My Young Husband, The Assasin-Chapter 50: A Sister’s Betrayal
Chapter 50 - A Sister's Betrayal
Chapter 50 A Sister's Betrayal
The University of Tokyo Hospital
In one of the patient rooms on the seventh floor, a young girl who had just regained consciousness after a suicide attempt by slashing her wrists was screaming hysterically and thrashing about, causing the nurses to panic and become overwhelmed.
Just a few hours earlier, the girl had nearly lost her life if her family had not quickly brought her to the hospital for immediate treatment. The red-haired girl continued to scream and cry, struggling to leave and refusing to be treated.
"Let me go! Don't stop me from dying!" she wailed hysterically, thrashing around and trying to break free.
In the corner of the room, a middle-aged woman with similarly colored hair was crying sadly, watching her only daughter in such a state. What mother wouldn't feel heartbroken seeing her child suffer?
"Everything will be alright, sis. Calm down," Shina tried to comfort her crying sister-in-law.
"I should have kept Yuna back that night, no matter what the risk," she wept, filled with immense regret over Yuna.
"What to do? Already, it happened. Instead of crying about it, let us face it and mend all."
The ordeal that Yuna experienced had truly traumatized her family. Besides the scandal at the hotel, there was also the suicide attempt she had made earlier that morning.
The hospital doctor treating Yuna had to administer a sedative injection to prevent her from becoming violent and trying to leave, fearing that she might do something to harm herself. The test results conducted by the doctor explained that Yuna was experiencing severe stress. If not handled properly, it was possible that Yuna could develop a mental disorder and need to stay in a mental hospital for more intensive treatment.
Yuna's family was, of course, shocked, especially her mother, who was deeply devastated to learn that her only daughter was suffering from severe stress. Because of the news, the middle-aged woman's health condition worsened, and she also had to be hospitalized.
"Why did it have to come to this?" Shina thought sadly.
A series of problems came one after another, disrupting her peaceful life for decades. Not only had they lost all their wealth and had to live at her brother's house, but Yuna was also suffering from severe stress due to a scandal that was meant to trap Renji but ended up ensnaring Yuna instead. Now, her sister-in-law was also bedridden.
Was God testing her, or was this a punishment for her past actions? The trials kept coming one after another, seemingly endless.
Shina lay on the sofa after a busy day at the hospital, caring for her niece and sister-in-law. She needed rest to break her body and mind from the overwhelming stress of her family's situation.
"Drink this; you must be thirsty," Kairo said, coming over and handing her a glass of water.
"Thank you," she said gratefully, as she was thirsty. "How are Auntie and Yuna?" Kairo asked anxiously, as he couldn't go to the hospital and had to stay home to care for Maki.
"Not good. Yuna was moved to a special room because she keeps having outbursts, and your aunt still hasn't regained consciousness," Shina answered with a sad expression.
"And where is Uncle at a time like this?" Kairo questioned the whereabouts of the middle-aged man, Yuna's father.
"I don't know. I'm also stressed thinking about your uncle, who disappeared at a time like this," she sighed sadly. "Problems keep coming one after another, hitting our family."
"This is all because of that wretched woman!" Maki shouted, interrupting the conversation between her husband and mother-in-law.
"Watch your mouth, Maki!" Kairo snapped angrily
"Don't yell at your wife; she's pregnant," Shina scolded Kairo.
Shina took Maki's hand and guided her to sit beside her. "Don't get angry; it's bad for your pregnancy."
"If only that woman hadn't told Young Master Renji to take revenge, we wouldn't have to face all these misfortunes one after another," Maki groaned angrily, blaming Aira for the misfortunes that had befallen their family.
"If only you could have controlled your words and attitude, maybe we would still be living peacefully in our own home," Kairo said coldly, criticizing Maki's behavior and treatment of Aira.
"Now you're blaming me and defending that wretched woman?" Maki's eyes were already glistening with tears. China had to remain neutral and mediate without taking sides as a woman and a mother.
"I understand how you feel, but Maki, you're not entirely blameless in this matter," Shina said, trying to explain.
"Tell me, Mom, how would you feel if someone called me a bastard while I was still in the womb?" Kairo asked, referring to the cruel words Maki had spoken, which had caused the Kenzaki family to lose everything.
