Chapter 203: Chapter 197: The Reality Show Controversy (Part 1)

Sharon Quincy was familiar with the staff here, and she expertly led them straight to the filming location through the employee entrance.

There were many unique houses in this scenic area. Aside from the ones the celebrity guests were staying in, the rest were available for the amateur guests to choose from freely.

Because Sharon Quincy was close with the production team, she took her group directly to the houses closest to where the celebrity guests were staying.

The shoot would last for two days and one night, so the invited amateur guests could stay overnight.

"Jean, when can we see Darius Lynch?" Luna Jennings asked excitedly after putting down her luggage.

Ever since she found out she would have a chance to get close to Darius Lynch, she had been excited for days and even had insomnia last night.

This morning, she had to apply a lot of powder to cover her dark circles.

Jean Quincy glanced at her phone. Darius Lynch’s agent, Byron Lawson, had already replied. She answered, quite excited herself, "Lawson said he’s sending someone to pick us up in a bit."

Luna Jennings took out her makeup bag and touched up her makeup. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

Sitting by the door, Aurora Sinclair watched Sharon Quincy talking with a staff member not far away, her expression growing a little solemn.

’She was on Morgan’s list of suspects. Although Sharon Quincy’s official Combat Power was a Ninth Rank Great Martial Master, it wasn’t impossible for her to have ascended to Martial Arts Master. Besides, the Quincy Family’s Hidden Weapons were renowned.’

"Young Master, the props are all ready. In the second segment, we’ll have them split up."

"Good. Remember to put me and Aurora Sinclair in the same group."

Sharon Quincy smiled and patted his shoulder. When she turned around, her eyes met Aurora Sinclair’s. She paused for a moment, then raised her hand and gave a little wave.p>Aurora Sinclair gave a slight nod and turned to leave.

The person Byron Lawson sent arrived quickly, but the resort buggy he was driving could only seat three people. "How many of you are there in total? Isn’t it just three? I can’t take this many."

In the end, the ones who went were Luna Jennings, Sharon Quincy, and Leigh Miles.

Meanwhile, Aurora Sinclair took Titus Miles and Melody Sinclair to enjoy the beautiful scenery nearby.

Melody Sinclair reminded her in a low voice, "The Quincys are usually very low-key, but their strength should not be underestimated. In Veridia’s freestyle combat tournaments, the champions at the Great Martial Master Level are almost always from the Quincy Family. They have a large number of martial masters in the association, even more than the Lowell Family. They’re considered a major force on the Lockwood Family’s side..."

Aurora Sinclair nodded.

Just as she was speaking, two people suddenly appeared up ahead.

The one in the lead was an energetic beauty with her hair tied up in a high ponytail. She wore a tight-fitting athletic top and a pair of black stretch pants.

A cameraman was filming her from the side.

Cassie Jacobs’s eyes lit up the moment she saw them. She trotted over. "Are you guys sent by the production team to save me?"

She was a newcomer to the entertainment industry who had debuted through a talent show. She had a little bit of fame, but compared to the other five celebrities on the show, her popularity wasn’t even a fraction of theirs. As a result, she was just a marginal figure on the program.

Her assigned role was also that of an unlikable side character meant to make others look good.

In the last round, she was crushed by the "genius scholar" Sophia Sloan and lost the competition. Her penalty was to cook today’s lunch, so now she was desperate to find a place to cook.

But the production team was deliberately making things difficult for her. They gave her a ridiculously complicated map, wanting her to get lost and be late with dinner, which would then give Sophia Sloan the chance to "rescue" her.

Cassie Jacobs noticed that the older woman of the three was reluctant to have herself and the child on camera, so she switched positions to let the camera film only herself and Aurora Sinclair.

"Miss, can you read a map?"

Aurora Sinclair nodded.

"I need to find this place, and I have to cook. Can you please help me?" Cassie Jacobs begged, clasping her hands together and putting on a cute face.

Aurora Sinclair thought for a moment and agreed.

Cassie Jacobs breathed a sigh of relief. The production team was deliberately trying to boost Sophia Sloan’s popularity, so naturally, they needed a foil.

As an artist with no popularity, no notable works, and no backing—the "three no’s"—she was the perfect supporting character.

