My Evil Boy Toy-Chapter 271: Desperate Move
Chapter 271: Desperate Move
My head throbbed from pain when I opened my eyes. My vision was blurry so I couldn’t figure out where I was.
I felt like I was floating and moving so I mustered my strength to stand up. I turned around and realised that I was in the car.
I looked at the driver and quickly got furious when I saw the man who introduced himself as the real Benjamin Miller.
"Where is my husband? What did you do to him?" I yelled.
He didn’t answer but instead handed me a white envelope. I frowned and glared at him.
"It’s from your husband." He said.
I wasn’t supposed to believe him, but I was unsure why I snatched the envelope from him and quickly opened it. My heart started beating so fast and so loud that I couldn’t hear the busy streets of Northbay.
My hands shivered when I realised it was a letter from Jayden. I knew it was really from him because it was his handwriting.
’Love, I’m sorry I didn’t tell you about the Trekker Clan and that I already met the real Benjamin Miller. Before the other me disappeared completely, I had a dream. You and him were happily having lunch together. I was jealous because it should be me that should stand by your side and not him. That’s when I thought I should start accepting everything that happened. I wanted to help you so badly. Not the other me or one of my alters, but me. I wanted to be proud of myself and tell everyone that I was the one who was there with you. I still couldn’t remember everything about us and that frustrates me. So when I met the real Benjamin, I wanted to know all the details of the past so I could understand why you were always searching for your foster father. You thought I didn’t care. But you just didn’t see me glancing at you."
My eyes flooded with tears as I continued to read his letter.
"Now, I decided to come with your foster father to know his motives. To understand why he hurt you and our family. I know it’s dangerous, but I don’t care as long as I could help you. Finding him and getting to know our enemy is the best way to catch them. I don’t know why he wanted to see me, but making him wait would get everyone in danger. Love, please don’t look for me. I will try to stay alive and gather all of the information you need. If I found a way to get away from them, I will free myself. But for now, let me do this. If I don’t show myself and hide, they will come for Caden. I could not afford to lose another child and I can’t live without you two. I love you, Peg. I will forever love you in this life or the next.’
My lips trembled and my heart broke into pieces. He didn’t have to risk his life for me. It was a desperate move and I would not accept his decision. I knew I had to do something, but my mind was messed up I couldn’t think how.
I punched my chest and wailed. I felt suffocating from the pain in my heart. His letter was more like he was saying goodbye to me and that I would never see him again.
Before I crumpled the paper, there was a note at the end of it.
’Love, you could trust the real Benjamin. He will protect you.’
I glanced at the man and saw sadness in his eyes when he looked back in the rearview mirror.
"I’m sorry. I told your husband to give me a better option, but he said this is the best way to know about Jonathan’s plans. I had no choice." He said.
"D-Did you see them take Jayden?" I asked.
My heart shuttered when he nodded. "Oh my!" I wailed again.
"You knew what they were capable of doing! Why did you call them? You could just decline with Jayden’s plans!" I yelled again.
The man sighed. "I called them to tell them that I didn’t see anyone in Willow Green. It was your husband who told them about himself."
I frowned then took a gun inside my purse.
"What? Are you going to lie again?"
"I’m not lying! When I called them, they already knew you were there. I swear I didn’t betray your husband. I couldn’t." He answered with a shocked expression when I pointed the gun at his head.
"Do you know where they took him?" I asked.
He shook his head. "I don’t know. If I know their hideouts, I could easily find my family. But whatever I do, I just couldn’t find them."
I bit my lip and wiped the tears flowing from my eyes. I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself.
Then I took my phone and dialled Luke’s number.
"J-Jayden has been t-taken." I stammered and burst out crying again.
"Calm down, Peg. Come to Queens. We’ll wait for you." Luke said.
I couldn’t stop crying on the way to Queens. How could I? My husband was taken by our enemies and I don’t even know where they took him.
I dialled a number again and called Missy. Her family worked with us for decades now. As far as I know, her father had been with my father even before I was born.
"Hello, miss."
"Missy, I need to talk to your father." I said.
"My father? What happened?" She asked.
"Jayden was taken by my father."
Missy was quiet for a moment maybe because she was surprised. "I’ll talk to him."
"Missy—"
"Look, if I ask him to see you because of Jayden, do you think he would come? I know he knew something, but his loyalty is with your father not to you." She said.
Missy had a point. Their family wasn’t hired by the Trekker Clan, but by the Miller Clan. Jonathan was the one who built the Miller Security Agency so everyone who worked there was loyal to him.
"How about you, Missy? Are you also loyal with—"
"Oh shut up! I’m like your sister! We grew up together. Stop asking me about loyalty!" Missy said, annoyed.
