My Evil Crown Prince-Chapter 76: Will You Stay With Him?
The men of the Forelli Clan were exhausted after a continuous sparring with their boss. No one dared to stop him because they feared him.
After his conversation with Alira in the music room, Caden went directly to Willow Green to let out his anger. He wasn’t mad at Alira. He was mad at himself.
He knew he didn’t just hurt her. She was also scared of him. He couldn’t forget the look in Alira’s eyes when she stared at him. He couldn’t bear it.
She broke his heart when she suggested the break up, but it was crashed when she accepted to meet with another guy.
However, he couldn’t just forget his revenge. He promised Mireya that he would put an end to Benjamin’s madness. He loved Alira, but he also loved his family. If he would let Benjamin do whatever he wants, all of them might end up dead. He would never let that happen.
He could let go of Alira as long as she’s safe. She wasn’t the only one he needed to protect. He had another sister, Caroline. And he would not let Benjamin harm her.
"Boss, you’re already exhausted. And the men, too. No one rested for days now." Rock said.
"This is training. If they can’t survive this, then how can they survive torture from other clan?" Caden said.
Rock understood what his boss meant. Caden was tortured by the Trekker Clan. They didn’t allow him to sleep or rest. They didn’t even give him food and water. But he survived.
Rock sighed. "Boss, I understand this is training. The men wanted to train with you, but they needed to rest."
"No. I need another sparring partner." Caden insisted.
He walked to the center of the gym and looked around at his men. They were in bad shape because he beat them all without considering that it was just training. He treated them like he was beating one of Benjamin’s men.
"You! Stand up and come here!" He said, pointing at a young boy.
"Boss, J is tired. Look at him. This is his first day of training. You know we can’t push his limits. He might die." Rock whispered.
But Caden didn’t listen. "He’ll be fine. Come on! Fight me!"
The boy gave Rock a quick, nervous glance. He gulped and tiny droplets of sweat ran through his face. Rock couldn’t do anything. He could never defy Caden.
As Caden stepped forward and rushed toward the boy, his body suddenly became weak. His knees started shaking, and he fell to the ground. He heard Rock call him as he closed his eyes from exhaustion.
Alira stormed her way to Willow Green when Rock called her. She knew Caden was there when she called Rock a few days ago. But she didn’t go to face him yet. She wanted to make sure about her decision before talking to him.
"Do you think he’ll be okay?" She asked Elijah.
Elijah nodded. "He’s too exhausted, physically, mentally and emotionally. They said he didn’t even eat or drink after coming here. He’s dehydrated. Let him rest and stay with him."
She nodded. It was a relief that Elijah had some medical knowledge because he attended advanced classes in Flousia.
She sat on the chair beside Caden’s bed and held his hand. He looked a little pale and his face was thinner than before. When she saw Rock and his men, she apologized to them and made sure she would take care of their boss.
"Here’s an apple. This is his favorite, so make sure to give this to him when he wakes up." Rock said.
"Thank you. And again, I’m sorry." She sighed.
Rock leaned his back against the wall and crossed his arms.
"You’re his fiance, so I have nothing against you. It was his decision to overexert himself."
She smiled slightly. "How long have you been with Caden?"
"I’ve been with the clan longer than him. His grandfather made me swear to protect him. So I’m doing my job as his first in command."
"Will you always follow his order?" She asked.
Rock nodded. "I guess you don’t know a lot about him. We respect and follow him not because he was the new boss chosen, but because he deserved it. He’s not a bad person. The Forelli Clan changed its vision when the current King of Flousia ascended the throne. We formed an alliance with the royal family. But our former boss, Matthew Forelli, knew that the king could never decide to kill someone without a proper trial. The King governed its people by applying the law of Flousia. But sometimes, the law can be twisted along with the truth. So we, the mafia, tainted our hands to bring justice to whoever dared to manipulate the truth. Caden did what his grandfather started and had achieved more than that." Rock paused.
She let the man talk about Caden. She wanted to see Caden in the eyes of his men.
"A lot of men here in Willow Green came from different mafia clans. They were abandoned, betrayed and sentenced to die by the hands of their clan. Caden accepted them and gave them another chance to prove that they are worthy to be with the Forelli Clan."
"But isn’t that dangerous? What if it’s just a trap?" She asked.
Rock nodded. "He knows that. But he always says that everybody deserves a second chance. He gave those men a home. Those men who were already forgotten by their family and could never go back to society. He bought Willow Green for them. In your eyes and maybe in the eyes of everyone, we are just scumbags and some gangsters, but for him, we are more than that." 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
She smiled at Rock. "I’m glad to hear that. Really. I was having doubts about us these past few days and I know I broke his heart, but I already had my answer when I called you a few days ago."
"Will you stay with him?" Rock asked.
"Do you want me to stay as your boss’ fiance?" She answered him with a question.
"He’s head over heels in love with you. And it’s better to have you by his side because he shines when he’s with you." Rock answered sincerely.
