My Ultimate OP System: Summoning All Dragons, Gods, Heroes & Villains-Chapter 114: Raising Thy Guard Up
At the manor, the next morning...
Ethan, dressed in a white shirt and black trousers was standing just outside the main entrance door leading into the manor itself.
Before him were nine figures arranged in a loose formation. These were his recently acquired summons, along with Finn.
Two others, Nina and Albedo, were at his side; although Albedo had been ordered to stay absolutely quiet. The frown on her face made it clear just how much she hated that particular command.
Ethan addressed the group. "Those assigned to the house, take your positions."
Three summons, all Knight-class, vanished in blurs of motion as they leaped away toward different assigned positions.
The first appeared atop the manor’s roof a moment later. She had long brown hair tied in a ponytail and wore brown leather armor over a white shirt. In the next instant, her bow was drawn, an arrow already nocked and ready.
This summon possessed Ranger-like abilities and skills similar to Finn’s, specializing in long-range attacks.
The second Knight-class summon blitzed out through the gates and disappeared into the streets. She was to watch and cover for any approach suspicious approach toward the manor.
The third Knight-class summon took up position at the back of the manor. He was a beast-person with animal-like ears and messy brown hair.
He possessed a staff with an orange orb emitting fire and in his other hand, he held a lantern. From all indications, this summon specialized in fire-based attacks and could unleash ranged spells when needed.
Ethan turned his attention to the remaining summons standing before him.
"Finn," he said, looking directly at the young blonde. "You and the others may go now. I’ll be watching."
He tapped the side of his head to indicate he would monitor them through the bond skill connection they shared.
Finn nodded and turned to leave with four other summons close behind him. They had been assigned to guard Stark Industries.
Now only one summon remained before Ethan.
She was small, no taller than a child, with white hair and round tinted glasses that did not fully obscure her red eyes.
She wore an oversized black witch’s robe with a large pointed hat that seemed almost comically large on her small frame. At her feet were two black cats with glowing red eyes and tails swishing back and forth.
This summon, was Rue.
Ethan stared down at her for a moment before speaking. "I really do not know what to do with you."
A system screen materialized before his vision, displaying her profile information:

When he focused on the Reading skill, additional text appeared:
[Reading → This summon enjoys reading extensively and retains information from written material]
Ethan’s eyes narrowed as he read through it.
"I have never seen a more useless summon," he said bluntly. "And yet somehow, even while starting at the lowest class possible, you have the most potential of all my summons."
He paused before adding with frustration in his voice, "You’re even a child, dammit."
Rue’s expression remained completely blank as she stared up at him without reacting.
Ethan crouched down slightly so he was closer to her eye level. "You don’t remember how you died? Or what you can do?"
Rue shook her head slowly and shrugged her small shoulders.
Ethan sighed and stood back up before addressing his system mentally, "System, do you have anything on this summon?"
A new message appeared, [No additional information is available regarding this summon at this time]
Ethan shook his head.
"This potential rating at Beast-class has to be for a reason," he muttered. "So I get this feeling you won’t be totally useless."
He thought about it for another moment before turning toward Albedo, who still had the same disgruntled frown on her face.
"Albedo," Ethan said. "Take Rue to any of the rooms upstairs. Since the only skill she has is reading, I’ll get her a few books. Perhaps that would be a start somewhere."
Albedo’s frown deepened as she made an exaggerated gesture with two fingers pointing toward her own mouth.
Ethan added. "I will let you speak when you do as you’re told."
Albedo’s shoulders slumped in defeat as she let out an audible groan before motioning for Rue to follow her inside.
Rue walked quietly behind Albedo and her two cats followed behind.
Now only Nina remained standing nearby, waiting for whatever command Ethan would give next.
Ethan said nothing to her yet. Instead, he walked forward into the open courtyard just before the main gates.
And as he moved, Jenner’s grimoire materialized in his right hand.
At that exact moment, Eduardo and Valerie emerged from inside the house dressed formally and ready to leave for Stark Industries.
They both stopped when they noticed what Ethan was doing and watched without interrupting.
Ethan opened the grimoire to a specific page he had marked earlier and scanned over its contents one last time before closing it again as the book dissolved into specks of purple light.
Then he raised his left hand upward toward the sky.
Suddenly, an enormous purple magic circle materialized at the skies and began expanding outward until it covered not just the manor itself but also its entire surrounding grounds beneath its glowing radius.
Eduardo stared up at the sky with genuine amazement while Valerie gasped.
"I can’t believe he actually got this spell right..." Valerie whispered.
Eduardo turned toward her. "What is this?"
Valerie explained quickly while still staring upward, "After the princess left last evening, Master Ethan called me over to help identify any usable spells from Granny Jenner’s grimoire that could help with our current situation. He spent the entire night learning how to cast this one properly."
She gestured upward. "This is called a Sealing Barrier Spell. Only people or things that the caster acknowledges can enter or leave the barrier once it’s activated."
Then her brow furrowed. "But I wonder what Master Ethan intends to use as this spell’s anchor since there are no totems set anywhere..."
Right then, they both watched as Ethan stretched out his right hand as a smaller purple magic circle appeared over his open palm for just an instant before he slammed it directly into his own chest.
Both the larger overhead circle and smaller personal circle faded right after. The spell was now set and active.
Valerie’s eyes widened in shock. "He’s using himself?! Even if he has enough mana to power this continuously... there’s only so much strain a body can withstand"