But even a clay doll has a bit of a temper, and she didn’t want to be constantly manipulated by the production team just to make someone else look good.

"The production team finally heard my prayers and sent a little beauty to save me," Cassie Jacobs said thankfully to the camera, then told the cameraman to get a close-up of Aurora Sinclair’s side profile.

And just like that, Aurora Sinclair became Cassie Jacobs’s amateur helper, accepting the team ribbon she was given.

Cassie’s map was a bird’s-eye view of the entire Maple Leaf Valley. Aurora Sinclair scanned the surrounding environment, then started leading them in one direction.

The paths here were winding, with many small forks, making it easy to get lost.

But Aurora Sinclair miraculously led her and the cameraman to their destination. Cassie was so excited she immediately hugged Aurora Sinclair, coming just short of kissing her.

It was a small plaza with a simple canopy set up in the middle. Their task was to use a primitive stove and a large iron wok to cook up a five-star hotel-quality meal.

Next to the stove stood a large screen displaying the dinner orders from the other guests.

Cassie Jacobs had grown up in the countryside and was skilled at farm work, so cooking was naturally no problem for her. But the production team, intent on making things difficult, required her and Aurora Sinclair to perfectly replicate the photos of the other guests’ orders—including the color, aroma, taste, and presentation. Finally, the guests would have to score their dishes.

When she saw the carved radish flower, a stampede of ten thousand alpacas ran through Cassie Jacobs’s mind. She looked at the off-camera director with a mournful expression. "Do we have to replicate this flower too?"

The director nodded and reminded her in a low voice, "There’s a tutorial video next to it."

Cassie Jacobs glanced at the large iron cleaver on the cutting block, having no idea where to even begin.

She looked pleadingly at Aurora Sinclair, who was washing vegetables nearby. "Miss, do you know how to do decorative carving?"

Aurora Sinclair glanced at the task screen and nodded.

She walked over, pulled a white radish from the vegetable basket, and deftly cut it into several pieces with the heavy cleaver.

To the astonishment of Cassie Jacobs and the cameraman, she quickly used the cleaver to shave a piece of the radish into a long, evenly thin strip. Then, following the method in the tutorial video, she used a toothpick to roll it into a blooming rose.

Cassie Jacobs was moved to tears. "Oh my God!" she exclaimed. "You’re the Little Fairy sent to save me! Quick, tell me, did my small, broke agency spend a fortune to hire you, a master chef?"

Aurora Sinclair glanced at her and shook her head. "I haven’t been paid."

"Hahaha..."

Two hours later, Darius Lynch and Sophia Sloan’s group finally returned after completing their task.

Jean Quincy, Luna Jennings, and Leigh Miles followed behind them excitedly, along with Sophia Sloan’s amateur helpers.

To show their gratitude, the celebrities were supposed to invite their amateur helpers to have dinner with them.

"This place is pretty remote. I wonder if Cassie has found it yet? What if we get there and she still isn’t back?" Sophia Sloan said with a smile, setting the stage.

She was already preparing to follow the script for the next step.

Suddenly, an exclamation came from behind her. "Wow, it smells amazing! I smell spicy roasted chicken. Could my senior sister be here too?"

Immediately after, a small figure dashed forward.

Darius Lynch’s eyes lit up, and his pace quickened considerably.

’He had eaten the seafood feast Aurora Sinclair had cooked back at the beach. The taste was out of this world! It was even better than what the Morgan Family’s chefs could make.’

"Looks like she’s already finished," Darius Lynch replied with a smile.

Not far ahead, a crowd of cameramen were gathered. Sophia Sloan’s face filled with shock. ’Cassie Jacobs is already here?’

The group quickly arrived at the small plaza and saw that the three round tables under the canopy were already laden with exquisite dishes. In the very center was a flower basket carved from a pumpkin, filled with numerous hand-carved radish flowers.

Cassie Jacobs, wearing an apron, was currently placing dishes on the table. When she saw them, she greeted them with a beaming smile, "My idol, Sophia, come and eat!"

Sophia Sloan pressed her lips together and glanced at the director in the distance. Seeing the director shake her head slightly, she knew the plan had changed.

She immediately put on a smile and asked, "Cassie, did you make all of this?"
