Chapter 205: Chapter 199: Reality Show Controversy (Part 3)

The masked man was fast, but Aurora Sinclair still managed to intercept him.

"As expected of the Guardian’s successor." His voice was tinged with mockery and amusement.

The Power emanating from him surged again, and a trace of caution appeared in Aurora Sinclair’s eyes.

’This man is a Martial King!’

The Power from Aurora Sinclair’s body gradually gathered in her palms. The surrounding branches began to sway violently, and a strange pressure suddenly enveloped The Thousand-Mile Labyrinth.

The people inside the labyrinth were startled, looking up and around.

’What’s going on? Is the weather changing?’

’Why does it feel like the wind is picking up?’

Near Darius Lynch, Elton Morgan’s gaze sharpened, and he shot off in a certain direction.

At the same time, two figures stood facing each other, seemingly frozen in place. The branches around them thrashed violently, a large area already destroyed.

The sound of hurried footsteps approached.

A familiar voice called out from nearby, "Miss Aurora, what’s happening?"

"Stay back—"

The voice, laced with Power, made Elton Morgan freeze.

"Hahaha..."

The masked man suddenly attacked, sending a formidable wave of Power toward Elton Morgan.

Aurora Sinclair moved quickly to block it, and the masked man seized the opportunity to dart away.

By the time Aurora Sinclair turned back, he had already fled a great distance.

As Aurora Sinclair gave chase again, she suddenly came across Sharon Quincy lying on the ground.

A trail of blood was in front of her. She seemed to have been heavily struck and was curled up in pain.

Aurora Sinclair’s eyes darkened. She didn’t retract her Power and slowly approached.

"He... went... that... way..." Sharon Quincy pointed in a certain direction, blood trickling from the corner of her mouth, her face pale.

Aurora didn’t pursue him. Instead, she stood over Sharon, looking down at her.

"Quick... darts... I hit... him..."

Aurora looked in the direction she pointed and saw several darts scattered on the ground.

A few more were stuck in the leaves of a large-leaf boxwood.

Aurora glanced back at her, then resumed the chase in the direction of the darts. Along the way, she saw specks of blood, as if someone had been injured.

Aurora followed the blood trail again, all the way to a secluded room.

There were many bloodstains in front of the door, and the doorknob and lock were also smeared with blood.

Aurora’s gaze sharpened. The smell of blood from inside was strong; it didn’t seem like a minor injury.

She cautiously opened the door and entered, a thick stench of blood washing over her.

A person was slumped over the monitoring console inside, wearing the masked man’s clothes. A silver mask lay nearby, and a silver wig was still on their head.

Aurora carefully avoided the blood on the floor, walked over slowly, and reached out to check for a breath.

Suddenly—

A gust of palm wind struck from behind her head. Aurora spun around with a punch, and their two Powers burst from their fists.

With a series of CRACKS, all the monitor screens in the room shattered and instantly went black.

The masked man stumbled back seven or eight steps, a muffled grunt suggesting he had suffered an internal injury.

He quickly raised his hand, and a silver light flashed. Aurora dodged immediately, only to see a familiar dart plunge into the back of the man at the console.

Then, he strode out and pressed something, activating the entire security system for the monitoring station.

His mocking voice rang out again, "I’m done playing with you, Miss Sunstone..."

Aurora’s expression changed. She rushed to the door and forcefully tore a gap half a person wide in the reinforced door.

The masked man looked back as he fled, terror flashing in his eyes, followed by a fervent gaze.

’Is this the Strength of Sunstone?’

Because breaking through the security system had cost her time, Aurora ultimately failed to catch the masked man.

"Miss Aurora..."

Elton Morgan rushed over just then. Seeing the blood on Aurora’s palm, his face paled. "Are you hurt?"

Aurora stared in a certain direction, her expression grim. "Someone’s dead."

Elton Morgan glanced at the damaged reinforced door and immediately pressed the emergency call button on his wrist. "Lock down Maple Leaf Valley—now!"

Meanwhile, the production crew suddenly received a notification to stop filming and have everyone gather at the small circular plaza.

"What’s going on?" Cassie Jacobs asked, listening to the voice in her earpiece as she looked worriedly at Darius Lynch.

Darius Lynch glanced at the custom men’s watch on his wrist. It displayed two words: Intruder Alert.

