My Wife is a Hidden Big Shot-Chapter 204 - 198: Reality Show Incident (Part 2)
Cassie Jacobs laughed and replied, "I wish I had these skills. It was all made by the Little Fairy I hijacked on the way here."
Darius Lynch glanced at Aurora Sinclair and said teasingly, "You sure are lucky!"
Just then, Leigh Miles, Jean Quincy, and Luna Jennings had already run over to Aurora Sinclair’s side to watch her cook.
"Aurora, you can cook?" Luna Jennings was astounded. She had assumed Aurora Sinclair, like Jean Quincy, was one of those pampered young ladies who had never lifted a finger in her life. She never imagined Aurora could handle such a heavy wok, let alone toss the food in it!
A burst of flame flared up in the wok, startling the two girls into taking a couple of steps back.
Leigh Miles looked back and said, "Senior Sister used to cater banquets all the time."
"Ban... banquets?"
Now it was Jean Quincy’s turn to be shocked.
"Yep. Senior Sister had to earn money to support us!"
Jean Quincy’s brows furrowed, but before she could dwell on it, Sharon Quincy and the other two teams returned.
Aurora Sinclair made another pot of soup and served it into three bowls—just the right amount, no more, no less.
Seeing that everyone was seated, the director’s team began to announce the groupings for the next game.
"After lunch, each of our guests will have to draw a new support partner."
"Director, requesting permission not to switch partners! I finally found a good one," Cassie Jacobs said with a woeful expression, making everyone laugh.
"Request denied. However, you can trade partners."
Cassie Jacobs asked cheerfully, "To all my esteemed seniors, I just want my Little Fairy. Would you do me the honor?"
Darius Lynch, munching on the food, said, "I’ll have to think about it. I can’t just let you have someone with such amazing cooking skills for free..."
Because of Aurora Sinclair, Darius Lynch exchanged a few more words with Cassie Jacobs, which made Sophia Sloan, who was standing nearby, feel a pang of anxiety. She chimed in with a smile, "Exactly! I want this Little Fairy for myself, too."
At another table, Sharon Quincy covertly sized up Leigh Miles as she ate.
In the last round, their support partners had to help the guests navigate an obstacle course to get a quest item. To her surprise, this young girl was incredibly agile. It was obvious she had trained in martial arts, and her skills were not to be underestimated.
Just as she was pondering this, a member of the director’s team came over with a cardboard box for them to draw lots. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
"Ah... Why are our colors different?" Luna Jennings was instantly dejected when she saw that the colored strips in Leigh Miles’s and Aurora Sinclair’s hands were different from the red ones she and Jean Quincy had.
Aurora Sinclair had a purple strip, and Leigh Miles had a yellow one.
When it was Sharon Quincy’s turn, she drew a purple strip. She smiled and said, "How lucky. Cousin Aurora, I’m with you."
But the words had barely left her mouth when Jean Quincy snatched the purple strip from Aurora Sinclair’s hand. "Aurora, I’ll trade with you."
Sharon Quincy glanced at her, her smile fading slightly. "Jean, what are you doing? I was really hoping to do the mission with Cousin Aurora."
Jean Quincy’s heart trembled. She suppressed her panic and stammered, "I... I want to be in a group with you, Cousin."
Just then, someone from the director’s team suddenly shouted, "No switching groups!"
Sharon Quincy gave her a meaningful look. "Jean, you can’t break the rules of the game..."
Jean Quincy anxiously clenched her fists and glanced at Aurora Sinclair. But Aurora simply patted her hand reassuringly and took the purple strip back.
Next, the celebrity guests drew their colored strips. Cassie Jacobs got her wish and drew purple, so happy she nearly jumped for joy.
This time, Jean Quincy and Luna Jennings were grouped with Sophia Sloan, while Leigh Miles was lucky enough to remain with Darius Lynch.
The director spoke through a megaphone, "Maple Leaf Valley is most famous for The Thousand-Mile Labyrinth. Next, each team of guests and support partners will need to complete the challenges within the labyrinth to find the real treasure..."
The Thousand-Mile Labyrinth covered a vast area. The maze walls were made entirely of perfectly manicured, person-high boxwood hedges.
Every few hundred meters, an NPC from the show’s crew was stationed to issue a task. Only by defeating the NPC could a team obtain a clue to the true treasure.
