My Vampire Wives Want My Blood!-Chapter 68- Blood Momentum (Part 3)
Chapter 68- Blood Momentum (Part 3)
Through his bloodied vision, Elio saw that notification, and his eyes widened slightly. ’Blood... Momentum?’ He asked himself as if something clicked in his head. He had no time to think or even comprehend what was happening around him.
He had suffered so many injuries, and he didn’t know if he was dying or not. The sounds around him became an echo, and only the sword in his hand was visible to him. Blood splattered everywhere, and he couldn’t tell whether it was his or that of his enemies.
Either way, Elio had lost it completely, and death and life didn’t matter to him anymore. He swung, stabbed, grabbed, kicked, and did everything he could. He even bit some of the bats that stabbed him near the shoulder, pulling them away.
But the moment that notification appeared, it was as if his body realized something, and then, almost immediately, it tried to do it all on its own. Elio was in no state to think, so his body seemingly started doing the thinking for him.
His energy, which was all going into his physical boosting, was cut in half, with a big part of it accumulating around his heart. While the boy was still battling for his life, one of the runes engraved into his heart suddenly lit up.
The moment it did, all that energy surged forward toward his hand.
"Huh?" The boy felt it immediately and frowned. "What is-"
Before he could even finish that sentence, he saw something mind-blowing. The piles of dead bats and severed body parts beneath him started vibrating as if wind was slamming into them. The large pool of blood beneath it also shook visibly. Then, in a fit of pure magic, the blood started rising from the ground in long strings.
The blood quickly floated toward Elio’s hand, as if it were being summoned. The sight was perhaps the weirdest Elio had ever seen in his entire life. Staring at it with awe, the blood slowly accumulated over the palm of his hand, forming a bigger and bigger sphere.
All the blood got sucked from the ground, and by the time the process was done, the sphere was quite large, almost bigger than Elio’s head. The bats watched that and immediately backed away, confused and sensing something was off with their target. His energy was moving in a different way, which alerted them.
’This...’ The red blood reflected in Elio’s eyes as he stared at it silently. The sensation it gave him was indescribable. He felt like he was connected to that blood, as if it were now a part of him. The sphere moved idly, waiting for Elio to do something.
Surprisingly, Elio knew deep down what he needed to do. His eyes turned colder as he stared up at the swarm of bats.
Then, Elio stretched his hand forward, aiming the sphere at the bats. His eyes were wide open, unblinking. Not a single shred of emotion was left in them; it was as if the boy had shut off his mind, and what was left was cold, deadly logic.
*Click*
A clicking sound, and then everything shifted into pure chaos. The sphere suddenly blasted out of his hand at horrifying speed. In a split second, it reached the swarm and slammed into one of the bats.
*BOOOOOOOOOM*
The moment it did, the blood exploded in every direction violently, spraying all the bats. Many died instantly upon impact as it was extremely powerful, while the rest were blasted back into the wall violently, falling to the ground like flies.
"..." Elio exhaled heavily as he stared at the results and then at his hand in complete awe. He cannot believe what he has just done.
A rush of thrill filled his heart. But he quickly shook his head and rushed toward the enemy. He cannot relax; there are many still alive. Using his sword, he started stabbing and slicing through them before they could wake up. The screeches of death echoed in the cave.
In a matter of minutes, Elio murdered every single one of the bats left alive. After ending the last one, his entire body slumped over the sword, barely able to stay standing. His breathing was weak and ragged.
His body was covered in scratches and holes that were still seeping blood. His face had turned so pale that one could see his veins clearly. His eyes were bloodshot red, and he felt like the entire world was spinning.
’I’ve... done it... I don’t know how, but... I’ve done it.’ His eyes rolled back for a second before he turned around and looked at Fiona.
The girl had been silent the entire time, so he thought she fainted or was just unable to speak anymore. However, much to his surprise, Fiona was awake and her eyes were wide open, staring at him in complete silence.
Her look told a thousand stories, yet the one Elio saw the most was amazement... A deep, profound amazement.
What she had witnessed was perhaps the most shocking thing Fiona had ever seen. It all happened instantly. Elio accumulated the blood and then blasted it into one single point, creating a very big explosion.
’Blood Momentum... That’s one of his runes...’ Fiona recalled the runes Elio gained. ’The fact he was able to remember it and use it...’
Even with her hazy mind, she was aware of how truly impressive that is. He had never used that ability before; this was truly ridiculous. A feat only Elio could pull off in such a deadly situation and succeed.
He had faced enemies way above his level.
"A-Are you ok... Fiona...?" Elio asked with one of his eyes barely open while the other was completely covered in blood. Miserable was an understatement to describe the way he looked at that moment.
He looked wretched. She didn’t know how he was able to bear all that pain and stay standing. He had an unbreakable will and a ridiculous pain tolerance.
"E-E... lio... Abs...orb... The... blood..." Fiona said weakly. She immediately remembered something that could help him. He had killed so many of the batas, and the blood they spilled was in large quantities; he needed that to recover his lost energy.
’Absorb the blood...?’ Elio blinked his one eye before he looked around him and realized what she meant. ’Right, I need to do that. I’m almost about to faint, shit.’
Hurrying himself, Elio stretched his hand and imagined what Fiona taught him the other day. Closing his eyes, he let his body do what it knows best.
The absorption process began almost immediately as the blood was drawn toward him again from an area of a dozen feet all around him. Slowly, he absorbed that blood, refining that energy inside him.
His tired and depleted body absorbed every bit hungrily. It didn’t leave anything behind as it used all that energy to start recharging his Blood Energy and healing his numerous energy.
[Your absorption process was successful.]
[All your stats increased by 10 points.]
It didn’t take long for that notification to pop up in his retina. Elio exhaled a satisfied sigh; his body had been injected with some energy, and he could, at the very least, not faint immediately.
Then, he turned to Fiona and nodded his head, notifying her that it had been successful. Then, Elio simply dropped to the ground, losing all the strength he had in his body.
