My SSS-Rank Clone Talent: I Level Up Endlessly!-Chapter 226: One soul, many paths.
Chapter 226: One soul, many paths.
Grey could finally use Lilith, and with a diamond-rank book, he could do much more:
"I have wasted too much time on increasing my spiritual energy. This is because my mindset is filled with nothing but rage."
He wanted to calm down. No. He had to calm down.
Rage would only destroy yourself and nobody else.
As the saying goes, you are your own greatest enemy. This saying was very true to the core.
Grey sighed again.
But when he thought about how Lucy was kidnapped right in front of his eyes, his calm couldn’t be contained.
He tightened his fist, and his eyes were bloodshot to the extreme.
"I shouldn’t feel any rage, I barely know her, but..." he touched his heart, feeling as if something was missing in it.
"What happened, Master?" Lilith’s tone had a hint of worry as her body, the grimoire, floated and directly appeared in front of him.
Grey just silently touched his heart and closed his eyes for a moment. His mind flashed with silent memories, all the time he has spent with Lucy till now.
"Alright, I have calmed down now," he muttered in a very hoarse voice.
"...You don’t seem fine," Lilith said.
"It’s fine, and I will be fine." Grey’s voice became so hoarse and cold that he didn’t even seem to speak for a moment.
"Lilith, can I finally write to you?"
"Yeah, however, even though your spiritual htz might have exceeded two thousand, you will barely be able to write a few lines. Don’t underestimate a Diamond-class Grimoire," Lilith said.
"That’s fine," Grey spoke, his eyes lighting up in excitement.
"Good that you’re fine with it," Lilith said with a nod, her massive grimoire-body gently tilting forward.
Then, the colossal book creaked open, and its pages began flipping on their own with a rhythmic flutter.
"A Bronze Grimoire has around 100 pages. Silver has 200. Gold holds 500, Platinum about 1,000, and a Diamond Grimoire has 10,000 pages," Lilith explained, her voice smooth as the wind rustling through parchment. "I am also a Diamond, but I have a total of 12,226 pages."
She paused.
"That means I’m far stronger than any ordinary one. So worship me already, you pathetic mortal."
Grey’s brows twitched when he heard this, but he still got to the main point:
"How many pages have been used?"
"None," Lilith said with a chuckle. "You really don’t know how a Diamond Grimoire works, do you?"
"Nope," Grey replied in his usual neutral tone. "Does it reset after the owner dies?"
"Yup. For us to reach the next tier is almost impossible. The user usually dies long before they can even finish all the pages. And even if they do manage to finish, the chance of evolution is still practically zero. Even a high-tier Grandmaster, the peak of your book tamer ranks, can only increase our chance by 1%."
"Interesting. What’s the next tier?" Grey asked curiously. Although he had his own plans, his interest had been piqued by her words.
"After Diamond comes the Mythic Grimoire and as the name suggests, they’re only found in myths," Lilith said with a tone of longing as she finally flipped to the very first page. "Now then, which ability do you want to use?"
"I want to use the ability of Soul Connect and Soul Sever," Grey said with a firm heart.
"Oh? Soul Connect and Soul Sever?" Lilith grinned from within the Grimoire.
"Yeah. How do I use it?"
"I’ve already given you the information. All you need to do now... is activate it."
"How? Although you’ve given me the information, how do I actually access it?"
"Give me a kiss, and I’ll tell you."
"..." Grey stared straight ahead at her, his blue pupils shining without a flicker of emotion. "Forget it."
With that, he closed his eyes and gathered all the information he had absorbed from her, aided by the <Hive Mind> skill. It was an extremely easy task.
Then Grey fixed his gaze on the Grimoire and took out a quill pen.
"Is this how you do it?" Slowly, spiritual energy began to surge into the quill, growing stronger by the second. Grey immediately felt the drain on his spiritual energy, but he didn’t mind. Fully focused, he began to write.
Even though the quill had no ink, spiritual energy itself was poured out as if it were ink.
With just a single stroke of Grey’s brush, nearly one percent of his spiritual energy vanished. By the time he finished writing a word, almost eight percent of his energy had been completely drained.
Grey gritted his teeth, sharpening his focus.
"Are you really writing it?" Lilith asked, stunned. "Are you sure you’ve never had a grimoire before?"
Despite Lilith’s disbelief, Grey wrote four words, and used almost 32% of his spiritual energy in the process.
One soul, many paths.
The perfect phrase to express the "intent" behind what he wanted to do.
From Lilith’s information, Grey realized that writing in the Grimoire was similar to the intent Drayken had for his spell, though it wasn’t as complex or logical.
This kind of writing was driven purely by emotion.
The moment Grey jotted down words in the Grimoire, the entire book shone with a brilliant light.
"You... you are using me."
Grey felt his consciousness slip away into a dim darkness.
His real body collapsed to the ground with a heavy thud.
Then, in an instant, cold iron shackles snapped around him, binding and chaining his limbs tight.
"Did I really do it?" Grey whispered, voice trembling.
His vision shifted once more, plunging him into complete darkness except for a faint, flickering blue light that slowly dimmed.
In this hazy, half-formed state, he became aware of his own blurry human outline. Behind him stood Lilith, revealed in her true form, the curvaceous and seductive woman.
Before Grey hovered a consciousness much like his own.
"You really managed to accomplish it, didn’t you? No, should I say ’we’?"