Cassie Jacobs led the other two through the designated entrance and said nervously, "Little Fairy, I have a terrible sense of direction. You lead the way!"
Aurora Sinclair nodded and took the lead.
The three of them were quite lucky. They hadn’t walked for long before they encountered an NPC, but the task she gave them was bizarre: she asked them to perform a Fist Technique routine.
Sharon Quincy was the first to speak. "Cousin Aurora, you should do this one!"
Cassie Jacobs’s eyes lit up. "Little Fairy, you know how to fight?"
Aurora Sinclair glanced at her and took a few steps forward. The serene aura around her suddenly sharpened. She centered her stance, brought her fist to her palm in a salute, and assumed her starting position. Then, with movements as fluid as flowing water, she executed a basic Veridian Fist Technique.
It was something she had learned from the guys in the archeology department during military training.
Seeing this, the smile on Sharon Quincy’s face deepened abruptly.
They quickly obtained a map fragment.
From then on, their tasks were almost all physically demanding, so much so that Cassie Jacobs began to suspect the production team was setting her up again.
Only Sharon Quincy kept a constant smile on her face.
"Senior Sister—"
At a corner, Aurora Sinclair suddenly ran into Darius Lynch’s team.
The smile on Sharon Quincy’s face froze for a moment, and her brow furrowed involuntarily.
But across from them, Darius Lynch’s gaze had already shifted their way, his eyes holding a silent warning.
Sharon Quincy’s heart skipped a beat.
’Others might not know Darius Lynch’s true identity, but as the Young Master of the Quincy Family, she certainly knew he was the Fourth Master of the Morgan Family.’
He hadn’t followed his own route; instead, he had come looking for Aurora Sinclair.
’Could he know something?’

Meanwhile, Darius Lynch’s and Cassie Jacobs’s teams formed an alliance and began to sweep through the labyrinth, collecting all the clues. They even resorted to tricking, swindling, and outright stealing to get clues from other teams. Even Sophia Sloan, who had been allied with Darius in the first round, was duped out of several clues by him.
She was so furious she was practically hopping mad. She couldn’t for the life of her figure out why Darius Lynch would ally with Cassie Jacobs.
So, Sophia Sloan allied with the other four teams of guests.
To protect their own clues, Aurora Sinclair, Leigh Miles, and Sharon Quincy—the three with the best fighting skills—each took several clues and ran toward the circular plaza in the center of The Thousand-Mile Labyrinth.
The guests and amateurs from the other teams began to chase and intercept the three of them.
"Hahaha... They can’t catch me!" Leigh Miles laughed as she ran. But just as she rounded a corner, she suddenly stopped dead in her tracks.
Standing not far in front of her was a strange figure wearing a silver mask and a black hood.
The fluctuations of Power coming from him were terrifying.
"Someone from Sunstone?" he asked, his voice distorted by a voice changer, making it impossible to identify him.
Wariness flickered in Leigh Miles’s eyes as she quickly mobilized the Power within her body.
Suddenly, he struck. He was incredibly fast, his hand forming a claw as it shot toward Leigh Miles.
Leigh Miles’s expression changed. She quickly threw a punch, meeting his attack with a Strength that carried unstoppable momentum.
There was no wind that day, but the branches of the boxwood hedges around them thrashed violently. Countless green leaves were blasted off by the formless energy of their Power, scattering across the ground.
The two figures became a blur of motion, fighting within the narrow maze path. But gradually, the Power inside Leigh Miles was suppressed by his.
After one exchange of blows, Leigh Miles was forced back more than a dozen steps before she could regain her footing.
A mouthful of blood sprayed from her lips. Leigh Miles’s body went limp, and she fell to one knee.
The man slowly retracted his palm and said indifferently, "So this is all Sunstone amounts to..."
But before he could finish, a slender figure suddenly leaped over the person-high boxwood hedge. She moved with extreme speed, launching a strike of Power at him. The man’s expression changed drastically as he twisted sideways to dodge, but the domineering wave of Power still knocked the hood from his head.
Revealing a head of short, silver hair that glinted in the sunlight.
Both Aurora Sinclair and Leigh Miles froze in shock.
In that fleeting moment of hesitation, the masked man leaped atop the boxwood hedge. As light as a swallow, he stepped on the branches and fled.
"Senior Sister, go after him—!"
