Chapter 88: 88. D.Y.T {6}: Spirits Vs The Dragon Prince.

"MEEHHH! Look at this one!" a spirit sheep bleated while laughing, and others followed.

"He’s crying already!"

"Hahaha, he called for his mommy!"

The goats hopped around, and their laughter echoed unnaturally as they released wave after wave of fear aura into the air, causing more demons to scream even louder.

Some dropped to their knees, sobbing, while others curled into balls as they whispered apologies to no one in particular.

Actually, they were apologizing to the spirit beasts because, despite not seeing them, many of them could already guess that the spirit beasts were around, and they were clearly making fun of them.

Meanwhile, a young demon ran straight into a tree and began smashing his forehead against the bark of the tree, over and over again, as his eyes turned glassy.

Nearby, spirit sheep drifted quietly, as their soft "meehh~" sounds lulled and misled the demons who were trying to escape.

"Wrong way~."

"Not there."

"Keep running."

Some whispered, and others screamed, but a group of contestants followed the whispers, only to scatter in confusion moments later, attacking each other in panic, as they became unable to recognize friend from foe.

Meanwhile, the goats and sheep continued to watch all these delightedly.

"BAAAH! They’re fighting each other now!"

"I love this part!"

"And I love how yummy they look."

"Agreed."

"Me too."

"Me three."

"Me four."

"Can we eat them yet?!"

"Yes, please, let’s eat them."

"I want to eat them too."

Drool began to slide down their mouths and onto the ground.

Each of their spiritual saliva sizzled faintly where it landed, and more demons fell.

Some convulsed violently, with foam forming at their lips as their minds fractured under the pressure, while others screamed until their voices broke, but they continued screaming silently, with their mouths still wide open.

But through it all, the panda spirit watched everything in a calm and relaxed manner.

"Boss, please, let us feast on them now." A goat said.

"Please, boss, we’re starving." A sheep was added.

"Patience, little ones. Let them suffer a bit more."

But one of the goats bounded up eagerly.

"Boss! Boss! Look at that one!"

"He’s trying to stand again!"

"Oh, you’re right, I see him too. Boss, should I break his leg?"

"I bet he’ll scream so loud if you do it."

"Then I’ll poop so hard into his mouth."

"Hahahaha ~" Everyone giggled out so loudly.

"Boss, please, let me bite him, just a little!" A goat said, but the panda raised a massive paw, and the goats froze mid-hop.

"...Wait," the panda said, and the fear aura pulsing through the clearing stopped.

Something was wrong; the panda could feel it, and so did the goats and sheep.

They glanced around until they finally caught sight of something.

Through the mist, a figure was moving.

But unlike the others, it wasn’t running, and neither was it stumbling.

Instead, it was walking calmly.

But why the hell would a prey be walking calmly and steadily when he should be trembling in fear and trepidation?

All the spirit beasts wondered the same thing as they tilted their heads in surprise.

"Meehh...?"

"That one isn’t shaking." 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞

"Hey, you’re right. He isn’t."

"But why isn’t he shaking?"

A goat snarled and hopped forward. "HEY! FEEL THIS!"

It released a concentrated wave of fear which was high enough to make even a Zero Order Demon in its late stage tremble and collapse.

But it didn’t work.

Instead, the figure kept walking.

Seeing this, the panda’s red eyes narrowed with surprise.

"...Oh?"

The goats fell silent, and the sheep drifted backward instinctively.

And from within the fog, the young male demon stepped forward, with his eyes steady and his posture relaxed, as if the crushing fear flooding the battlefield did not exist at all.

Then the spirits watched as he appeared out of the mist.

But the moment the young demon prince stepped fully out of the mist, something in the clearing broke.

It wasn’t a glass

And it was the mist dispersing either.

Instead, it was the fear aura that the beasts had released into the air.

The fear aura that had once filled the entire area like a flood had now been struck by an invisible wall, shocking both the sheep and goats.

