Chapter 757

The next day, Anton continued with his journey. The four sugar gliders, which looked to be a father, a mother, and their two children, were still clinging to his arms and shoulders. He hoped that once he left their territory, they would leave him and return home, but after a couple of hours, and Anton was sure that they were far away from the small creatures’ territory, they were still clinging to him.

Anton sighed, searched for a place that was a little hidden from view, and found a few trees that were bunched extremely close together. He used a scroll of town portal, and the glowing blue portal appeared. He checked closely if the magical sugar gliders would become afraid, and they were, but their only reaction was to cling to him tightly.

He entered the portal to return home to the Rose Manor. Upon exiting his bathroom, he carefully inspected the sugar gliders. They did not look too terrified and were looking around Anton’s bedroom curiously. He went outside his bedroom, and those who saw him were surprised. Usually, upon returning, he would immediately cast the Blizzard spell that was turned into Mana Rain, but Anton skipped that step to show the magical sugar gliders their possible new home. If they found the flower gardens and the fruit orchards to their liking and wanted to stay there, then they would be the small creatures' new home. If they kept clinging to him even after showing the manor’s beautiful landscapes, which were still in full bloom even in the middle of winter, then he would return them to their place in the northern forest and leave them there by turning himself invisible and rushing away. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

When Anton arrived at the gardens, the sugar glider family looked fascinated at the beautiful flowers that were still in full bloom even in the middle of winter, but when they arrived at the fruit orchards, and their senses were filled with the smell of delicious fruits, Anton was happy to see that the sugar gliders looked to be stunned at first, then ecstatic. They immediately glided away from him and went to one of the apple trees. They immediately searched for the apple they wanted to eat, but apparently, each apple looked tantalizing to them. The sugar gliders finally selected an apple, and the four of them started eating it. Anton laughed out loud when the four gliders tasted the apple. They looked like tiny human with expressions of disbelief that something like an apple would have a taste so divine.

“Oh, you found a family of Telaminir. They’re incredibly rare and hard to find due to their stealth abilities.”

A voice said, and when Anton turned around, it came from Rodri, the elven gardener the family had hired to take care of the orchards and gardens. Anton remembered that it was not coins that made the elven man work for the manor. The elven gardener wanted to study the effect of Anton’s mana rain on the soil and the flora that grows from it. He did not know if there were already results from the elven gardener’s studies, but Anton did not really care about that.

“They’re called that? I just call them sugar gliders. I was traveling through the northern forest, eating a dried fruit that came from our orchard, when one of them landed on me. It started begging, which was extremely cute, so I gave it the dried fruit. After that, a bunch of them glided down from the trees and clung to my shoulders and arms, and then they all started begging. I gave them all dried fruits.”

“They usually avoid humans or any carnivores for that matter,” Rodri said.

“When I camped for the night, a family of them entered my small wooden house and begged for more food, so I gave them some. Then they fell asleep on my bed! I had to lay down my sleeping bag beside my bed to rest,” Anton said to the elven gardener, then he continued.

“The forest elves told me that the main reason the pixies were not hostile toward me, some of the magical community favored me, and some were just indifferent, was because I did not smell of blood. I did not kill anything while I was in there and just drove away any aggressive animals or even monsters with my summons. Not that I’m averse to killing them, the divines know I destroyed a lot of things, although they were usually undead or dungeon monsters. It’s just that I felt lazy while in my journey of exploring the forest, and did not have the urge to behave like a murderhobo, killing everything in sight.”

The elven gardener laughed upon hearing what Anton had said.

“Good for you. I’m thinking that not behaving like a…what do you all call it? A murderhobo? Let you realize its benefit?”

“I did! The pixies were fun, although it was just three pixie children who were friendly to me, the small tree elementals I call Groots, since I don’t know what they’re called were wonderful to look at while they go through their day to day lives, the brownies were extremely humble and hospitable and then I benefited a lot from the forest elves, although I think that was just because they love movies so much.”

“Are you planning to continue your journey through the northern forest?”

“Yes. I’m taking my time, though, since the forest is extremely fascinating. I’m thankful that I’m powerful enough to enjoy the journey even in the middle of winter. By the way, I found a strange and beautiful winter flower, and it took a couple of them to check if you can grow them,” Anton said, then handed the winter flowers he found in the forest to Rodri.

“Oh, Luminata! These flowers are incredibly rare and magical. They would keep water from freezing, allowing the remaining animals in the forest to drink water even in the middle of winter,” the eleven gardener said.

“What a beautiful name. You don’t need to worry. There were dozens of them there, and I only took a couple.”

“Normally, I would tell you that I would not be able to grow these flowers because they’re highly sensitive to the place where they grow and would die if the environment was not to their liking, but with the magic in the soil in your manor, I can try to grow them. I have to dig a small pond for them, though, since they would only grow near water.”

“A beautiful pond inside the gardens would be nice! I’m sure that with the frequency of mana water, maybe the pond that you’ll make will be filled with mana water instead of regular water in the future! Go ahead and make your pond, and tell anyone who asks that I’ve permitted you to do so.”

Rodri smiled at what Anton had said regarding filling the pond with mana water, then they turned their attention back to the sugar gliders.

“Do you think they’ll stay here?” Anton asked the elven gardener.

“I’m sure of it. Based on their faces, they might be thinking that they had arrived in their version of paradise,” Rodri said, then laughed.

“They would also be able to eat insects that enter the garden and the orchard. They will have everything they’ll need here,” the elven gardener continued.

Anton felt happy hearing it. He then cast the Blizzard spell, which he turned into mana rain on the whole manor, and the gentle warm rain filled with mana showered everything in sight. The sugar gliders looked extremely ecstatic when the rain hit them, and they started cavorting among the trees, trying to soak as much water as they could.
