Chapter 115: Beginning Of An Unholy Rivalry

Damian’s words were met with a light, condescending chuckle from Duke Haborym. The demon gently clutched his face and shook his head, a pitiful smile tugging at his lips.

"While your growth is commendable, it is still a thousand years too early for you to challenge me..."

Suddenly, loud bursting sounds erupted everywhere as space itself began to balloon and rupture, tearing open as streams of red blood poured out from the wounds. It was not one or two tears, but hundreds, all aligned behind Duke Haborym, each revealing hordes of demons within, poised to be unleashed. Within every portal, millions of blood-red eyes stared at Damian with unrestrained malice.

"I am a Duke of Hell and commander of twenty six legions of hell. Do you truly believe I am a foe you can hope to vanquish?"

"For the Lord will pass through to strike the Egyptians; and when He sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the Lord will pass over the door and not allow the destroyer to come into your houses to strike you."

An unexpected voice rippled through the battlefield like a whisper, no, like a prayer. It was low, calm, and sincere, soothing the raging fire in the hearts of all who heard it.

Rumble!!!!

The earth trembled violently as a strange symbol marked in blood began forming in the air around them. That was not all. At the edges of the battlefield, blood bubbled into existence from the ground and slowly rose into the air, tracing the shape of the barrier.

Damian and Duke Haborym instinctively covered their noses at the foul stench of the blood, yet more than that, Haborym seemed livid at the sudden interference. Their gazes traced the source of the voice to a lone figure standing atop what appeared to be a floating mass of angelic feathers, golden light glowing within his eyes. Corbin stood with his arms folded across his chest as he muttered the final words of his technique.

Divine Art: Passover; Boundary of Blood!

Buzz!

Duke Haborym’s expression twisted with fury as he realized Corbin’s intent. Instead of attempting to break free, Corbin had erected another barrier within the barrier, severing Haborym from his own army. When this divine art was invoked, evil was forced to walk past judgment itself. Only demon nobles would dare challenge the blood of Passover. Lesser demons would not.

Duke Haborym’s eyes narrowed as he looked toward his legions, now stranded beyond the blood barrier, unwilling to advance. They understood better than anyone that contact meant instant death.

They would not dare.

"Corbin!!!!!" Duke Haborym roared, his face contorting with rage.

This human had been a constant thorn in his side since his repeated attempts to enter this world and locate Damian. If not for him, Haborym would have completed his search only nights after Bathin’s death. Instead, their repeated clashes had slowed his progress at every turn.

"Why must you keep interfering with the matters of the underworld?!" Duke Haborym’s fury burned within his crimson eyes.

Yet his rage meant little to Corbin. His smile stretched unnaturally wide, revealing a row of razor-sharp teeth as his eyes flared with golden light.

"The universe belongs to the Most High. Everywhere falls within my jurisdiction." Corbin’s pupils turned black, his golden irises morphing into the shape of a cross.

Observing from the safety of the rooftop, Linda could only wear a proud smile as she watched Father Corbin finally enter the battle. Despite being older than him, she had long accepted him as her mentor, having admired everything about him. It was only after meeting Damian that she had found herself curious about another man.

"He always nails his dramatic entrance," she blushed, like a devoted admirer watching her idol perform live for the first time.

"So what do you say, buddy... Let’s get rid of this monster first. It has no place here. What do you say?" Corbin asked with a grin.

Duke Haborym suddenly paled, his head snapping toward Damian.

"A prince of hell must never collude with the heavens, or there will be consequences!" he roared.

Damian’s gaze, however, remained level and calm in a way that felt deeply unsettling.

"Why should I follow the rules of demons? I am human after all," Damian replied calmly as he rolled his shoulders. Bone-grinding sounds echoed from his body as he fixed Haborym with empty, emotionless eyes.

"Hahahahahahahaha... Good man!" Corbin laughed, his voice low and sinister, as though he were restraining himself.

He raised a hand to cover the lower half of his face, hiding the crazed smile stretching beneath it.

Duke Haborym’s eyes turned cold as his murderous intent began to leak from his body. With Father Corbin above and Damian below, their combined assault posed a genuine threat. To make matters worse, he was now trapped within his own barrier, a prison he had created to isolate them, only for them to twist it against him.

He no longer had the luxury of holding back.

"You disappoint m..."

"Bro shut the fuck up!"

Damian stomped the ground and shot into the sky like a rocket. His violet eyes flared white as black ears, a tail, and claws burst into white flames.

[Ninefold Samsara Firefox!]

"It ends now!" he bellowed.

Seeing Damian’s resolve, Corbin could no longer contain his excitement.

"Lend me your sword... Gilbert." His voice remained soft, almost gentle.

Without waiting for a response, he leapt off the floating mass of feathers, descending toward Duke Haborym. Within the cocoon of wings, Gilbert watched Corbin’s back for a brief moment with a blank expression before responding.

"AS YOU WISH!"

BOOOM!

At those words, the clouds were torn apart by a thunderous explosion as a blazing meteor descended from the heavens, engulfed in golden divine flames.

Archangel Weaponry: Flaming Sword: Lahat’s Reckoning!

The crimson sky was painted amber beneath the blazing presence of the descending meteor, while the world below had transformed into a sea of searing white flames, with Damian spiraling at the very center of the chaos.

It was clear that the two of them had come with a single purpose in mind.

To eradicate Duke Haborym in one decisive strike.