The air grew heavier and denser as the fear aura of the goats and sheep pressed inwards rather than outwards, and the unnatural laughter of the Spirit beasts, which had initially filled the clearing, suddenly died down mid sound.

Slowly, the goats froze, and the sheep drifted apart.

None of them laughed, and none of them bleated either, because what they were seeing right in front of them was simply unheard of before, resulting in all of them simply staring as Aster, as he took another step forward with a more relaxed posture.

He breathed steadily as he stood at the center of a fear field that was powerful enough to cripple any seasoned demon.

"Meehh...?" one of the sheep bleated uncertainly, but it tried to release another wave of fear, and the moment it did, the sheep convulsed instead.

Its body jerked violently in midair, and its legs began to kick uselessly as a distorted screech tore from its throat.

Noticing this, its eyes widened in terror, then it began to scream in its own language as invisible pressure crushed inwards, forcing it to relive every moment it had ever felt fear.

Its first hunt.

It’s first starvation, and this was when it realized its prey could actually fight back.

It dropped to the ground in a heap, then it began to twitch while screaming out in agony.

Watching this, a goat shouted. "BAAAH!! What’s wrong with you?"

"Stop pretending, you idiot."

"Yeah, it’s not funny."

"You’re beginning to make me feel worried, and I don’t like this feeling....baaahh!!!" A different goat said, but the terrified sheep stiffened as it began to make choking gasps while its pupils dilated.

The fear aura around it snapped onward like a whip, and it staggered backwards like claws digging into a stone as it began to shake uncontrollably.

The sheep tried to drift away because its body wanted to run away as far as possible, but it couldn’t.

Meanwhile, the panda watching all these began to straighten its body.

Its massive body rose to full height, and its red eyes narrowed as it studied the young demon prince in front of it.

No aura flared from the young demon, but the way the demon had pushed and retracted the sheep’s fear aura back to it was really amazing.

".... interesting." The panda uttered in its thought, then it lifted one heavy paw before silencing the remaining goats instantly.

And all eyes turned to the panda before drifting back to the demon prince.

But Aster took one more step forward, and the fear in the clearing suddenly surged violently, causing the panda to smile even more.

"Kill him." The panda’s voice was low, but it was really deadly, and it was more than enough to encourage the goats and sheep to stop hesitating.

The spirit goats leaped forward in a frenzy, and the bodies blurred as they bounced through the fog with jaws wide open and claws aiming straight for the young prince’s throat.

The sheep followed from above, and they drifted silently as they released another massive surge of fear spiritual energy at Aster, hoping it would be enough to crush his mind before their bodies would be able to reach him.

Meanwhile, across the continent, the spectators leaned forward at the screen in front of them as they yelled in excitement, astonishment, and worry.

"Oh no, they’ve revealed themselves."

"Whoa, there are so many of them."

"And they’re attacking the prince."

"Oh my devi~ He’s surrounded."

Within the arena, the projection crystals flared brightly as the surveillance eyes zoomed in, showing that Aster didn’t show fear.

Didn’t quiver

Didn’t tremble

And neither did he try to run away.

Instead, he stepped forward, and the fear spiritual energy from the sheep and goats slammed into him, but the moment it touched him, it inverted violently and snapped back toward its source like a coiled serpent.

The charging goats screamed as the backlash hit them mid-air, with one twisting sideways and slamming into the ground hard enough to crack stone, while another dropped and shrieked as it slammed its head straight to the ground.

"Bash!!! No!! Make it stop!!!"

"Stop it!!"

"I hate this!!"

They lamented, but the fear spiritual energy surging out of Aster increased even more, and flames erupted behind him and around his arms.

He raised his arm, and a massive ball of flames formed above his head.

But the flames weren’t the familiar orange colored flames everyone was familiar with.

Instead, it was a deep red color because the flame had been mixed with his spiritual energy, thanks to a training Hallie and Cara had taught him.

Aster swung his arm, and the flame tore through the swarm of goats and sheep.
