My Super Sassy Dad: Stop Running Away, Mrs. Quinn!-Chapter 259: Is It Funny?
"Really?" Melody Thorne looked down. When she woke up this morning, she found a hickey on her neck and wore a collared top that would perfectly cover it up, so how could it be too low?
When Jared Quinn’s finger pressed down, the red mark inside was both provocative and conspicuous...
But when Melody Thorne lowered her head, she saw nothing.
Kiki Sutton shot Melody Thorne an ambiguous glance. These documents were reviewed really well.
"What is that? Did a mosquito bite you?" Timmy noticed sharply.
"No," Jared Quinn added a piece of meat to Melody Thorne’s plate, and said meaningfully, "You’ll understand when you grow up."
Timmy "...Really?"
"Yes."
Hans Montrose appeared indifferent, as if he hadn’t heard what they were talking about or seen the ambiguous marks on Melody Thorne.
But he clearly saw the meat Jared Quinn was about to serve and said, "Melody doesn’t like fatty meats; she only likes lean meat."
The meat hovering in front of Melody Thorne stopped, as Jared Quinn’s eyes deepened with thought, and he asked, "You don’t like it?"
"Does Jared not even know this? Melody hasn’t eaten such meat since she was young," Hans Montrose continued.
The sounds of eating gradually ceased.
"Really?" he was asking Melody Thorne.
On one side was Hans Montrose, and on the other was Jared Quinn. She desperately wished these two would just leave quickly, so it’d be just her, Timmy, and Kiki Sutton for dinner.
"Hmm?" A deep yet rising tone, like a gentle stream, but with an undertone of turbulence.
Melody Thorne shot a glance at Jared Quinn. She had already decided to start over with him, so what did this guy really want?
What was there to argue about?
"Oh, I forgot. Melody didn’t eat before, but later she did for your sake, ate so much she nearly needed hospitalization from vomiting," Hans Montrose’s words bore hidden barbs.
Melody Thorne "..."
The atmosphere in the living room suddenly grew heavier. Kiki Sutton was beginning to feel the urge to sneak away like she was on oiled feet. This was clearly a tense encounter between rivals.
"So it was all for me," Jared Quinn pulled Melody Thorne into his arms and kissed her forehead, his enticing dark eyes filled with deep affection.
"Cough, cough," Kiki Sutton choked on a fishbone, her face flushed red with excitement.
She couldn’t believe she witnessed a cold, unfeeling man showing such deep emotion, feeling a bit like she could die without regret.
"That’s ancient history," Melody Thorne couldn’t stand it anymore. She twitched her eye corner, wondering what this guy was doing, acting so passionate here.
She quickly pushed away Jared Quinn’s arms and pulled Kiki Sutton towards the kitchen, "Got something stuck, let’s go drink some water."
"Dad, Melody’s face turned red," Timmy said thoughtfully.
"Yeah," Jared Quinn patted his head, explaining, "She’s embarrassed."
"What does ’embarrassed’ mean?" Timmy pretended not to understand.
"It’s when you’re with the man you like, you feel shy. Like how I just kissed her," Jared Quinn explained patiently.
Hans Montrose opposite them couldn’t bear it anymore.
Timmy winked at Jared Quinn, clearly indicating not to forget the imported mechanical robot reward.
If it weren’t for his dad enticing him, he wouldn’t even have come.
"Haha... ha," came Kiki Sutton’s suppressed laughter from the kitchen, unable to hold it any longer.
"Is it funny?" Melody Thorne drank a few sips of water, feeling a headache coming on.
"Isn’t it? Haha... no, I can’t take it," Kiki Sutton laughed, "I never thought you’ve gotten so skillful, you’ve even got them both under control."
Melody Thorne "..."
