My Tribrid System: More than a Monster-Chapter 133: A Dark Thought
Chapter 131
It took an immense amount of effort for Ray to actually regain control over his own physical form.
Unfortunately, since he had granted Elyon two hours of autonomy, the celestial made sure to utilize every single second to the maximum potential—systematically damaging Ray’s reputation further with every passing minute.
He had wandered from place to place, persistently asking to be praised and patted on the head like a pampered pet.
While some students awkwardly complied with the bizarre requests, others simply chased him away with mocking laughter and stinging insults.
Bruce had laughed throughout the entire ordeal until Ray, fueled by pure indignation, finally managed to smack Elyon out of the mental chair.
He regained control mid-bow just as he was soliciting praise from a bewildered Aspirant.
The moment he felt his limbs belong to him again, Ray awkwardly bolted from the scene, the echoes of collective laughter ringing in his ears.
Inwardly, Bruce was actually patting Elyon’s head in genuine amusement, praising the celestial for the stunt he had pulled off.
In his own gravelly words, the werewolf had remarked:
"You actually helped me teach the brat a lesson, eh? Wonderful job. You’re really a top-tier celestial for that one."
Meanwhile, Ray remained silently fuming in the back of his own mind.
Luckily, the scheduled gear training commenced a few minutes later, providing him with a much-needed distraction to take his mind off the afternoon’s humiliation.
The session proceeded as normal, with the instructor ensuring everyone perfected their synchronization with the Vector Mobility System boots.
With the assistance of several powerful earth meta-humans, complex obstacles rose from the field, and the Aspirants were tasked with navigating them one after the other.
Weaving through these barriers was no simple feat, as they had to learn how to maneuver past shifting terrain while simultaneously activating their combat abilities.
It was a daunting task, especially considering that the advanced tech caused holographic targets—bearing the grotesque faces of Aberrants—to pop out from the shadows without warning.
Some Aspirants crashed directly into the obstacles, while others fell awkwardly from the air, startled by the sudden holographic jumpscares.
But through the chaos, a few individuals remained impressive.
Ray, Kai, and Trisha navigated the course with predatory grace.
Even Chloe proved to be surprisingly adept; she occasionally utilized her telekinesis to stabilize her flight path and anchor herself while weaving past the targets.
In all, the training proceeded smoothly and eventually concluded with the Aspirants feeling heavily exhausted.
With their duties finished for the day, they dragged their battered feet toward the dormitories after depositing their VMS gear back in the locker room.
Kai was nowhere to be found afterward; Ray rarely knew where the boy disappeared to after the official drills ended.
As for Van, the Tribrid knew his best friend was almost certainly locked away in his private workshop, meticulously building one invention or another.
Consequently, Ray found himself alone in the quiet dorm room, his gaze fixed upward on the ceiling.
"Ah... today was draining, both mentally and physically. Honestly, I just learned a very valuable lesson today."
"What’s that?" Elyon asked with genuine, wide-eyed curiosity.
"... To never let you idiots take control over my body recklessly ever again! Tsk."
With a sharp scoff, Ray closed his eyes.
"Man, I just need to rest. My meeting with Felix is in just a few hours."

Minutes stretched into long hours while Ray rested in the silence of the room.
He wasn’t specifically sleeping; he simply kept his eyes shut to recover his focus.
Time drifted by until Kai finally made his way back to the quarters.
Mistaking Ray’s stationary form for a deep slumber, the blonde youth simply strode over to his corner and went about his business quietly.
Van, as usual, likely wouldn’t show up until ten minutes before the final curfew—which was still a long way off.
Soon enough, Ray’s watch emitted a sharp beep, causing him to snap his eyes open abruptly.
Glancing down at the interface, the time was displayed boldly in the dim light.
8:30 pm
It was finally time.
Rising from his bed, Ray turned to see Kai lounging nearby, completely absorbed in his phone.
A sleek headset was mounted over the blonde’s ears as he focused intently on his screen, oblivious to his surroundings.
Ignoring him, Ray exited the dormitory room with swift, purposeful strides.
Soon enough, he found himself standing on the expansive school roof.
The heavy metal door clicked shut behind him, sealing off the interior of the building.
With his back to the entrance, Ray fixed his gaze ahead, taking in the panoramic view.
The entirety of the Corps’ grounds lay bare before his eyes, stretching out into the darkness.
From this vantage point, he could even discern the jagged edge of the distant forest.
A cool evening breeze wafted through the air, caressing his hair and face with a gentle, refreshing touch that made him smile softly for a fleeting moment.
That was when the soft, mechanical click of the door echoing in his ears signaled a new arrival.
Almost immediately, a familiar, musky scent wafted into his nose, making it tingle slightly.
The obnoxiously cheerful werewolf stepped onto the roof, not forgetting to pull the door firmly shut behind him.
"What’s up, what’s up, my man? How are you feeling after that weirdly dramatic display from earlier?!" Felix asked in his usual boisterous tone, a silent, mocking chuckle buried beneath his words.
Ray turned around slowly.
A frown crested his face as a dark, intrusive thought settled in the back of his mind.
Looking around the area, the roof was undeniably wide—it felt almost like a small, elevated road—providing ample space for movement.
Turning his head to peer over the side, he noted that the distance from the roof to the concrete ground below was quite considerable; about ten meters or so.
Seeing the drop, his lips curled into a twisted, fleeting smile.
But before the dark thought could formulate further, he shook his head, dispelling the impulse while forcing himself to focus on the task at hand.
"So, what exactly do you want to talk about, brother?" Felix asked as he strolled forward.
Without a shred of caution, he sat down at the very edge of the roof, his back turned toward Ray.
’Hm. I wonder what would happen if he suddenly fell from this height. Surely, it would just be framed as a tragic accident, right? Also, I wonder just how quickly he actually regenerates,’ Ray grinned inwardly as he began walking toward the unaware werewolf with measured, predatory steps.
When he was only a foot away from the seated figure, Ray frowned slightly but then exhaled a weary sigh before sitting directly beside him.
’No. I can’t afford to do anything of the sort. At this point, I need every bit of strength I can gather. If this pervert can truly help me achieve my goals, I won’t take his life... yet.’
"Oh yeah, I wanted to know about the werewolf rankings and the hierarchy that exists. I was curious," Ray finally uttered while staring at Felix’s profile.
After a brief moment of thought, he added:
"... Also, I want to know about the werewolf world itself."
Upon hearing that last sentence, a shadow crossed Felix’s face.
For some reason, Ray’s enhanced hearing picked up the sound of the werewolf’s heartbeat spiking incredibly fast.
It was as if he were suddenly... terrified?
’What the hell is going on with him?’ Ray mused, his curiosity piqued by the sudden shift in the other boy’s demeanor.
