My Vampire Wives Want My Blood!-Chapter 67- Blood Momentum (Part 2)
Chapter 67- Blood Momentum (Part 2)
The swarm didn’t even wait a second to attack Elio. Like a giant black cloud, they flew toward him, aiming to skewer him ruthlessly. The sight was soul-shaking, to say the least. Elio felt his senses kick in as he quickly turned toward Fiona. He cannot pick her up and escape in time, so he decided to do something different.
Turning to face the other direction, he dashed away from Fiona, pulling the bats with him. Luckily, they seemed more focused on him as none tried to approach Fiona. He ran around before he headed deeper into the cave to lure them in.
At the same time, he started channeling his Blood Energy as he turned around and sliced with his sword. At the same time, a bat had approached him and tried to stab him in the back of the head. However, the sword was ready to meet it halfway before it could touch him, severing its body in half with great ease.
However, rapidly, many more replaced it, attacking him from every angle. Elio quickly stepped back, dodging several stingers that stabbed into the ground. They were fast and barely visible in this dark atmosphere, giving him a way worse position.
He couldn’t even find time to counter as more attacked from the sides and even from the back. He was forced to start moving again, as fast as he could.
’What the hell should I even do? I’m going to get swarmed!’ Elio clenched his teeth as he looked over his shoulder. Even though he was able to kill two of them, facing an entire hive was simply impossible; he would get scewered brutally with no mercy.
He was not fast or strong enough to do that. So, his best option was to try to drag them away till he figures out some sort of idea to kill them or at least take Fiona and escape.
However, much to his horror, at a certain point, when he ran deep into the cave, the monsters suddenly stopped and then turned around, flying back out as if they realized something.
"Huh?! Come back here!" He yelled as he turned around and chased them, realizing what they could potentially do. Fiona was still there, completely immobilized and defenseless; they could very much kill her if they wanted.
That fear made Elio run faster than he ever ran before in his life. His entire body gained immense strength from the adrenaline coursing through his veins. His feet were like a flash, leaping several meters with each stride. Reaching the spot where Fiona was, he lunged forward as he formed a barrier around her at the very last split second before a monster could stab her neck.
The stab instead went into his shoulder, digging a bit deep. Elio groaned in pain as he protected Fiona. At the same time, he grabbed the bat with his bare hand and pulled it away, crying from pain as blood splurted out.
Throwing it on the ground, he stabbed it with the sword, killing it on the spot. Then, he stood up and held his sword with his two hands. He glared coldly at the swarm that stopped when it felt his terrifying aura flare.
In their eyes, that human’s aura was like a sharp sword ready to slice them mercilessly. However, it didn’t take any level of intelligence to realize that the aura itself wasn’t enough. The boy was clearly outnumbered and weak, while also having to protect an injured girl.
The bats realized that as they started closing down the distance between them.
"Stay away!!!" Elio yelled as he stared around him briefly. ’There is no escape route. We can’t get out of here!’ He clenched his teeth in frustration.
His only chance was to carve a way out of there. But, at what cost? He was almost certain that it wouldn’t be easy.
Sucking a deep breath, Elio strengthened his will and got ready for what was about to happen. A second later, the bats attacked, this time with far higher aggression than before. They flew toward him all at the same time.
The boy channeled his exhausted Blood Energy and swung the sword. Instantly, it cut through several bats at the same time. It was quick like lightning, leaving no room for reaction.
However, those he killed with that swing were nothing in comparison to the rest of the swarm. Many more attacked Elio, making him swing his sword again, trying to push them away.
He killed several more, but a few were able to dodge his sword and stab him in the arms and the side. The boy inched in pain before he quickly shook them off and attacked again. Luckily, the stingers weren’t strong enough to deliver a deadly blow. The only spot that could be deadly was his throat and head, which was why they targeted them.
Elio instinctively protected that area and made sure none attacked him there. The rest of his body, however, was completely exposed.
In a matter of seconds, Elio was ruthlessly stabbed in many spots. The swarm surrounded him ruthlessly, attacking intelligently and efficiently. They weren’t exactly smart, but they had cohesion, and that cohesion became apparent very quickly.
Elio swung his sword as he used his other arm to protect his face. He had killed many, dozens and dozens to be exact. Each swing was lethal, and any unlucky bat within its range was dead. He didn’t stop slicing and thrusting like a maniac. That was his only chance.
Meanwhile, he kept taking damage, stabbed by stab, blood poured down his torso in terrifying quantities. He looked horrifying, riddled like Swiss cheese with small holes.
He had completely forgotten about the pain as he defended Fiona with his life.
"E... lio... No..." Meanwhile, the girl herself watched the scene, incapable of doing anything. Her heart ached greatly, and she was in complete disbelief.
She wanted to yell at him to stop and run for his life, but she couldn’t, and deep down, she knew that he wouldn’t listen. Seeing his back as he fought ruthlessly, she could only feel awe... An awe so profound, she wasn’t aware that it was going to last her an entire lifetime.
A weak boy, facing a deadly enemy, and yet he didn’t back away or even let a single bat get to her. Even when the swarm tried to, and even though he was outnumbered to hell, he never let a single one get to her.
Whether that was by killing them or taking the blow himself, Fiona was completely untouched. That thought alone affected her greatly... Her lips quivered as she stared at her partner.
’Why... Why are you doing all of this for me? What do you gain from it?’ She asked in her head, completely filled with frustration.
He had a life to live, and they barely met a week ago. He didn’t have to do all of this for her; he wasn’t supposed to. He should’ve felt scared and run away as quickly as possible, and Fiona would’ve been happy with that; he cherished his own life over hers.
Yet, Elio didn’t. She couldn’t understand why. He was bleeding to death slowly, stab by stab.
"AAAGH! Stay away!" He yelled with full rage, swinging his sword like a crazed maniac. His bloody appearance made him appear demonic. A monster that looked no better than the monsters he was brutally killing and piling right under his feet.
