Just as he finished speaking, a white car stopped about three meters away from them. Lu Xize glanced at the license plate and raised an eyebrow. Seeing Yun Xi with that defiant look, wanting to argue back, he spoke again, "Alright, stop glaring at me. At the car, the driver confirmed the last digits of the number with him. After Lu Xize said ’yes,’ he opened the back door, gestured for Yun Xi to get in first.

Yun Xi pouted unhappily, clearly still holding onto her grievances, but she didn’t speak, just stared at him. They stood there for about half a minute in a stalemate until Lu Xize chuckled helplessly, "Alright, alright, it’s my fault, my fault. I shouldn’t have argued with you earlier. Please, your majesty, could you get in the car?"

"Alright." Getting the result she wanted, the dissatisfaction on Yun Xi’s face slowly faded. She nodded approvingly and replied with a heavy "Okay" before bending down to get in.

Lu Xize rolled his eyes, sighed, and shook his head too, yet there was no impatience on his face, only a smile full of indulgence and helplessness, making him seem unpredictable.

Once in the car, Lu Xize asked, "Your home address."

"Ancient District, Ningxin Road."

"Driver, please head to the neighborhood she just mentioned first."

"And the fare..." the driver cautiously asked, turning his head.

"Don’t worry, just follow the GPS, I’ll cover the fare."

"Okay, this vehicle has been fully sanitized, please feel free to ride with us."

After the car started, Yun Xi began feeling a bit groggy. Perhaps it was because of the alcohol or from the earlier bump, mixed with motion sickness.

After the car passed a traffic light, Yun Xi just leaned back on the seat, closed her eyes, and started sleeping, as it was still a distance to Ningxin Road.

Seeing her about to sleep, Lu Xize didn’t say much. But at the next traffic light, because she was asleep and had no support, she slumped forward unexpectedly when the car halted suddenly, almost hitting the seat in front. Luckily, Lu Xize was quick enough to grab her arm.

"Are you okay?" Once she steadied herself, Lu Xize asked quickly.

With the sudden jolt, Yun Xi’s drowsiness was completely shaken off. She opened her eyes wide in fright and let out a relieved breath, shaking her head, "I’m fine, just startled."

"Sorry! Are you guys alright?" The driver immediately turned to apologize after hearing them.

Lu Xize frowned unhappily, a noticeable hint of displeasure on his face, his lips tightly pressed.

"It’s fine, no worries." Yun Xi, however, waved it off with a smile. She doesn’t like to be demanding or overly fussy. As long as others don’t truly anger her, she remains generously forgiving, except when it comes to Lu Xize, where she behaves quite differently.

Hearing her, Lu Xize instinctively looked at her, a flash of disbelief in his eyes. He then quickly let go of her arm, turned his head as if angry, and let out a light humph.

Yun Xi, hearing this somewhat pretentious sound, was slightly surprised, thinking she must have misheard, and tried to hold back her laughter while looking at him, "Did you just ’humph’?"

Lu Xize glanced at the upscale neighborhood behind her and nodded, "Alright, go in."

Yun Xi didn’t say much either, she turned around and went in. But upon entering the electronic gate of the community, she realized the white car hadn’t left, and Lu Xize even lowered his window to watch her. This gesture inexplicably made her feel reassured and warm.

But deep down, she felt somewhat indignant. Clearly, he had rejected her when she confessed last time, so what was the point of all these gestures now?

Making her feel moved only to toy with her again?