"That..." Shina seemed at a loss for words.
"If anyone dared to call my child a bastard, I would be furious and kill them, no matter who they are," Kairo declared firmly, without a hint of doubt.
Maki bit her lower lip hard, holding back tears. Instead of sadness, she now felt disappointed. It was true—Kairo still had feelings for Aira.
Kairo let out a heavy sigh as if releasing a heavy burden from his shoulders. The gentle touch of his mother's hand on his back helped calm his emotions. "You two should go meet Aira and apologize to her," Shina suggested after a long discussion with her father. "Maybe your hearts will feel at peace, and you can live without feeling burdened."
"I don't want to apologize to that wretched woman!" Maki screamed furiously, unable to accept her mother-in-law's suggestion.
"Lower your pride, Maki. Right now, we are nobody compared to Aira," Kairo tried to reason with her, reminding her of their current situation and who Aira had become.
Maki's face was filled with anger, her eyes glistening with tears. "To me, she will always be a lowly woman!"
Maki refused to accept that Aira's life and status were now better than hers.
"Maki!!!" Kairo shouted. A hard slap landed on Maki's cheek. Everyone in the room fell silent, and a tense stillness filled the air.
It wasn't just Maki who was shocked—Kairo was also surprised that his mother, who had always pampered and defended Maki, could act decisively.
Her eyes widened in shock. "Mom..." Maki whispered, staring in disbelief at what her mother-in-law had done.
"Forgive me for slapping you. As a woman, I understand your hatred for Aira, whom you see as a threat, and I'm afraid she might take Kairo away from you. But as a mother-in-law, I am angry because you keep defying and disrespecting your husband."
Tears finally streamed down Maki's cheeks. Now, even her mother-in-law was defending Aira and forcing her to apologize. Was she really in the wrong?
Aira should have been the one to come and apologize for being the cause of all the suffering she and her family endured.
Within a few hours, Tetsuya obtained information about the person who had spread the malicious news about Aira. It wasn't challenging to get that person's details, especially with Yamato by his side, who was so skilled at analyzing anything and gathering information.
Tetsuya, sitting casually in his office just a while ago, was shocked by the news Yamato brought.
It was truly unexpected for Tetsuya to learn that the girl who had spread lousy news about Aira was this young girl. But what else could be done? Renji had already requested that she be brought in to answer for her actions. Renji could sue and throw her into prison as a lesson so she would regret it and not repeat her actions.
"Are you sure that the owner of this anonymous account is this girl?" Tetsuya asked, still not believing the information Yamato had provided.
"I've checked it a few times, and sure enough, that girl owns the anonymous account. And as far as I know, she is Yuna's close friend. But they went to different schools," Yamato hesitated, unsure if he should continue.
"So, what now, Yamato? Don't talk halfway," Tetsuya snapped in anger.
"Two days ago, a daughter-in-law of the Kenzaki family was seen meeting her at a café owned by one of my school friends," Yamato explained.
Tetsuya took a deep breath, then exhaled quickly. "It's no surprise that that woman, the snake, is stirring up trouble. Should I send her to Nirvana so she stops disturbing Aira's life?"
"So, what should we do now, young master?" Yamato asked, waiting for the next plan.
"Still bring that girl before Renji; do whatever he wants. We are just carrying out the task," Tetsuya ordered, instructing to bring her, "Leave the matter of Raiden Hoshino to me," he added.
"Understood, young master."
As Renji requested this morning, Tetsuya successfully brought the girl who owned the anonymous account. The sweet girl was forcibly picked up by Tetsuya's men, though there was some commotion in front of the Hoshino mansion. However, Tetsuya's men managed to bring her in without any bloodshed.
The girl with long brown hair, dressed in a kimono, sat upright in front of Renji without fear.
Just as Tetsuya was shocked earlier, Renji was even more unable to believe that this girl could act cruelly and wickedly towards her sister, Aira.
If the girl sitting in front of Renji weren't his wife's sister, harsh, degrading words would have been thrown at her, but now the situation was different. Instead of anger, Renji felt profound disappointment, especially since Aira's heart would be sad to know that her sister was capable of such wickedness.
"How could you do this, Hinami Hoshino?" Renji asked coldly.
"Because she deserved it after ruining and taking the happiness of others," Hinami replied with a look full of hatred.