The Martial Affairs Bureau’s vehicles arrived quickly. Marshall Shaw and Kevin Whitlock got out of a black SUV and strode toward the scene.

"Is everywhere locked down?"

"All intersections are sealed except for Maple Leaf Mountain."

"When does the helicopter arrive?"

"It’s already airborne. Estimated arrival at Maple Leaf Mountain in ten minutes."

Marshall Shaw’s usually smiling face was now grim and expressionless.

According to Elton Morgan, the man had injured Aurora Sinclair’s junior martial sister and the Young Master of the Quincy Family, and had also killed someone. However, all surveillance footage from the murder scene was blank, leaving Aurora as the only eyewitness.

"Captain, a call from headquarters..." an agent ran over from behind, holding out a phone.

Marshall Shaw’s heart tightened as he quickly put it to his ear.

But the voice on the other end was Alvin Morgan’s. "I’ll be there soon..."

By now, Aurora Sinclair and Elton Morgan had been taken to a room by the first agents from the Martial Affairs Bureau to arrive to give their statements.

Leigh Miles and the Young Master of the Quincy Family, due to their severe injuries, had been taken to the scenic area’s infirmary to be treated by a special Martial Healer.

The sudden turn of events sent a wave of panic through the entire production team.

The black uniforms signifying the Martial Affairs Bureau’s presence made everyone uneasy. The director went to negotiate but was only told that a crime had occurred and everyone needed to be questioned.

Soon after, yellow police tape was put up around the circular plaza.

The surrounding exits were firmly guarded by members of the Martial Affairs Bureau. No one could leave.

"Jean, what’s going on?" Luna Jennings asked, looking nervously at the uniformed people on the perimeter.

Beside them, Melody Sinclair’s expression tensed as she looked around. "Why aren’t Aurora and Leigh back yet?"

"That’s right! Why aren’t they back yet?" Jean Quincy immediately took out her phone to call Aurora Sinclair, but no one answered.

She tried calling Leigh Miles, but again, there was no answer.

A sense of foreboding washed over her.

"I’m going out to find them."

Elsewhere, Sophia Sloan’s agent and fans had started arguing with the personnel from the Martial Affairs Bureau.

Sophia Sloan saw Darius Lynch and Cassie Jacobs being led out of the plaza separately and wanted to follow, but the Martial Affairs Bureau personnel wouldn’t let them leave.

"Why can’t you let our Sophia go?"

"Do you have any idea who our artist is?"

"It’s so sunny out here, and our artist isn’t feeling well. What’s wrong with letting her find a room to rest?"

But the Martial Affairs Bureau agent remained stone-faced, blocking the way. "No comment! Please return immediately..."

The fans weren’t having it. "What a show of authority!" one sneered. "Believe it or not, we’ll expose you online."

"Yeah, so what if you’re the Martial Affairs Bureau?"

When Jean Quincy arrived, Sophia Sloan’s fans were already trying to break through the cordon.

The entrance was in chaos.

Suddenly, a gunshot rang out, and everyone’s expression changed.

A powerfully built man in a black uniform had raised a gun and fired a shot into the air.

"Anyone who tries to force their way through again will be shot on sight!"

Sophia Sloan’s fans turned pale with fright and scrambled back. Sophia herself was terrified by the man’s ferocious aura.

Kevin Whitlock glared at the spoiled celebrity and her fans, snorted coldly, and turned to leave.

"Wait, Officer..." Jean Quincy called out, mustering her courage.

Kevin Whitlock turned back impatiently. His gaze made Jean Quincy’s face flush with panic. "My... my cousin and my sister aren’t back yet."

"Wait—"

Jean Quincy flinched and said in a trembling voice, "Officer, I’m from the Quincy family. My cousin and my sister were with Darius Lynch and Cassie Jacobs. They’re back, but the two of them still aren’t..."

Kevin Whitlock’s steps faltered. He turned back to size her up. ’A Quincy? A relative of the Young Master of the Quincy Family?’

He frowned and replied, "She can’t come over for now."

Kevin Whitlock had his subordinate let her out and take her to the room where Darius Lynch and Cassie Jacobs were waiting.

"Wait in there."

Jean Quincy gave him a grateful look and happily pushed the door open. "Aurora, you scared me to death..."

Hearing this, Kevin Whitlock stopped in his tracks, his expression darkening slightly as he asked, "You know Aurora Sinclair?"
