Chapter 338: *What was your era like*

Solomon would be in charge of maintaining order and peace, and the head of the black market would be in charge of the economy in the demons’ territory.

Also, thanks to the bloodstones that Kevin and Alan had given them, Alice had promised them that the wealth in their territory would be distributed fairly, and finally, Derek would officially be the one in charge of negotiating a lasting peace with the humans, but of course, Connor would be their privileged interlocutor.

When the last of the wounded Warrior Spirits was finally completely healed, Elias sent everyone home, and he sent Tarik and the others to hunt down any demons or Titans that might have escaped them today.

The demons’ territory was quite small, and thanks to Malo, who, like Lucas, could recognize energy signatures, no Titans would escape them.

As for Glen, he had long since created a kind of detector that could spot creatures marked by a God, so when they would finish their hunt, the demons’ territory would be secure as he had promised.

Elias, after that, joined Kevin and Axel, who had invited him and Miguel because they wanted to introduce them to their daughter. And as Miguel had let him handle things after having healed their men, he was already with them waiting for him.

When he arrived, he sat down next to Miguel, who seemed to be holding up well, even though he was paler than usual. Miguel immediately said to reassure him, "I’m fine, don’t worry. In a few hours, this tiredness will have totally disappeared."

Elias kissed his forehead and said to Kevin, who was curiously alone with Mykael and Colin, "Our men are finishing the cleaning. They’ll let me know when it’s done... So, kid, where’s your husband and daughter?"

Kevin smiled at him and said a little embarrassed, "They’re on their way. He had to convince Willow to stop eating to come see us."

Elias smiled then, and Kevin contacted Axel right away to tell him that everyone was there and waiting for them. A few seconds later, he arrived with Willow, who was curled up in his arms.

Kevin immediately reached out his hand to caress her and said surprisingly, "Willow, sweetie, you have already grown... and there is more gold on your feathers..."

Willow then rubbed against his hand and said to him, "The magical beasts that Granpa brought me are excellent and perfect for my growth... But Daddy, you look tired; hold me in your arms."

Kevin looked at Axel and said to him hesitantly because he knew Axel liked to hold her, "She wants me to hold her."

Axel smiled at him and passed Willow to him, who then jumped onto his chest and spread her wings until they closed all around him. Kevin then said hastily, "Wait, Willow, what are you doing?"

But he kept quiet because he suddenly felt a feeling of well-being spreading inside him, and when Willow’s wings returned to their usual size, he heard her say, "There, that’s much better like this."

She then rubbed her head against his neck to show him her affection.

Kevin then started to stroke her, and he looked at Axel, who had stepped aside, surprised by the size of Willow’s wings. Axel nodded to reply to his silent question because he had felt through their bond what Willow had done to him. He then asked his father, confused, "Did Willow just sort of re-energize Kevin? Is it dangerous for her?"

Mykael was also surprised, and when he looked at Elias and Miguel and saw that they too were shocked, he then said to him, "Son, phoenixes are known to be the best healers, but I didn’t know they were able to do that. After all, fatigue is not an injury."

Kevin then said to Axel to reassure him, "Willow is fine; apparently, it’s easy for her to do this. She told me she just sent me some of her divine energy."

Miguel smiled and said to them, "Well, your daughter is very cute, and she will grow up to be very strong... I knew she was a phoenix, but I didn’t know she was a divine creature."

He turned to Elias and said to him, "Now there is no doubt that the appearance of a new Stage 3 Warrior Spirit heralds the end of an era and the beginning of a new one... An era in which all supernatural beings will be able to evolve into divine creatures."

Kevin then looked at them and asked curiously, "Master, if this means the end of an era, then what was your era like before Elias arrived?"

Miguel smiled and took Elias’ hand before telling Kevin, "Before Elias came to join us, humanity had no future, and we had no hope. The Gods lived among the humans, and we were their slaves. I think I was the first anomaly that signaled a change... Before the Warrior Spirits appeared, the Priests were the only humans who could fight the Gods, but it took three Priests to fight a God even weaker than Mykael. So, as the Priests were representing the only threat to the Gods, they were hunted down and all killed by them."

He then told them, " My father was a fighter who had an unlimited reserve of chakra and complete control over it, and my mother was the last Priest of our world. She wasn’t just a mage who was able to use the 5 elements; the techniques that Elias taught you came from her. As a Priest, she had been trained in special pressure point techniques as well as the use of tiny needles that allowed her to attack her opponents’ nervous systems or to attack the meridians directly, because at that time, it was the only way we found to weaken a God and give other mages and fighters time to kill him."

Miguel continued to tell them their story, "I was born with both their energy reserves, and after me, there has never been another Priest or human born with two different energy reserves. My parents died when I was 16, and I first met Elias when I was 18. He was only 14 at the time, and I found him because he had lost control of his energy when he first transformed into a Stage 2 Warrior Spirit."

Elias said to them, "At that time, we didn’t know that there were other worlds, but when I turned into a Stage 3 Warrior Spirit, I started to sense the other Warrior Spirits, and I teleported to them every time I felt a new one appear. Then we teamed up and killed a lot of Gods together."
