought Kaito a sense of calm and happiness, allowing him to forget all his problems momentarily. Kaito often talked to his beloved fish. The pond, measuring 4m by 3m, had a bridge stretching over it, and inside the pond were various types of Koi fish, including the Tancho variety.
The servant spotted a man with white hair and glasses sitting by the edge of the door, preparing tea. At the same time, Kaito stood near the pond with his back turned, unaware of the servant's arrival with an important message.
When he was right next to Ryoji, he immediately sat down, bowing and paying his respects to Ryoji before addressing him. He did not dare to barge in and approach Kaito directly.
Ryoji glanced up in surprise, but his hands did not stop preparing the tea, still focused on the drink he was making for Kaito. "What is it?" Ryoji asked on behalf of Kaito.
"Forgive me if my arrival disturbs your time, Master Ryoji, but there is something I must report to Master Kaito," he said with his head bowed, not daring to look Ryoji in the eye.
"Just tell me, and I will convey it to Master Kaito later," Ryoji said flatly.
"One of the men Master Kaito sent reported that their mission failed because a group of people attacked them."
Ryoji's hand stopped stirring the green tea powder, and he turned to look at the servant. "Attacked?" he asked in disbelief.
"Yes, Master Ryoji. Only Taku-san survived, while his three comrades died and sank to the bottom of the sea along with the car they were in," Suddenly, Ryoji's head began to ache. His expression, once calm, now showed anxiety and worry as he imagined how furious Kaito would be upon learning that the kidnapping mission had failed.
The people Ryoji sent to kidnap Aira and her baby were no ordinary individuals. The four of them were elite guards, chosen with the hope that they would successfully carry out the mission, especially since Renji would undoubtedly have placed tight security around his wife and child. However, it seemed something unexpected had happened to all four of them.
This must be Renji's doing, but how did he discover this plan?
After all, only Kaito, himself, Haruto, and Shin, aside from the four guards assigned to the task, knew about the plan. No one else was aware. If this truly was the work of Renji's men, it could only mean that there was a spy and a traitor among them. There was no way Kaito would have leaked the plan, and certainly not Ryoji himself, as he was the mastermind behind the kidnapping. That left only two suspects: Haruto and Shin. But if Ryoji were to be honest, he felt more suspicious of Haruto than Shin.
"Thank you for the information. You may leave," Ryoji said coldly.
"Understood, Master Ryoji," the servant replied before bowing and leaving the backyard garden.
The tea Ryoji had been preparing was only half-finished and not yet ready to be served. Still, he had to stop because something important had occurred, and he needed to report it to Kaito.
Trying to calm his racing heart, Ryoji approached Kaito, his emotions a mix of anxiety and fear.
"Master Kaito," he called out hesitantly.
"Any updates from them?" Kaito asked while keeping his eyes intact while watching his favorite koi fish.
"About that." Ryoji stuttered, fumbling and hesitant as he was about to deliver the bad news.
Kaito's eyes furrowed, and he spun around to face Ryoji with a cold glare. "What? Couldn't they get something as simple as that done?" he sneered.
Ryoji stopped for a second and leaned over towards Kaito, whispering in his ear for a few minutes. As Ryoji whispered, Kaito's face grew more and more deformed. He gripped the ceramic fish food bowl so hard in his hand. When Ryoji finished whispering, Kaito hit the bowl to the ground, and it shattered. Fish food and shreds of ceramic scattered in all directions. Ryoji could only stare in shock, not daring to utter a word.

Hiroshi Okada's headquarters could be considered difficult to infiltrate, but that didn't apply to Tetsuya Ishikawa, who had his tricks for disrupting their defense systems. Tetsuya divided his team into several groups for the attack on Hiroshi's headquarters.
The group led by Ryuuhei, accompanied by Tsuchigumo, was tasked with sabotaging secret weapons storage. Rin was responsible for hacking the computers, particularly damaging the systems in the main headquarters. Daichi was in charge of preparing and setting up explosives. And then there was Hayate, who had been punished by Renji for years for disobeying orders by slaughtering an innocent family. He was suspected of betraying the Hayabusa faction. Hayate was re-recruited after Mizuki, at Tetsuya's request, asked him to come back.
Hayate's skills were one level above Tetsuya's, so his presence was crucial. He had to protect Tetsuya with Mizuki when they attacked the central headquarters.
Their duties had been divided, and their plan had been well plotted. It was now their turn to perform their given responsibility.
A driverless black vehicle zoomed towards a group of guards with no knowledge that it was loaded with explosives. The guards were suspicious and opened fire to attempt to stop the car, but, as fortune would have it, the vehicle exploded right at the entry immediately. The explosion caused a lot of casualties and triggered the alarm system. But that was not all—a second explosion came from the back, exactly at the weapons depot, which may be said to be Hiroshi's treasure. After all, the main business of Hiroshi's organization was the illegal trade of weapons, and they were a leading distributor of such firearms to numerous underground groups across the globe.
The explosion engulfed the weapons storage, consuming everything. Hiroshi had planned to send the weapons to a gangster group in a neighboring city tomorrow. Still, unfortunately, that was no longer possible, as everything had been reduced to ashes.
Not only did Ryuuhei blow up and burn down the weapons storage, but he also killed the remaining members of Hiroshi's men without any intention of letting even one of them survive.
Many casualties fell from the Root group's side. At the same time, none of Ryuuhei's men had been killed—only injured, and not seriously at that.
"Die, all of you!" Tsuchigumo shouted with a wide grin, thrilled to see the members of the Root group shot dead by him, especially with the pools of blood staining the ground beneath his feet.
For Ryuuhei, this was truly a beautiful and satisfying sight. He had no regrets about joining this mission, especially since the main objective was to destroy Hiroshi Okada's Root group.
Without mercy, Ryuuhei slaughtered all of Hiroshi's men here and razed the place to the ground by blowing up every building, leaving nothing behind. Ryuuhei took out his phone and called Tetsuya to report the situation.
(Hello.) Tetsuya greeted from the other end of the line.
"Clear, boss," Ryuuhei said proudly, completing the task.
(Great job.) Tetsuya replied with a wide smile over the phone.
